The building in which Jasmine’s new homes were located were a few blocks away from Jackie’s father’s main office and Jasmine’s new job. Jasmine had already called her work and put her two weeks in, but her boss told her to just go and follow her dream and not to worry about the store. Jasmine owed her old boss a lot and tried to tell her she would still work but ended up being fired instead. Jasmine could only smile helplessly. She decided she would give her old boss a bit of money as a thank you for helping her out so much these past few years. Even hiring her when she was underage.

The main lobby had two guards sitting at the door, along with a front desk. The building itself was made for people of higher status. But what surprised her the most was how no one stopped them when they entered. The guards all bowed to her and her family, and one of the receptionists even came over to greet them. 

“You must be Jasmine Woods and family? My name is Claire, and I am the manager here. I will bring you to your floor.” Claire smiled brightly as she looked at Jasmine and then at Jackie, who glared at her.

“Jas, my father owns this building, so just treat them as you please. No need to be polite,”   Jackie whispered from the side.

“That’s rude.” Jasmine flicked Jackie on the forehead, causing her to pout slightly while Stacey giggled. She was glad it wasn’t her. Jasmine turned to Claire, smiled at the young woman, and said: “Thank you. Please lead the way.”

“Huh? Yeah…” Claire was entranced by Jasmine’s smile just now. It was hard for her to look away. If Jasmine had not said anything, she might have sat there in a daze, looking like some kind of pervert. Claire’s cheeks turned red. She felt slightly embarrassed.

Stacey and Jackie did not let this go unnoticed. They both looked at each other and nodded their heads. They both knew Jasmine was charming, but now they knew that just a simple smile from Jasmine could mean the end of the world. “Jas, put on your face mask.”

“Huh? Why?” Jasmine was confused, but Stacey was already digging through her hoodie pocket and pulled the mask out. She then stuck it on Jasmine’s face. Jasmine felt something was off, but she did not say anything and let Stacey do as he pleased. She missed the thumbs up Stacey gave Jackie that said mission accomplished.

They rode the elevator up to the seventieth floor, where they got off. Each floor after the fiftieth floor only had two condos on it.  “Miss Woods, the condo on the right is for your grandparents while the one on the left is for you. Your’s comes equipped with a full sound studio.”

Jasmine blanked out. She heard giggles at her side as Stacey and Jackie led her forward. Her grandmother had tears in her eyes. She was so proud and happy that her granddaughter was finally getting what she deserved. 

“Stacey, you are finally here!” A voice rang out. Stacey looked up to see her mother standing there with a smile. “Mom!?”

“Don’t Mom me! You were about to move away and not tell me!? If I was not asked to take a job as a caretaker, I would not have known!” Stacey’s mom marched over and knocked her daughter on the head. “I did agree with you being with Jas, but what is this I hear about you now in a three way? You better hope Jas doesn’t throw you to the side. This girl is cuter than you!”

“Miss Norland!” Jasmine did not like people looking down on her girlfriends, even if it was their parents. “Please do not degrade your daughter. Stacey and Jackie are both equally beautiful. And I would never throw Stacey aside. She is my light and my muse.”

“No wonder she fell for you. Such a smooth talker.” Stacey’s mother smiled and then pointed at Stacey. “You better behave and not cause trouble for Jasmine. You are lucky to have such a kind and caring girl.”

“I know!” Stacey pursed her lips. She did not know why she was being scolded! What aggravated her even more was the fact that Jackie was not laughing at her! She had only let a few giggles through earlier when Jackie got scolded, but the girl was holding it against her!

“Anyway, Jas, I will be looking after your grandparents as a live-in helper. Basically, I am being paid to be your family member.” Stacey’s mother felt slightly embarrassed.

“You don’t need to work. I can just  support you all…” Jasmine felt bad. It was like she was being forced.

“No! I will not allow that. I am still young and need to work. These places are really big, and your grandmother needs help, and technically, these are your condos.” Stacey’s mother did not feel right freeloading. While she would still help out either way, she felt getting paid would at least allow her to bring in the income needed to help out with things in the house.

Jasmine pursed her lips. She needed to talk with Jackie’s father later. Seeing how determined Stacey’s mother was, she could only sigh and say: “Then talk with my grandmother. She has her own set ways. Please help them when I am not around.”

Stacey’s mother smiled brightly and nodded. “You can count on me.”
