Clothes, especially tight clothes, are symbolic.  When a tentacle or parasite enters an opening in clothing, that is technically a type of penetration, especially skirts.  For me clothing can be just as erotic as nudity.

Her needing to sit down emphasizes her feeling the new extra weight in her belly.  If she was still standing, that makes it seem less real, which would make the audience feel less invested in the scene.

Her grabbing and touching the creature gives her an idea of how "big" it is, which theoretically will make the experience more erotic for her.  This is based on the other theory that not knowing or expecting something like a doctor's syringe will make it less painful.
