Today I'm joined with Esalen Professor Emeritus (@PastichePsyop) for part 2 of our conversation about esoteric Santa Cruz.

We continue to talk about Domhoff, the Christ Circle, Bohemian Grove, the beatniks, troubled teen rehabs, Synanon, Arthur Hempel, communes, data mapping of dog mutilation incidents, nudist colonies, and Ed Kemper. Even Thomas Pynchon. It's a great episode.

Jimmy, this stuff is great. It takes a while to parse these episodes but keep em coming! Any chance we could get a deeper look at Enochian magic or Anton Wilson or H S Thompson?

The beatnik, esalen, mk and psychology connections made me think of the simpsons ep “hurricane neddy” S8E8 - SUPER dark subtext with this history in mind…. “Damn beatniks….”

Also, do the beauty schools perhaps have a connection to jay sebring’s circle of influence in the industry?

Just a passing thought, but have you ever seen the movie 'The Lost Boys'? Its set in a fictionalized version of Santa Cruz (and shot in Santa Cruz). One of the plot points is that the town has an exceptional amount of murders/missing people. In the film its due to vampires, but I wonder if there are any noticeable PTK connections...
