“Wait, you can’t just…”

*Boom!*

I did not let the man finish before blasting a massive hole in the side wall across the room with my phase gun. I looked at him coldly and said: “I am not asking. I am telling you this. There is no rejection, only compliance. I can swear to you that you will have the best of the best when you reach my new base. Everything here will also be brought with you. But it will be used for the good of mankind and nothing else. I do not care about some other sentient race that lives in this world; I only care about the survival of the human race.”

“We understand.” The scientist seemed to finally get it. They quickly began packing things up. As for the soldiers who seemed to want to stop them, they said nothing. I placed my hand on the massive ship, and it disappeared from everyone’s sight. Surprisingly none of them asked how I did it. I began walking around the room, making all the stuff that was here disappear. I did not plan to leave anything but an empty room. I planned to go floor to floor and clear everything out. While I did that I contacted Jen.

“Jen, tell my mom I am sending over many scientists. Bring them to the lab for the time being. Tell her the entire lab area will be expanded by six floors. She can order these guys around as much as she wants. If any of the dares to revolt… kill them.” I did not know these people well, but I was sending them to my mother in order to help her and to create better systems. If any one of these people dared to cause issues, I was not going to put up with it. But I needed these people. Even if I had to forcefully take them away.

“Ummm… Miss…. Can I ask you a question?” I turned to see a soldier with his gun strapped to his back looking at me with sparkling eyes.

“What is it?” I asked as I clenched their leader’s throat tighter.

“I do not mean you harm. I just want to know if I can follow you. Well… not just me, but at least half of us would prefer to follow someone who wants to do something for mankind than just sitting in this place.” The soldier replied.

“Oh? You want to work for me? I do not mind, but I just know any trouble, any harm to the community I am building up, results in death. Even the pettiest of crimes, if reported, will result in death if the evidence points to you. Are you okay with this?” I wanted them all to know that there was no messing around in my base.

“Yes. We would never think of such things. Now is the time for humans to stick together and work hard to survive this ordeal.” The soldier replied.

“Your name?” I asked curiously. From what I could tell, he did not seem like a liar, but I still needed to be careful.

“My name is Kevin. I am a lieutenant and second in command.” Now that he mentioned it, he was the one the others looked to before when asking what they should do. Since he was a leader, he was someone who could be considered knowledgeable in military tactics, which could be very good.

“Okay, but besides guard duties, I want you to help form a militia. Also, in a few days, you will follow me as well. I will need your help to talk some sense into a few soldiers who are bunkered down at a base a few days out. They have many civilians as well, and they are not doing well on food and water. While I can supply them with what I need, it would be better if they got to a more sanitary place.” I explained lightly.

“Then Boss, me and Alpha Team will be under your care!”  Kevin replied as he saluted me. He then looked at the man in my hands once before saying: “I will gather my men and act as your guards, but to be safe, please keep hold of the old general.”

“Mmm… Not that I need him, but he annoyed me, so I am giving him some punishment. Once we clear out this place and send everyone over, we will be able to leave this place. Trust me when I say you did not make a mistake in choosing to follow me.” I looked at him and gave him a meaningful look.

“Understood! Boss, I will go get them now!” Kevin saluted once more before running off.

With the added guard, we moved floor to floor, taking everything in sight. I even got more followers as well after Kevin explained that I was working towards protecting mankind. I had to admit everything was going quite smoothly. I had all the scientists gather in on the bottom floor after I took everything. And to be honest, there were weapons I had never seen before that were something I hoped would come in handy. Especially this X Bomb. I’m not sure what it was since I did not have time to read the material, but if I am correct, it should be able to take out one of the larger replicators once they show up. Or maybe an entire country, I am not sure.
