Hello my patrons, this week we take a break from SMMC on the second channel to show off a new old stock amber CRT that was sent in by Kevin @ Texelec. It came from Computer Reset where there were apparently a huge number of them. When Kevin went back to grab some more, they were all gone so someone grabbed them and they are likely going to be findable on eBay and such.

To put it mildly, a 9" new amber CRT is super rare these days, so I intend to swap this into something..... But what? Maybe a Mac?  Let me know what you think, but it might go nicely with the green Mac I already have.

Testing a new old stock IBM PC 5155 monitor from Computer Reset

What we have on the bench today is a new old stock IBM PC 5155 amber monitor, made by Zenith and sourced from Computer Reset. The IBM PC 5155 was a luggable PC XT made by IBM to complete with the Compaq Portable. Let's test out this new old stock CRT to give me some ideas of what I can do with it. Might have gone well with the SWTPC if it didnt completely dwarf a 9"CRT. I thought a PET too, or a Nice IBM.

Hi Adrian. I have this in my IBM 5155 PC! I am not sure if you mentioned anything about the control knobs, they are for the brightness and contrast which mounts through the front of the case.
