David was speechless and could only watch as Stacey pulled Jasmine away. He had no idea, but he felt a stuffiness in his chest that made him want to go up and pull Jas away from that damned girl. But when he realized he was having such thoughts, he slapped himself in the face. “That’s a boy damnit!” Only after he said this out loud did he realize he was being watched by the entire school! He blushed from ear to ear before running home!

“You okay?” Only after pulling Jasmine for a while did Stacey finally ask this question.

Jasmine looked down at Stacey’s concerned eyes, smiled, and gave a small nod. “Mmm… I know you were doing that for me. Although calling me your boyfriend hit me hard!”

“Haha…. I know, but well… I just figured it would be hard to show that you were a girl unless I showed them your tits, and I did not want to go that far.” Stacey scratched her head. For some reason, she liked the current status quo. Everyone but her thought Jasmine was a boy. She liked this. It was like she had a special secret with Jasmine. Something that only the two of them shared.

“Now that I think about it, yeah. I guess so.” Jasmine sighed as she slumped her shoulders. “Should I just make it known at some point? But I don’t think I can wear a dress….”

“Wearing a dress or not, it doesn’t matter.” Stacey hugged Jasmine’s arm. “Jas is Jas. Nothing will change. Maybe some might be confused, but I, for one, think it is perfectly fine with how things are now.”

“Well… I graduate in the next few months. It would be strange to suddenly change things up now.” Jasmine knew her classes were ending soon. As such, she knew she would need to get ready to jump out into the real world. She had no money for college, nor did she feel like it would do her any good. She actually wanted to try to start working towards her dream if she could. “Hey, Stacey, do you have work today?”

“Me? No.” Stacey shook her head as she answered.

“Want to take a trip with me to a place? I want to finally get a guitar. I have some money saved up.” It was less than a hundred bucks. She did not know if she could even buy a used guitar for so little money, but she still wanted to try.

“Sure! We can go on a date!” Stacey teased as she looked up at Jasmine, who rolled her eyes at her and said: “Yes, yes, we will go on a date.”

The two walked down the street, talking about this and that. Sometimes, Stacey would hug Jasmine’s arm, and sometimes, she would hold her hand. Stacey felt like she was on cloud nine. Jasmine was like an older sister who she could rely on and act spoiled around. She was enjoying her time with Jasmine.

It took almost thirty minutes to get to the music store that sold used instruments. Jasmine and Stacey walked inside and began looking around. She had come here to get a guitar, but the prices, from what she could see, were really out of her price range. Feeling a little letdown, she still continued forward.

“I did not think instruments would be so expensive even when used!” Even Stacey was shocked by the high prices.

“Let’s go to the back. That is normally where the cheaper stuff is.” While she would have liked to have gotten a newer one for cheap, she had no choice but to go to the beat up section.

Sure enough, when they arrived in the back, they found many guitars for under a hundred bucks. But most of them were electric guitars. Jasmine wanted an acoustic guitar to start with since it would cost more electricity to use anything else. She was also just learning, so she did not want anything too fancy. Not to mention the extra cost of buying an amp as well.

They browsed for a while until Jasmine finally spotted a really beat up guitar in the corner. “Thirty bucks…. Looks like it needs strings, but this is not an issue. With such a low price, I can get strings, a tuner, and a book on how to play it.”

While not the best, she could at least get everything she needed. Stacey looked at the guitar that had definitely seen better days and wondered if it was really worth it to buy something that looked like junk. But since Jasmine seemed happy, she did not say anything. Jasmine quickly bought the guitar as well as the other things and was happy to see that the guitar even came with a case and five free picks. She hooked the strap on her arm after storing everything and walked out of the store feeling quite happy.

“I will take you to my house first. I will be home later.” Jasmine was smiling away, but the only way you could tell was if you looked at her eyes, which were slightly curved.

Stacey looked up at her and couldn’t help but feel happy, just knowing Jasmine was happy. “You look very happy.”

“Mm! I can finally try to put music to my songs. Although I need to learn how to play first, but once I learn, I can finally do something I have always wanted to do.”
