Originally this time-lapse was 40 minutes long. It's sped up more than usual to fit it on YouTube.

As you can see I put some effort into a robotic-styled platform before going with the organic. I wasn't happy with the way the robotic one was turning out, it looked too generic and cliche and nonsensical.

The bottomless pit adds a little fear of heights onto our excitement. The original top pillar was removed to make room for the worm to do it's thing. Originally I imagined it grabbing her in such a way that it avoided the top pillar, but that was just overcomplicating things. The top pillar was meant to symbolize entrapment but there is enough of that in this piece so it's not much of a loss in this case.

The incredibly long arm-worms symbolize power.
