One thing I feel lucky about is that no one realizes the fact that there was no way I would have been able to eat an entire dragon egg so quickly. I mean, it was the same height as me. If not for the fact that I could move things directly into my pagoda just by touching it, I would never have been able to take the egg. It would have been too awkward to carry! I might be able to lift it over my head, but well, that would have been a very inconvenient way of running through a forest.

“Senior Sister Bai, the egg?” Ming Hao looked at me and then at Bai Yu. My guess is that he was going to cry when he heard that I ate the egg.

“This…. Ahem… it seems that Little Ruo here ate it. So no need to worry about it anymore. We will just return to the Academy. I do have to thank you all for coming out here with me even though we failed to get the egg.” Bai Yu cupped her hand and bowed her head.

“She ate it… She ate a dragon… is that why she has a tail and horns?” Ming Hao looked as if he was about to pass out. “I wish I could have eaten it!”

“Damn, Fatty! All you think about is food! Look at Little Sister Ruo, and look at you. She needed it more than you. Plus, even if we did get the egg, we would have just turned it over to the sect. At least now, Little Sister Ruo will grow stronger.” Longwei winked at me, making me wrinkle my brow.

I elbowed Bai Yu and whispered in a not-so-low voice: “Is he one of those… you know… perverts?”

“What n0! I was just trying to stick up for you!” Longwei looked hurt, but he seemed fun to tease. It did not take too long for him to crack a smile again.

“Anyway, Little Ruo was the first to get to the egg, so it was hers. We have no right to be upset. Plus, I owe her my life. She really did save me from making a mistake that would have gotten me killed. For that, I am willing to give up as many dragon eggs as needed. Now, we should leave.” Bai Yu turned to look at me, took something out of her sleeve, and handed it to me. “This is a token to Taindao Academy. It will alet you take the entrance exam in two months time. I was supposed to give it to my family, but I can not let a talent like you get away.”

I smiled and happily took the token. It was made of green heavenwood. Heavenswood was not your average wood. While it could easily be found, it had to be refined by a talisman master in order to be of any use. They would engrave the symbols onto the heavenswood after it was refined, and all the owner of the wood needed to do was inject their spiritual qi into it. The spiritual qi could not be extracted, but it could be checked to make sure it was indeed the spiritual qi of said person. It was used by all the sects and clans who could afford it.

I am not sure how rare talisman masters are in the mortal realm. Nor will I know until I explore the world more. While I do have mysterious knowledge. I do not have the full scope. I do not know everything about this mortal realm or any realm above that. I am only given enough knowledge to survive. To be honest, I am glad I only know so much. It takes away from the adventure if I knew everything. What fun would there be in that? Although I do know my knowledge of certain things is a little too much for my current growth and age but, those things are important and will keep me alive. Like cultivation methods and sword techniques. Even pill refinement and armament refinement.

These are skills that will allow me to make money to sustain myself as a cultivator. Armaments will help me forge new weapons and even armor. Pill refinement, which is part of alchemy, will help me progress quicker in my cultivation with pills. Luckily, I can make some qi pills and restoration pills. While they might be lower yellow-rank pills, they should still be worth something. At least, I hope. I just need money to get an inn room for the next few months. I guess I could make a beautifying pill. I will need to look to see if they are even available. If they are not sold, I might be able to auction it off.

“We will be leaving first. Little Ruo, be careful when you enter Xiaguang Town. While it looks peaceful on the surface, the top two clans that run the town have been fighting a lot more lately. It won’t matter when you enter the academy, but before that, you may run into issues if you anger one of the clansmen of the two major clans.” Bai Yu was giving me a warning, which was all fine and good, but she could at least tell me the names of the clans.

“Which clans?” I asked. I would rather not step on toes as long as they do not mess with me.

“The Tang and Bu families.” Bai Yu replied. I committed these two surnames to memory. Bai Yu and the others said their goodbyes while I walked through the forest. I could only hope I wouldn’t run into too much trouble in the town before I entered the academy.
