Abalone is one of the most familiar marine life :D

In Korea, abalone is famous for its health food.

I don't eat Abalone so i don't know how taste of them, but I've never seen anyone hate to eat abalone 😂

As many people knows, they are endangered in nature because of overfishing and illegal fishing.

Related documentary   (It was more complicated than I thought.)

I learn a lot by looking for data to draw...  Knowing more how people make animals endangered made me sad but Learning more about animals made me happy.

Sketch

I thought I'd draw the actual species by type and type at first,

but I decided to add my color imagination to draw them.

In nature, many of them covered with moss and looks like little rocks.

But to public, their shell is more familiar.

So I made them shiny like jewel.

Oh,, maybe I could draw a jewel snail 💎🐌

I've never eaten Abalone but I don't think I would like the taste, nor the consistency 😣 (can't eat seafood in general) As for the jewel snail, I'm all in eh eh eh 🤩

They are endangered here, and so incredibly rare. My favorite beach and my favorite hiking places were both known for their massive abalone populations before the 70s. Then people killed them for their shells because it was fashionable. Sometimes I find tiny pieces that have washed up on the beach and it is like a treasure from the sea. I hope that they can repopulate with conservation efforts. They are such sweet creatures!

Oh, it's too bad that so many abalones are rare now. In the East, ingredients for medicine and health food are popular. Abalone is so popular all over the world that they seem to be endangered. That is a very sad thing. They are literally living gems. I hope more sea snail become happy again. Thank you Mothstradamus!
