I hope things are going well. This last book cycle has been a big one for me. Dungeon 102 was very fun. His grandparents and the relationships surrounding Ken were just amusing and bringing them forward this book was great fun.

Finding the dungeon itself to be a little repetitive, kind of like dungeons in video games. So the focus has been very much on his growth and both of his class and relationships.

Over all, it’s a good mix of character moments, comedy and action for me.

Book 3 will start with a little training with the grandparents between semesters and digging up a little more of Ken’s past.

But now, I’m onto SSV5. I’m planning to wrap up SSV with this book and everything seems to be going well.

I’m excited to turn Miles into what he was always supposed to be with this book.

Outside the writing things have gotten a little busier. I went through a process of finding my first employee this last month. It was a lot of work that’ll pay off in the long run. He’s onboard and working now, helping me keep some of the tasks in the background all worked out. He’s also discovering how much of that I’ve just put off because all I really want to do is write books.

But hey, I might get a website here soon, fix my newsletter and get my ebook and paperback book covers done at reasonable intervals. So, if you see some things starting to look different around here on Patreon or my other communication channels that’s the new guy and we are working to make things a little more professional.

I’m very thankful for all he’s done already even if it’s not forward facing stuff. There are a lot of things that go on in the back end of keeping everything running at a book a month.

As he gets more of this stuff off my shoulders it gives me more time to just focus on writing. Which is awesome.

More and more I want to dig in a little deeper and work on the craft of writing.

I have been reading lots of ‘how to write’ books that come well recommended by other successful indie writers and have a small community of writers that keep their focus on the craft of writing. I like that focus and the group had been uplifting.

Learning lots about writing, thankfully, I’m still strongly a discovery writer. But when I study these things and identify how they are used in other prominent works, I do start to incorporate those techniques and tools into my writing fairly naturally.

Compared to my older works, I feel Dungeon has a little more character depth as a result. I’m getting better at character motivation to make them consistent and give each character some purpose even if it’s just in my notes.

Anyway, things are chugging along and I’m just happy to keep tippity tapping on my keyboard and writing my stories.

Dungeon 102 was my 27th book. Three more and I’ll be at 30. Seems wild to me that I’ve written that much.

Going to keep chugging.

Audio is going to happen for everything, but I’m still behind and don’t see myself catching up in the near future. Some padding is always nice for making things work, but I might write a trilogy and hand that off to another narration team later this year to pull things in a little closer. We’ll see.

The manga has been running along in the background we are on chapter 6 and probably overdue to pushing that forward to kickstarter or however I’m going to spread it.

Let me know if I missed anything and if you guys have questions.

New to the Patreon. Big fan of all your series but I will say that Dungeon is by far the best written. Really enjoying it.
