Dar stepped within sight of the village and the demons and spirits exploded in applause, hooting and hollering as he came back with the demon.

“Put her down.” Sasha came forward and Dar did, though he was ready to take her out if she attacked Sasha.

He noticed Sasha was ready too, her ribbons peeking out of her dress in case she needed to defend and protect herself. Though Sasha wasn’t a natural fighter; she’d proven she could step up when needed, but softness didn’t lend well to being a warrior. So Dar still kept an eye on the cat girl, protective of Sasha.

But the cat girl just sat there, completely stunned by everyone’s reaction. She looked around, taking in all the surrounding villagers. Through the confusion, Dar saw a spark of something like hope in her eyes.

Sasha reached out and grabbed her, leading her into the village amid all the cheering and clapping. She seemed so stunned by the village that she didn’t put up a fight.

Dar hadn’t expected the village to be together or be so excited. Turning to Cherry, he waited for her to explain.

Beaming, Cherry nearly jumped up and down as she spoke. “It’s like the birth of a new demon or spirit for us. They appear in the untamed areas of the world, and when one wanders close to a community that has other ancient races, we celebrate their arrival.” Cherry watched the cat girl make her way to the group, the smile not shifting on her face. “There are so few of us compared to humans. It is only fair that we celebrate their births so much.”

She looked away guiltily. “You sort of deserved something like this too when you became an immortal. But we were hiding it then, so I wanted you to experience it even if they all are doing it for her today.”

Dar realized it then. “That’s what you were hiding.”

She bobbed her head. “Sorry for that. But it wouldn’t be the same if you knew it was coming.”

“Thank you.” Dar pecked her on the cheek and focused back on the village.

Not only was it a celebration for the village, but Dar could tell that despite the cat girl’s confusion, there was something about all the excitement and other ancient races around her that seemed to enrapture her. Dar had a feeling it would make it easier for her to feel comfortable and settle into the new place with a first experience like this.

To properly celebrate, everybody seemed to have taken the day off of their typical tasks to congregate around the central hearth. While they needed to keep moving to build up their village; he looked around at the kids running, young adults laughing, parents half-heartedly scolding their children while cooking up a feast, and even a few starting up some dancing.

He realized just how much everybody needed this moment.

They’d been working since the moment they’d reached the area to establish themselves, and as Dar felt himself settle into the moment, it was clear to him that it was the right thing for their small town.

Community would be important, and life was always uncertain. It was time to party, to celebrate what they’ve done.

“This is fantastic, Cherry. Only thing missing is some wine.”

She looked away from him for a moment, clearly thinking. “There is wine. Someone must have brought it in the carts from Bellhaven. I don’t think it is going to be very good though.”

“Boss.” Glump came up with a knowing smile. “I see you wrangled a new demon.”

“I see there’s a tradition you left out.”

Glump shrugged. “You are always so focused on what people need to survive. That’s not an awful thing. You just were missing some wants.”

“I don’t know Glump. It seems like they might have needed this. I just didn’t see it.”

Women fussed about with smiles, cooking at the common hearth at the center of the village. This place was becoming a community and the hearth here had become the center of it all.

“Well, I’m going to go introduce myself to our new little demon. Does she have a name yet?”

Dar blinked. “Was I supposed to name her?”

“No obligation. But she’s like a child. You seem to have a reluctance to name things though.” Glump turned to the catgirl and took her hand, leading her over to a bench.

Dar knew Glump was talking about a name for the village. Everything he thought of ended up sounding silly to him, so he’d just kept his thoughts to himself. He figured once it was settled and used more, it would fit just like any city. But still, he struggled.

Dar’s thoughts were interrupted as Glump stepped up onto a bench, pulling the stunned catgirl up alongside him. “Everyone, can I get your attention? For those of you who don’t know, today is an exciting day.” Cheers erupted from the crowd standing around in the open space.

The cat girl scanned quickly over the crowd before her eyes found Dar. As soon as they locked, she stopped looking around, staring dead at him while Glump continued.

“Today, we have the birth of a new demon. Unlike a normal child who is found and cared for at birth, so many demons are left in the wild after awakening their first dao. And as a result, they keep to the things that were comfortable as beasts.” He pauses, letting it settle in across the group.

“She may still be a little rough around the edges, but as a community, we should accept her for who she is. Allow for some rough patches as she acclimates. Most importantly, we should celebrate her birth!” Glump raised his arms up high in celebration. There were cheers from the village, most of all from the demons, who were excited for another to join them.

“Now, our village has its first newborn, yet it doesn’t even have a name.” Glump turned to Dar with a slightly wicked smile. As Glump kept staring at Dar, the rest of the crowd turned, following the gaze and clearly waiting on Dar to say something.

Dar hated public speaking, but he knew this was a moment he needed to get over. So he stood tall on top of a stump, like a lightning rod for the rest of the village. “Today is our fourth day as a new village, a new community. I’m amazed by all the work we’ve done so far. Everyone, look around.”

He paused and looked around himself. He saw a few hundred yards of palisade wrapping around fifty huts, a field blooming just beyond them, and the communal hearth in the center where they stood.

“We’ve made so much progress in just this short amount of time. We should be proud of how fast we’ve set up the start of an incredible village. If I didn’t know better, I’d think there was some dao of hearth flowing through each and every one of you.”

The people, rightly so, stood a little straighter, proud of what they’d accomplished.

Taking a breath, he continued. “For those of you who walk the dao path, or just live your lives, many of us know that it is about the journey rather than the destination. With those two concepts in mind, we celebrate not only a new arrival, but a new beginning for our budding village of Hearthway.”

Everyone cheered and whistled. Despite trying to calm the crowd, Dar wasn’t able to get another word out for almost a solid minute.

“Okay, now, if someone could get me a cup of wine. I think I made a mistake and we need to get someone started on brewing a batch of wine and beer.”

There were more cheers, and Sasha approached him out of the crowd, pulling him down for a kiss.

“You’re a good man Dar, and you’ll be a great leader here.” She grabbed a cup from someone behind him and handed him the cup of wine he asked for.

He took a sip and had to work not to stutter. It went down harsher than bottom shelf vodka. “Whew.” He blew out an astringent breath. “That’s strong stuff.”

Sasha took a sip from his cup and coughed as she swallowed. “Yes, it is.”

Out of the corner of his eye the cat girl was watching the two of them, her tail flicking back and forth.

“Is it alright to abandon your charge?”

Sasha shrugged. “I’m keeping an eye on her. Can’t hold her too close though, or I don’t get to enjoy my own dao companion. It is a celebration after all.”

Dar pecked her on the lips. “Yes, it is.”

A beat rose from the area, and Dar spotted a group of spirits using boxes and a hollow log as a drum set. They quickly fell into a rhythm, building off of each other. It was a pumpy sort of tribal beat that repeated often.

Content, Dar downed the drink and pulled Sasha to an open space near the fire to dance. He wasn’t very coordinated on his feet, but he enjoyed himself as the wine started to settle into his body.

Sasha twirled around him, her dress flaring as she danced far more gracefully than he was. She was keeping eye contact with him, a natural smile on her face.

As Dar watched, he realized Sasha must have had some training. She moved with a flourish and practice that felt like it belonged at some noble’s ball, not in a clearing of a just beginning village. Watching her was mesmerizing as she swayed her curves to the beats.

Another dancer bumped into Dar’s shoulder, breaking his gaze from Sasha’s graceful movements. He realized they had kicked off a dance part. More and more townspeople were filling the space and dancing with them.

Cherry moved through the crowd, stopping near them and joining in the dance. Soon after, Sasha flowed away to return to the catgirl, leaving him alone with Cherry.

Cherry’s dancing was far different from Sasha’s, although still far better than Dar’s. Where Sasha moved with a natural grace, Cherry’s moves had a wild flow as they wound around each other.

She pulled his head down for a long kiss. “I think you have other takers. I can’t hog you all night.”

Amber replaced her and might have been Dar’s match for dancing as they slowed down to a more stationary dance. The maid seemed content to sway slightly, spending most of her time rubbing her body up against his.

As he started to grow harder against her, he realized he needed a break before he poked a hole in his pants. He also caught Marcie at the edge of the dancing, watching the two of them.

“Marcie, would you care to dance?” Dar offered his hand.

She blushingly took it, and he pulled her in to dance with him.

“Thank you, Milord.” She ducked her head.

Dar had to lift her chin to talk to her properly. “I enjoyed it as well. You are wonderful, Marcie. You have every reason to keep your chin up and let the world see your beauty.”

Marcie had a lovely face, but she hid it too often.

He could feel her try to hide her face again as her cheeks went scarlet. Holding her gaze steady for a moment, he let it sink into her before he let go.

She needed some coaxing, but he didn’t want to push her too hard, too quickly. He knew it would take a while before she became comfortable with their family, but he hated that she was so insecure about herself.

Not too surprisingly, she only stayed long enough to not immediately flee.

“You did good, Dar.” Sasha whispered from behind him.

“I’m trying. I don’t see Mika.” His eyes went through the crowd.

“She took a liking to the new girl and gave me a break.”

He could feel a ribbon tease its way into his pants and search for his member. “Sasha, not here.”

“Of course not. I thought we’d take a break from the celebration and celebrate alone for a moment?”

Dar caught sight of a few other whispered conversations between partners that had the same mood.

“Okay, my little vixen. But we can’t waste the whole party.”

Sasha nearly dragged him back to their hut. On their way, he got a few whistles from Glump’s women.

“There’s no rush.” Dar teased, only to be pulled even harder. As they got back to the hut, Sasha turned around and jumped into his arms. “I still can be in a hurry because I want to be.”

He didn’t get a chance to talk, as she silenced him with a kiss.

Shifting his hands to cup her ass, he lifted her up so she was level with him. He savored her lips. With her dao of silk, Sasha’s body was always so soft and flexible.

She pressed herself into him, and her soft mounds mashed against his chest. He couldn’t help but pull her closer, chasing that feeling of her body pressed against his.

Sasha came up for air and grinned at him with a wicked smirk. “That never gets old, and I don’t think it will. I love you Dar.” Her eyes searched his as she waited for his response.

“And I love you too, Sasha. All of you, even if you won’t tell me what you once were. I want you to know it doesn’t matter at all.”

Vulnerability spread across her face as she watched him and listened to what he said. He could tell she was struggling between whatever held her back and the truth she could see in what he said.

“You really mean it, don’t you?” Her voice was quiet as she spoke more to herself than to him, but he answered her anyway.

“Of course.”

“Even if I was a worm? A silkworm, to be clear.” She looked away slightly, not wanting to meet his eyes.

Dar kept a smile on his face, pulling her to face him again. Her eyes darted back and forth across his face as she searched for the slightest hint that it bothered him.

He hoped he was conveying it clearly, but he wanted to speak the words as well, just in case. “Sasha, it doesn’t bother me one bit. I love you all the same. But I have to admit I am curious what parts of your old form you kept?” His fingers trailed along her shoulder, nudging the edge of her dress off as he dipped down to kiss the exposed skin.

Blushing, Sasha pushed back from him, planting her feet back on the ground. “Let me show you.” She ran a finger down his chest and used her dao of silk to split his clothing off him. The fabric fell away, leaving him entirely exposed to her.

Putting on a show for him, she let her hand linger and coax his growing erection before turning that finger on herself and slowly splitting her dress, freeing her cleavage, followed by her waist, and moving even slower as she began to reach her sex and the dress fell down to the floor. She stood in front of him in her full, naked glory.

“Sit, Dar.”

He sat down with his back laid against the wall of the hut. She sat in his lap with her back to him and looked over her shoulder.

“Feel here.” She brought his hand to the dimples in her lower back just before the curve of her butt.

“You have two moles back here? Ah.” Dar traced what he now suspected were spinnerettes.

Sasha tensed in his lap and used her hands to pull from them, confirming his suspicion as she dragged out two thin threads of silk.

Dar stopped her and wrapped his arms around her. “Amazing. You’re amazing in every way, Sasha. But I just have one question.”

She tensed in his embrace.

“Am I wearing clothes made of your silk?”

“No, that’s different, stronger silk.”

He kissed her neck and let his hand roam down to her sex as he started to let his fingers dance around her lower lips. “I want to wear your silk.”

She shivered against his chest and relaxed against him. “I can do that, but I’ll need some time to make enough thread and to make—”

He flicked her clit and she gasped. “Shh. Later.”

Sasha only nodded as his fingers probed deeper, and she melted against his chest. He’d explored her body enough to know what drove her crazy, and he was going to use it. His fingers drew languid shapes as she continued to melt for him.

He enjoyed teasing her, knowing she was hitting her breaking point. Sure enough, she quickly spun around on his lap, facing him with lust filled eyes, and sank herself down on his length.

They didn’t need words to coordinate as Dar put his hands on her hips, guiding her to rise and sink upon his length as she took his erection into her silky, warm depths.

Her sex squeezed around the head of his cock as he locked eyes with her bright blue eyes.

“Mmm. Dar. You fill me up so well.” She moaned as she closed her eyes, showing the full satisfaction across her face of having him inside of her. Dar commanded the pace, savoring every inch of her.

They rocked like that for a while, slowly building their pleasure and enjoying every shared moment of their union.

Sasha’s slick sex devoured Dar’s cock with each pump of her hips, his own starting to rise with her craving to stay snug in her.

Dar’s body began to crave more, and he gave into it, wanting to feel more friction. He started to speed her up by thrusting his hips up into her downward swing, meeting in the middle with a soft smack.

Sasha groaned at the first time and sped up her own tempo, wanting the same release he was pushing towards.

She began to ride him harder, throwing her hair back and staring into his eyes as she brought him to the height of his release.

Feeling himself reach the top of the peak, Dar squeezed her hips and slammed her down, impaling her as deep as he could before he painted her insides with his seed.

Coming down from his release, Dar pulled her close and kissed her. “Now let’s work on you.”

Sasha kissed him back and rocked her hips on his still hard member. “I just want to make you feel good today.” She leaned in to whisper in his ear. “Make the man who wants to wear my silk pop off all night long.”

Her warm lips nibbled on his ear and started kissing down his neck as her hips flexed and gently started up a rhythm again.

Growling playfully, Dar pushed his hips up into her, trying to hit a fast tempo for her. But Sasha pushed his hips back down, holding them low as she took him deeply into her. Then she began to rock herself in circles on top of him.

She gasped, sheer pleasure spreading across her face as she moved herself on top of him, making him even harder all over again watching her. Her eyes lit up as she felt him throb inside of her, and a wicked grin spread on her face as they started all over again.

I admit, I did not think of a silkworm. I'm so used to anime that I immediately thought some kind of arachne. Silkworm is a new one

Bruce_Sentar

I thought spider potentially at first, but her seamstress and non-combative nature felt at odds with spider. Silkworm fit far better in my mind.

I like it. It's not something you see often, if at all. Might have made a whole new demihuman class with that one
