Course duration

Theory / Practice

The course covers provides a bit of theoretical background.  We will touch a bit the concepts of intervals, harmonic numbering & the CAGED system to see how it relates to the pentatonic scales, but the course is mainly experiential.

The focus is on opening up your creativity and ability to improvise in a musical, rhythmic manner across the fretboard, using the pentatonic scales.

Etudes

We will learn the fretboard by using musical, rhythmic etudes (musical exercises) that you will move around the fretboard, in order to learn the different shapes (and how they relate to the CAGED system)

Through the process of playing the same etude in different positions around the fretboard, you learn the different shapes in a musical, rhythmic way (completely different than most fretboard memorization systems that are out there!)

Structure & Personal adjustments

Through the interactive video platform you can share your progress every week and ask questions via video messages. I will provide clarifications &  variations to the etudes and practice routine so that you don't lose track of the course structure.

In the live calls you will have the opportunity to demonstrate your progress, ask questions, and practice improvising & applying the materials to your own music.
