David felt slightly relieved. He still wanted to be friends with Jas because he thought they got along well. They had similar tastes in many things. After he was confessed to and replied the way he did, he went back home and realized he could have handled it a lot better. “Good, I am glad we can still be friends.”

“Alright. I need to go.” Jasmine did not want to stick around any longer. She already found the situation slightly uncomfortable for her. As she ran away, David, for some reason, couldn’t take his eyes off the boy in front of him, which made him for a few seconds before shaking his head. “Man, what am I doing!? That’s a dude!”

In a classroom, Stacey sat with Jackie, staring right at her. “So, did you two already do it?”

Stacey was finding this whole thing very amusing, so she nodded her head without a second thought. “Mhm! And I tell you what, it was amazing!” Jasmine’s body was amazing, that is. Of course, she said the last part in her mind. She had to admit after seeing Jasmine this morning, she couldn’t help but feel it was a pity that she was not a boy. But then again, she probably would not have met Jasmine if she was.

“You! You! How could you!? You are only sixteen!” Jackie cried out, which caused Stacey to cover her mouth.

“Shh! You want the whole damn world to know!? Why are you freaking out anyway? Didn’t you and your previous boyfriend do things?” Stacey asked in a low voice.

“That…” Jackie blushed as she rubbed her nose. “I was just trying to look cool in front of you. I….”

Stacey wrinkled her brow and stared at her friend. “You what? You lied, didn’t you!? I knew it! You are too violent to get a boyfriend in the first place!”

“Hey, what does that mean!?” Jackie was shocked to know Stacey thought that way about her!

“Haha! But relax. Really. I am still intact. In more ways than one.” Stacey gave Jackie a meaningful look.

But this piqued Jackie’s interest more. “So he couldn’t get it up?”

“Why would you even ask that!?” Stacey really wondered where her friend’s mind was. “Just leave it alone. Just know that, between me and Jas, nothing can ever happen. I will explain more when I can.” Jackie was still confused, but seeing how Stacey’s eyes did not show any sign of lying, she could only purse her lips and change the subject.

On Jasmine’s side, she sat at her desk with mixed emotions. No one really talked to her in school, so it was no big deal for her. But after talking with David again after confessing, she really felt a bit gloomy. She took out a notebook and tapped her pen off of it for a while before finally starting to write.

~~~~~
Why is it that when it rains, it pours~
My feelings are all bottled up~
My time was wasted on this love~
My time was wasted, oh yeah….
My time~
~~~~~

The more she wrote the words that came to mind, the better she felt. To her, music was her outlet. It was her means of escaping from reality and expressing how she truly felt. It allowed her to say what was hidden deep in her heart. Things she could not say out loud normally.

The more she wrote, the more she realized that maybe she was only drawn to David due to his kindness to her. The feelings she felt for him were not as strong as she had once thought. As she wrote, though, another person came to mind. A silly smile on a cute, small face. When this image appeared in her mind, she couldn’t help but chuckle. “What is wrong with me?”

The day passed as normal. Jasmine walked to the main gates and stood there to wait. She had promised Stacey she would walk her to her job. And she was someone who always kept her promises.

“Jas!” A familiar voice entered her ears as she dazed off. She turned to see David standing there, smiling. “What are you doing?”

“Waiting for someone,” Jasmine replied. She couldn’t bring herself to look David in the eye.

“Oh? Are you waiting for m….” Before David could finish his words, he heard someone call out behind him.

“Jas!” A young girl with blonde hair bounced past David and dived on Jasmine, hugging her tightly. “Sorry for the wait!”

“This is?” David was confused. Looking at how intimate this girl was with Jas, looked as if they were going out. David couldn’t help but wonder if Jas was gay or not.

“Hmmm? Who are you? Are you hitting on my boyfriend?” Stacey stepped forward with her chest puffed out, making everyone around them turn to look at her.

Jasmine really wanted to smack the damn girl. Who was she calling a boyfriend!? She was a girl! David’s mind was spinning. He did not understand what had happened between Jas’s confession and now! Why did it seem like he was just a practice target!? But now that he thought about it, the girl’s words were very off! “No! Why would I hit on a guy!? I am Jas’s best friend!”

“Sorry, you are now Jas’s second best friend. I am first, so go go. Leave us alone. I need to talk with Jas.” Stacey waved at David to shoo him away. She was doing this because she saw Jasmine did not seem very comfortable with this young man. She speculated that maybe this was the idiot who actually rejected Jasmine, who was such a beautiful girl.
