I love all of your work, but this one is one of my absolutely favourites. The level of (small and large) detail, the lighting, the mood. All of it is so beautifully evocative. So, seeing how it all came together (including the changes in design decisions) in this process GIF is a real treasure. Thank you!

Thank you so much! I really like to draw pixel art with outlines, but still searching for a good way to render textures in this style (and if it’s needed at all), so it’s always a great pleasure and a great struggle to draw it. But I was so enthusiastic when I was drawing this particular illustration, and I tried to add more hand-drawn animation, so I’m absolutely happy to receive such feedback! ❤️ Maybe I should be more confident and make more illustrations like this one.

It would be interesting to see what extra textures could look like with the outlines, but like you, I wonder if they're necessary. The animation is wonderful. I hope you're becoming more confident, you should be, I think!
