“Bring your mother, here. You both can stay in that court yard. She will also be safe here while you are at the academy. You will have to live within the academy. At least with your mother under my care you will not need to worry about anything bad happening to her.” Master’s offer was something I could not help but tear up at as I nodded my head.

“I will bring Mother over now!” I turned and ran out the door. I did not want to wait another second. Being able to have such a safe place for my mother where she would not always be alone and could breathe the fresh air was something I did not want to wait on.

I quickly made it down the street to the nearest inn before finding a back alley. After making sure no one was around, I went into my space. “Mother!” I saw my mother tending to the herbs and ran up to her, hugging her waist.

“Ruo’er, are you all done?”

“Mmm… but instead of an inn I got us a courtyard within the Heaven’s Pavilion. The Pavilion master, Master Gu took me as his disciples when he found out I made the pills I was selling.” I continued to tell her everything in as much detail as I could, causing her to clap her hands and smile. “I had planned to buy a small courtyard for you after I made enough money but this works out good since I will not need to worry about your safety within the Pavilion.”

“Ruo’er is always thinking of me…” My mother’s eyes turned red. I smiled sweetly at her and hugged her tightly.

“Of course. To have the bestest mother in the entire world how could I not always be thinking of ways to make sure you are safe?” My mother patted my head and cupped my cheeks as she looked at me.

“Ruo’er, just know I will always support your decision on what you do. I know you are worried about me, but I will be fine. You have decided on your path and I will do what I can to make sure you can continue with out worry.” Her words bothered me a little. It was as if she was saying that if I needed to, I could just forget about her. But how could I do such a thing? She starved herself so I could be well-fed. She did her best to raise me on her own. I, for one, would not be able to live with myself if I ever left her behind.

Back in the Heaven’s Pavilion, Gu Xuan was in a very good mood. “Gradpa. You seem very happy now.”

“Of course! To find such a gem and one of the dragon race. She is someone we must protect. Gu Yi, go out and find some clothes for her. Ready made is fine for now. We will make sure she has what she needs. I will go clean up that little court yard. Also get some dresses for a young woman was well. Her mother is coming.”

Gu Yi looked at her grandfather, who was like a young kid who was excited to get a present running off to do chores and smiled. She had not seen him like this in years. But Gu Yi also took a lesson from this. She should not judge those by the type of clothes they wear. They might just be geniuses.

Within Taindao Academy, Bai Yu was standing inside the Dean’s Office. “Sir, that is my report.”

“So the devil sects actually dared to enter our territory?” The Dean’s face was sour. His name was Liang Shen. Most called him Sir, Dean, or Dean Liang.

“Yes and it was Yan Fei. If not for a young girl by the name of Zhi Ruo, I might have gotten myself killed.” Just thinking about how close she came to death made Bai Yu shiver.

“Hmm? The girl who ate the egg? Are you sure she ate it?” The Dean asked, his tone lower than normal.

“There was no egg and she had no space pouch or spatial ring. She was also wearing ratty clothes that had stains on them it was easy to tell if she was hiding it or not. And most importantly she was dragon girl. But more importantly, Sir. She was only about five or six years old and already at stage one qi gathering.”

“She saved my life, I will not let her come to harm.” Bai Yu would never forget this fact. If not for Zhi Ruo, she would have killed Yan Fei and, in the end, would have died as well.
