En•Fem•E No.9 - Update 1.1 (Patreon)

Hi everyone.  I know it has been a long time since I have made a post with any substance and I am truly sorry for that.  Firstly let me thank you all for your continued support.  I know it hasn't been easy keeping faith in the project with no information to go off of.  A lot of you have reached out to me and I have tried to personally respond to everyone though some might have slipped through the cracks.  For the most part, everyone has been very positive even if expressing concerns about the project.  I have had a few ugly messages and posts from people who are frustrated with the speed progress is being made.  While I don't approve of the way this was communicated to me I do fully understand the reason for the strong emotions.  One such backer made suppositions that I was not working on an update and that I was just "milking" the backers here on Patreon.  This is not true.  I have been hard at work adding quality content to the upcoming patch.  I did promise early on that the patch would be out very soon after the initial release.  The two main reasons that I was unable to keep this promise are that one, I did not fully realize the amount of work I was going to have to put in to achieve what I wanted.  Two, I tend to add more work to my workload as I go along.  What was going to be a few quick fixes has turned into adding about three times the amount of content of the original release.  Adding in an inventory system with usable items. Making the progress bar meaningful and affect how the story unfolds.  I have redone a lot of the 3D artwork and fleshed out areas that seemed to be rushed.    You will be able to by pass items and areas of the game and this will affect what is open to you later.  I am doing my best to add meaningful choices and achievements to unlock.  I am very passionate about this project and plan to continue it as long as I am able.   I still plan for the "En•Fem•E No. 9" series to have 3 games.  I did intend on rushing to the next game but have decided I first need to get this one done right.

Moving forward the plan is to get better with my communication with you all on Patreon.  It's no excuse but this is my first time attempting something like this and I am doing it 100% solo.  I have a lot to learn and it is sometimes difficult juggling my work, my family, my health etc. and this project.  I appreciate all of your support so much.  That said, I would completely understand if your frustration leads you discontinuing your pledge.  That is my fault and I apologize once again.

OK so, what is this video.  It is a teaser of some of the completed content for the update.  I have a lot of the assets I need to complete the update modeled and ready to go.  A lot is a matter of getting it coded in.  Sometimes that goes smoothly and sometimes... Well, let's just say it took me about a week to get the inventory window not to break everything in the game.  It's good now.  😉

As far as giving an estimated time for completion.  I just don't know.  I am one person and even very large game companies most of the time can not give an accurate date.  I hope to have it to you in October but it could be later.   I am definitely way closer to the finish line than the start.   Please feel free to message me with any questions and I will do my very best to answer each of you quickly and completely.   Until next time.
