These words struck Jasmine like a cord. It resonated through her body. She had been struggling to figure out how she would write her love song, but now she suddenly had some inspiration. She looked down at the girl curled up in her lap and smiled warmly. “I think you are right. And also, thank you.”

“Thank you?” Helen was confused. She did not know why she was being thanked.

“You just helped me understand something that I had been trying to figure out. What was love? What did it mean? But now I have an understanding of what it is. I will write a song for the one who allowed me to love and loves me.” Jasmine’s smile became bright. She felt like a cloud had been lifted in her mind. She wanted to write a song that would allow her to be able to express the feeling of love.

“A song?” Helen was even more confused. But seeing how lovingly Jasmine was looking at her daughter. The kind of look that showed just how much she treasured her pride and joy, Helen did not pry anymore. It was shocking to know her daughter got a girlfriend, but she also did not mind in the slightest. Jasmine was a kind hearted soul. She could tell. And she could tell that Jasmine really cared for her daughter.

In the end, Stacey never got to speak to her mother. She slept right through until sunrise. When she woke up, she found herself back in bed, covered in a blanket, but she was alone. She panicked for a second as she looked around for Jasmine, but when she saw her sitting next to the bed with her head in her notebook, she let out a sigh of relief.

She did not bother Jasmine. Instead, she just moved to the edge and laid there looking at the girl who was seriously writing. She did not peak at what she was writing since she found that to be rude and would wait until Jasmine was willing to show her. She wanted to respect Jasmine’s privacy. They did not have much of it anymore.

“You’re awake?” Jasmine asked without lifting her head.

“Mmm… Sorry. I fell back asleep.” Stacey blushed. She felt guilty. “Did you see my mom?”

“Yeah. She was very understanding and gave us her blessing.” Jasmine replied. She looked at the few lines she had written many times and was refining and felt like they were not bad. She placed the notebook on the ground and picked the guitar up at the side.

She took a deep breath and began trying to flesh out the tune she had in her head. Stacey watched from the side in awe at Jasmine’s ability to learn. She had just recently picked up the guitar yet was already so good at it. She was about to praise her but stopped when she saw Jasmine open her mouth.

~~~~~~
Because of you….
I wrote this song.
I strum this guitar.
I sing the words I am now.
Because of you….
I am able to smile when I see you smile.
I do not know what came over me.
I do not know how it came to be.
But as soon as I saw you…..
My heart wouldn’t stop beating…
I love you….
I love you ou
I love you so much…..
You gave me reason…..
A reason to keep going
To chase after my dreams even more…..
~~~~~

Jasmine frowned slightly as she picked up the notebook again. She felt some of her lines were just not good enough. They had to be better. They had to express what she was feeling deep inside. She had to let it out and make the person she was writing this for feel her feelings deep within their soul. She wanted this song to be a song that, when others hear it, they can relate to it. A song about a first true love. A song that would sit in people’s minds when they were with that person.

Jasmine was so lost in writing that she did not see the tears streaming down Stacey’s cheeks. The girl she was writing the song for was hit so hard that she felt her heart would melt. Jasmine’s angelic voice and the way she was able to express her emotions in her singing were already something that would draw the listener into her emotions and feel them for themselves. Stacey really just wanted to jump and Jasmine and hug her all day and night!

Luckily, she could still control herself. But if she was not afraid of disrupting Jasmine when she was lost in writing, she would have done just that. The smile on Stacey’s face was as warm as the sun as she gazed at Jasmine. She was oozing with love for this girl. They had only known each other for a short time, but it was enough. It was enough for her to fall for this girl who did not even realize how much she could touch someone’s heart with her music alone. Stacey’s mind began to turn. She had decided right then to do what she could to support Jasmine’s dream. That was when a thought came to mind. She grinned and decided to ask Jackie for a bit of help. She would be sure to get  Jasmine everything she needed so she could follow her dream and reach millions of people.
