Dennis Kelly (the creator/writer) said he didn't want to model any of the characters as true heroes but instead wanted them to be real people from every day life, which meant having complex morality: "We're never all good. We're never all bad. We're a mixture of both." He nailed it and Wilson/Arby/Mike are perfect examples of each of those. Like you and Jessica were saying: there are no sides, just people who help and people who don't. I may be wrong, but I think Ian is the only character who has consistent morality. Alice comes close, but even she has a dark side, and on the flipside, Jeff (the Minister of Health) also seems pure evil (you called him the devil at one point) but even shows some reluctance and dread when it came time to get his hands dirty. I do agree with you that Jessica and Arby steal the spotlight because they have more fluid morality than the other characters though, which is tough considering how amazing everyone's performances were! Btw, you probably weren't looking at the wrong Top 10 lists. I have no idea how anyone who likes Dramas/Mysteries can not like this show, but I've heard it didn't really catch on because of the graphic violence. Dennis Kelly said that he wanted the violence to be so disturbing because torture and murder should always make you uncomfortable. I think he has a point and pulled it off, but it was probably just too much for people (especially as a TV show). Either way, I'm glad you gave it a shot and enjoyed it! Now for Season 2. :)

Oh, and I forgot to mention: your reaction to the end of Anya's apartment scene was fucking amazing. I don't think I've ever seen someone go from :D to :O so fucking fast LMAO!
