I just wanted that Bill & Ellie interaction. Was so ready for that part. Plus the bloater scene in the gym would've been badass!

And yes I think you missed the part where Bill put the drugs in the entire bottle of wine. Not just Frank's glass.

For fans of the game this was an accurate telling, its just in the game it was left more to the imagination (with the goodbye note and playgirl in the truck). It was nice seeing Bill get a happy ending, even if it meant an early one.

Seems like you liked the episode except Bill's death which is fair, they could have had the back story, but then had him a bitter survivor and kept it true to the game, maybe he moves out, and into the church like the game. I think that was cut for budget reasons, as well as to not over shadow what they can do later in the story. Still glad you appreciated the parts you did.

Walking dead blows this shit out of the water tbh. (Except for the last few seasons) but seriously, Walking dead got a much better story and characters

The directors said in one of the interview prior to the show releasing that they went to the writers of the last of us game and got story lines that were written for the game but was not added to be put in the show.

I just watched the gameplay with Bill on a playthrough and y'all are deluded if you think the game did it better. Ultimately it's only your loss if you can't see past the rose tinted glasses

The show did it more poetically, more suitable and positive for a show watching audience. The game probably represents a more realistic situation given the times and Bill's personality, it was a lot more negative, we only see the end of Bill and Franks relationship in the game where Frank grows hatred for Bill. Wasn't displeased with the show's version though.

This was one of the first reactions of yours that I’ve seen that came close to being disappointing. I understand that you went into this episode with expectations from the game… But honestly, it seems like the fact that you were unable to let go of those expectations kept you from ultimately enjoying this beautiful story. This was one of the best episodes of television that I’ve seen in years. And yes, I was also a fan of the game… But I don’t think I came into this with an expectation that everything was going to be exactly the same. I’m sorry that you didn’t enjoy the episode.
