I love you guys truly. The hustle has to be respected ❤️

Cole hauser

Ah yes I cannot wait to see the reaction to the gator encounter🤌🤌.

Dan63

Sweet

Rio Mendoza

Thank you guys. Ok I'm gonna give this show these 2 eps and maybe 2 more. I really hope they capture me better than the first 2.

Darth Brooks

Awesome, just got the notification! Time to dive into some new episodes and relax on my last day off 😊

ang

ahh this made my whole night 🤍

ang

i know it's a slow start but it def picks up and it's so worth it i hope you're able to stick it out

Rio Mendoza

I'll definitely give it a shot. There were a couple things that threw me off with the first 2 but we will see how it goes. I'm really hoping they dive into the father relationship more. I've heard they are going to narrate the entire show which doesn't excite me but maybe it will get better. It's very predictable also I'm hoping 85s more of a mystery unless we are just going to see all the killing all the time. Idk we shall see it's gonna be fun either way. Glad to be here with all of you watching it.

Rhonda Turner

I thought Dexter was "gory and gruesome" - until I watched Game of Thrones... Dexter seems like an angel compared to Ramsey🤣🤣

Stacey Capito

It's been a while since I've seen Dexter and I'm catching things I missed before. I forgot how complex the characters are, and the slower pace of how their stories unfold. "How did my father know that she (the nurse) is like me?" Also, the photo of the father and his shadow was metaphorically foreshadowing. The sister Deb quickly became my favorite character. I enjoy how she is unapologetically direct and raw.

JennaB

I love that you guys have opposing views on Dexter. That's pretty much how the fan base is split...

ang

deb stans unite!!! i love her so much 🥰

CatsandCrafts

Deb is my favourite too! ‘Pretty f*#king please with a cherry on top’ and her thousand other profanities always make me smile, especially the ones where she gets creative! Lol.

Rio Mendoza

Ok these 2 eps were much better than the pilot and the second episode. I'm still not liking the narration of it and it's still pretty predictable but it was better. I have to say Julie Benz I think her name is the girl that plays Dexter's GF she does a fantastic job for the little role she has. Probably the best actor on the show. I like the sister also it getting a little old the shtick with the boss hating her though it's the only thing they talk about. Sort of a running gag. If the show can get more unpredictable I think I would be totally sold it still feels a little bit network TV show for me. But we are getting better. Maybe the next 2 will be even better. Dad relationship is still the best part for me.

Michael Paddon

This season was great with the slow reveals and complex characters. Hearing Dexter's inner thoughts made the show though as often he is laugh out loud funny. You get to know his backstory by the the of this series. Brace yourself.

Brandon Wheeler

Also have to remember the year this came out and what has been put on the screen. This was a first of a kind story telling that evolves so well especially into new blood

Darth Brooks

Inner monologue stays throughout 98% of the series. It's not technically narration though, it's a first person view of what Dexter is currently thinking with what we see through his eyes. All that said this is the show from beginning to end essentially. It's a weird twist on noire and if 4 didn't get ya, 4 more won't BUT I really hope you try it out it does get better story/character wise.

Mikey Sea

I like the music in this show. Just fits the mood of the story so well.

TinCan Cosmanaut

Dexter keeps giving Deb all the info so she gets all the credit and promotions, so dex can keep a low profile

Stacey Capito

Agree that she's integral to the show, especially after his father said Dexter should go to Deb if he needs support after he dies. For me, it's her character that pushed me to continue watching.

Stacey Capito

The inner dialog is an important part of the character story. I'm not a fan of it in most shows, but it's essential to Dexter's character since there isn't another person who exist, since his father's passing, that he can have an open discussion with. He's only honest and open with himself (and us, the viewers). I came to appreciate that aspect of the show since it's smart writing.

Rio Mendoza

Ok what about the big mess up in the show. I think its season 5 or something where the show takes a real bad turn and pissed off most of its viewers. Is it really that bad and do i really want to watch a show for 5 seasons just to have to trek along till the end cause ive already watched 5 seasons?? Or is it still worth it. Thats a lot of hours to spend on a show just to be watching just cause ive been watching. What do you guys think? And is that why the new Dexter show wasnt liked very much ?

Danna

I hope you stay with it. This season is good, but each season gets better. I think every town needs a Dexter. Lol

Rio Mendoza

Oh i definitely will i dont want to be left out lol. Even if its not my favorite show i would still watch it to be part of the conversation. I love watching the reactions and discussing it with all you. There is gonna be things i like and dont like about every show. Im hoping there are more things i like. It will be fun to figure it out.

Code Monkey

I know this isn't book club; but anyone who is a true Dexter fan might find the books enjoyable. This first season pretty much follows the first book faithfully; but after season one the show takes it's own path. They are both equally good in their own way.

Stacey Capito

Thanks! I enjoyed S1 the most out of all seasons, so I'm sure I would like the books. I'm always interested in any info about the books that aren't in the show (as long as it doesn't create any spoilers for those who haven't seen it yet).

Julie A

I don’t have a problem with Julie Benz, but Michael C. Hall is a fantastic actor. I’m still on the fence about whether he was acting or if he is actually a serial killer in real life. 🤣

Stacey Capito

This is just my opinion, but I could definitely tell when the original creators and writers started to exit the show for each season. The quality declined slightly bc there were main character deviations and sudden endings/unfinished storylines. Still, I stuck with it, and I was glad that I did. There's a reason why it broke records for the most widely viewed series ever when it originally aired. Some people didn't really notice, but I watched this for the first time after seeing Breaking Bad (a show with flawless character writers that included meaningful micro details) so I was looking for those neatly tied up loose ends.

LynnC

All seasons of Dexter is on Showtime if you already have a subscription. I know you said you were on a Hulu trial, so wanted to point that out in case you had one.

LynnC

If you never thought you would root for a serial killer, meet Dexter

Rockstar

Rooting for him? That's messed up. Enjoyable characters sure... but who is applauding murder? Oh right...

LynnC

Rockstar, you're too delicate for fiction. Go troll elsewhere

Anonymous

I love villain protagonists! Dexter Morgan, Tony Soprano, Jax Teller, even Hannibal Lector! When you sit there and root for the bad guy, you know it's great writing & fantastic acting.

Anonymous

Thoughts on a Dexter season 1 marathon tonwrap this up?

Rio Mendoza

Deb and the father are my favorite so far I hope the explore that more.

Michele G

That was one of my comments on another video 😂😂 and yes we are rooting for him ! I hope he doesn’t get caught 🫣

Michele G

I think they’re using the showtime add-on in Hulu. Bc I looked at my Hulu and the only way I can watch it is if I buy the premium Showtime add on.

Dan Rosen

My guess is that it's the sister, but don't tell me either way....no spoilers!

Lucifer Moon

I love your reactions though I will never understand the modern human instinct to look down on sex workers. It is mankind's oldest occupation for a reason, sex work is one of only few occupations that is actually truly natural (according to recent studies in zoology, biology, anthropology, etc.) to humans as a species and is a direct result of our success as a species. Prostitution / sex work only develops among highly evolved successful species such as humans and our nearest evolutionary cousins (higher level apes). I would never engage with it because I am married and I can understand people not wanting to have contact with such work on a personal level but there is no need or objective reason to look down on the occupation or dehumanize sex workers. Anyways that's my opinion. Respect and love.

Kevin Przy

depends on your needs, if you follow a religion that looks down on it then there is a "need" to and just because something is old doesn't make it okay to the billions of different people on this planet.

Daniel

Prostitution is not illegal in Canada, it is just illegal to offer for a fee. You can give it away willy nilly all day long.

Rockstar

Wrong. It's not the oldest occupation. And there are plenty of reasons to consider it negative.
