Hello my patrons! Here is the next SMMC video. It's an external drive chassis for the TRS-80 Model 2 and the whole video turns out to be a bit of a disaster. Sometimes things go that way and you just have to roll with it!

I'm going to try to edit up a few more SMMC videos this week. I'm so behind on everything SMMC right now, so I think I may take people's advice and try to speed up the videos a little more - but we'll see. Part of it is even if I don't make a video about something, I'm still going to be testing out something so I know where I stand with it -- so really that's what I'm doing in these videos.

So I guess I may as well turn it into a video! LOL. It's a strange problem to have (Too many donations!) It's really hard to complain.

Enjoy!

Adrian, I have a MIG welder and other metal working equipment. I can tell you that this is likely too soft for welding, maybe silver soldering or riveting, but a 3d print might also work. If you ever want to send me the pieces, I might be able to get you something usable. Thanks for all the years of info... :)

Hi Adrian. Sorry for sending in a bit of a train wreck, but I can only imagine what the full desk looked like if the drive case looked like this. Just added a couple of photos to our shared album that might give you an out of the box idea for the tri-drive case. In the meantime, I am trying to send in “super mini” mail call items after these super heavy items. The super mini Apple II was the first installment, but the next item coming should be super mini cool. Thanks again for the great video and I will do my best to make all future submissions under 1lb and fit in a small envelope :-)

Heh no worries! It happens, right? I actually have a dual drive case that can hold 5.25" drives -- I might just make a mini 5.25" version of the 8" massive thing, since the small drives are cousins arne work interchangeably. Indeed the whole desk setup would have been pretty rad -- but you'd certainly need a huge space for it -- not a little house like mine. (Well, it would work if I didn't have so many other machines!) LOL

Thanks! I've had several offers for the lever. Still no luck on the belt for the drive though -- and that's the part that will keep the drive from working again. (That's if the rest of the drive is OK.)
