Hey everyone,
Things are going well. SSV4 was a bit of a monster, I think it’s the second largest book I’ve written and I haven’t written one this long since I started doing monthly releases, so it feels good to have really hit the words this last month.
Miles’s problems are starting to run a little thin and with the things he can do, it’s becoming increasingly hard to challenge him. Someone suggested bringing an intergalactic or interplanar threat. I feel like those are really the only way to challenge Miles now, but not quite sure I want to go full Marvel yet.
Instead, I’ll slow it down at the beginning of next book and work on furthering relationships and see where we go from there.
Speaking of, Dragon 7 is not nearly as complicated as I was expecting the sheer number of characters to be. I’m actually managing it quite well. On chapter 11 right now and things are flowing smoothly, I know where it is going and there is a mystery unraveling before me back in line to the first few in the series as we are back to Philly.
Its hitting a nice cadence and I know things are good when the story flows this easily.
SSV4 is going through one editor right now and will move to the next on the 26th. So it’s still on track for the 9th.
I’m working on two side projects. They are called ‘High Fantasy 4 Bonds’ and ‘Thornton’ in my writing program right now, but that’s subject to change. 2 chapters in the first and 8 chapters in the other. These are right now exercises to work on different writing techniques, but if I finish them, I’ll most likely publish them. I’d like not to publish a book 1 for a new series in August or Sept. It’s just a slow period for the genre.
Outside of writing, things are going well. The storm of illnesses has subsided and my kid is back at daycare. I’m pocketing these two side projects for use down the road and taking some time off.
Anyway, things are great and flowing well. Now it is time for me to push forward and get ahead so that the next road bump doesn’t throw me.
