the lakers having the audacity to challenge an obvious foul when they already attempted 30 fts to our 10 had me so hot

Major Powers

Mike Breen laughed at Draymond passing that one up lol

Anonymous

I lost confidence in Kay being willing to adapt his game. I think we need to trade him before we get stuck with him or let him go for nothing.

Ballin Forever

I aint gon lie yall.. These losses are traumatizing. We gota be #1 in go ahead buckets scored on us... Super tough to watch game after game

Anonymous

Not again 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

At this point I'm ready to be done watching the NBA altogether. That was a trash frustrating manipulated game. The NBA just sucks

decomplexify5000

great play by play breakdown. Kerr should have brought in TJD much earlier. Wonder if he'll get the memo. Separately and I don't want to sound like a conspiracy nut: how many games has it been where steph has bandages on one of his knees and the other is covered with a knee pad?

Dashaya Toney

Spent more time sucking off Lebron than praising Steph...lol

Chip Tingle

I guess my mood is dialing up, as I completely dug watching this game despite the loss. Maybe I’ve also given up on anything more than playin, so lower expectations, dunno. Energy level, especially Wiggs and Dray, was so damn encouraging after all the struggles. Boards, D, screens, pace, competitiveness! Gimme this and I can accept most any outcome, that John Wooden kind of approach. Flopping absolutely sucks both ways, and needs to be severely penalized, maybe financially afterwards by the tape. I was hoping JK would get into AD’s body, then use that beautiful fade away he’s developed. I don’t think I saw it once against the D Maestro. Props to the Lakers for a lotta great play, even Vando when he wasn’t flopping. I love watching him play D and board like a mini Rodman. Starting/closing 5 has been found to both eyes and stats. Let ‘em see what they can do from here on out, unless an obvious trade lands. 🙏Alch

ALCH at least after this you got a MONDAY off to catch up on the rest. So enjoy the Niners. Take Monday night and Tuesday Day off, and see you after the 6ers.

Also HOPE your daughter did well.

athleticalchemy

Appreciate you pointing out the positives. You are right it was a great game, the context of the season made it hard to appreciate

Dlo trying to not get traded 😂

Gary

Y’all see Steph tear his jersey as he walked off. He’s frustrated as hell. If Draymond had been around the whole season this starting lineup could’ve clicked into place months ago. Honestly, with Deki having DIED during a team dinner, this season is cursed. All the tight games haven’t gone their way since the 6-2 start. It’s not meant to be. They got too many lucky bounces from the gods in the last decade. They gon be in the lottery and don’t even have their own pick. Just not their season … karmic payback after 2022. It’s all good.

athleticalchemy

Force loon to get in shape by benching him and at the same time let him recover a bit from the wear in tear of the season

athleticalchemy

They beat their rival on the road Thursday for first in the region but then had an emotional let down Friday at my daughter’s old school and they face guarded her the whole time, completely took her out. They just had her standing in the corner. But they are still in position to win the Region

decomplexify5000

really what we're all saying is that we should have kept DLo, right? :)

Anonymous

"from the rooter to the tooter" was worth the entire $7 this month. I'm still wheezing.

Anonymous

I'm already at peace with this season being lost..... we're headed for the lottery!

No I'm sorry, I disagree with Pods shooting the ball at the end of double overtime. I WHOLEHEARTEDLY disagree. This is part of a bigger problem of us over trusting this rookie. He makes a lot of Jordan Poole-esc plays and we always just look the other way. If we aren't careful, we will have another JP on this team. That was a bad decision, there's no way around it. He needs to understand his position on this team and give the ball to Steph, Klay or Draymond like Kuminga did at the end of the Kings game. That was our last chance to win the game and Pods threw up a transition 3 in 2OT with under a minute left?!?! C'mon man, let's not have double standards. TJD can barely get 5 minutes and we have a rookie with the greenest light I've seen in a while from a rookie on this team, wtf. Where was this grace with Kuminga during his first year, fuck it, during his 3rd year!?!?

Kahlil Baker

Anyone else wonder why Steve had 3 small guards in with no back line defense? I know Wiggins fouled out and so did Klay but to not have TJD to help protect the rim to end the game was stupid AF!

Vulacior

Hopefully this is a permanent mindset change from wigs, not just a stint of energy before he falls back into whatever demons he was dealing with. Maple Jordan and Air Congo would be the most athletic wing duo in the league, put Podz in as well and their offensive rebounding threat would be immense.

Hg80

My biggest fear when we got Podz was Kerr putting him on Lebron in a critical moment. Few coaches in the league would make that mistake. Kerr is not a coach for teams with small margins for error like we are now. I know he’s playing this new Fast Five lineup despite his instincts. My hope is that they start winning games before he reverts back to his old ways

decomplexify5000

Could he have slowed it down and given the ball to Steph or Draymond? Definitely. Has he been making rookie mistakes lately? Yes. Is he making Poole-like mistakes? Not really. He gets back on D and doesn't slide around and flop like Poole. He doesn't complain like Poole. Comes down to this: Kerr could have subbed in CoJo after Klay fouled out. Go bigger and more seasoned, not smaller and inexperienced.

this is one of the funniest ones ive ever heard. im rolling

Anonymous

I don’t watch anymore. Only the breakdowns. It’s not enjoyable this year. Most games. Not just warriors games.

Anonymous

he didnt get put on lebron the screened kuminga off lebron till they got the switch

Anonymous

Can’t even be mad at the warriors for this one with the lopsided calls.. I’d say our starting lineup should be steph, klay, dray, JK and dario… I like the spacing in that line up the only question is defensively on a night to night basis

Ballin Forever

He's nowhere near Poole with making bone headed plays. And whenever he does try something.. its usually an attempt to make a needed play. Whenever he takes a shot.. its when the offense is stagnant and they need a release valve. Poole had no conscious whatsoever BPOD plays his ass off on both ends.. he crashes the boards hard... he's alert and attentive. If we are telling him to not take shots like that... thats not only putting a cap on his confidence.. but also the future of this team. That shot is apart of his game and his development. Now if he was taking pullup transition 3s multiple times a game.. then i would agree with you.

Anonymous

Seems like most of this season or maybe after spraining his knee he’s wearing the knee pad?

Hg80

That’s kind of what I mean. Lebron and almost every team besides us, hunts for favorable matchups. They were guaranteed to switch on to Podz. Why not have TJD out there instead?

Anonymous

I feel like podz been a headless chicken for a bit now. Probably just mentally hit that rookie wall.

Thomas Ogas

This is the sort of attitude that is rotting this franchise and this fanbase. This whole idea that these younger players are only there to serve the whims and egos of Kerr's Trusted Vets. And that the only thing a rookie should be doing is deferring to the Old players. Podz played the fast break exactly how it was coached. He had a wide open 3. The correct play is to take that shot while the others hustle for the O-rebound if he misses.

decomplexify5000

Looking at the warriors YT channel, he has bandages on his left knee on Nov 18 vs. OKC. Late last season, mostly his right knee. I must be trippin.

Anonymous

I would have said the same thing if Klay was the one to shoot the ball. When you have a lead, WASTE TIME! I don't care if you're a superstar or a high school player. What I'm saying is, we have this blind spot for Podz that we do not give to Kuminga. Kuminga is the future, what do you meant "trusted vets," screw the vets. I'm saying, Podz makes a few good plays and all of sudden his leash is looser than every rookie in the league. Kuminga makes a single mistakes and he's benched, TJD doesn't even get minutes usually. Podz had a big chance to give us a reset and he decided to shoot a TRANSITION 3 with under 1 minute to go. I'm sorry, you cannot convince me that this is "okay." It's just like Saric, where he makes a few threes and everyone is so happy they forget he's a TRAFFIC CONE on defense. I don't have favoritism for the vets, I'm on Steph's ass for every dumb turnover he makes. I'm just saying we have to be consistent about accountability. If Kuminga had the ball there, drove to the basket and smoked a layup early in the shot clock, we would have been all over his ass about making mistakes. Podz shoots and TRANSITION 3 and, "oh that's the shot we want him to take!" WTF!?!?!?

anyway we can get these on YouTube again?

athleticalchemy

Whenever it’s over 13 min the nba and YouTube block it. I provide a extra streamable link in the comments and a YouTube link when ever possible

As I was watching the game, there were 4 moments for me where I think Kerr decided the game for us First, as you called out, putting Dario and Looney in with Klay/Podz/Kuminga. Apart form the overall struggles of Dario and Loon there, this lineup also just doesn't have scoring, as only Kuminga can create for himself in that rotation, and he was timid the entire game.. Second, when Klay hit 2 threes almost back to back in 2nd quarter and got benched soon after.. Kerr seems to enjoy stifling the momentum for our players like that way too often Third, as you called out, I was screaming "YES, EXACTLY" at the screen when PBJ finally got in and immediately you could see the impact was insane in protecting the rim and scoring opportunities. And forth was going with a very small lineup in the end there instead of bringing PBJ back in for defense. I'm no conspiracy theorist but does Kerr have a bet on GSW not making the playoffs...?

Rug Ntar

Kerr system is guard oriented and all we have now is steph and podz as far as ball handling…it’s tough out there but kerr trusted his vets too much and really has shown a lot of arrogance this season with his choices…this warriors team never reached it’s full potential…Dray killed our chances but there was an opportunity to elevate kuminga and moody, get a rotation based on merit and not past accomplishments…i think they should start looking around the league for a wiggins trade…we can’t beg him to care…

yan't get right

Ngl, last night was some of the most fun I've had watching a warriors game all season. Even though the result sucked. It felt like Lebron was the MOST chill I've seen him lately, rarely bickering to the refs, and I sense it could be because he knew that this was an S-tier statement game and he was trying to cherish playing against guys who he's gone against his whole career; probably his only contemporaries in terms of legacy. I felt the same energy from the warriors also. There was just a constant willingness from both sides to return the punches. Might be one of the last times ever we see both the core 3 AND LeBron available, but also willing to give each other their best shots. And gotta give Kerr his credit for playing up to that with the lineup changes. It feels like this kind of January excitement might really turn both teams' seasons around.

Anonymous

But having not our pick unless it is top 4, which seems unlikely

Anonymous

Despite the outcome I loved this game. Game of the year so far for me. Have to appreciate seeing Steph and Lebron battle like they did. Gonna miss that when it’s gone.

John Z

Vando hitting the deck every time should've been techs, dude was flopping like crazy. I respect his hustle, but this shit is ridiculous, crazy that flopping is such a necessary advantage nowadays on O and D and we are terrible at it. Dray definitely got away with a few too, had like three different fouls to the face. Lucky they aren't looking into like usual. Shit happens to us though, it's marginal contact. Appreciate the work as always.

Anonymous

Great video as always! I agree JK seemed more timid than usual but I didn't think it had to do with AD (good point though), I honestly just assumed he was hyper concerned with making the right play so that steve didn't yank him out the first chance he got. For me, he gave off the energy of a guy who was playing to prove his coach he can fit with them instead of his usual "who else wants to get put in the basket" vibe.

Andreas Wiedemann

Im not convinced we should give up anything right now to give the vets another shot. They created the situation themselves. I still dont like the idea of trading wiggins on an all time low value. I hate all the trades that float around at the moment. (Exept yours dario for hayes) I hope they trade klay now to give him another titleshot if hes not willing to resign on a big cut. Same with cp, it just doesnt work this year. Beeing tiny and old doesnt win you games apparently.

Anonymous

Think Marcus Thompson wrote a piece that said the warriors “are not who they used to be, this is who they are now”. It’s been a hard season to watch, but have to credit Kerr that he’s slowly adjusting to who the warriors are now in his coaching.

Christian Hollaway

Why don't you take a few more cheap shots at Steph and Klay. That's super entertaining to listen to.

athleticalchemy

Do you know how many hours of content I have made covering this team? It can’t be praise all the time

Ryan becker

I wouldn't trade Wiggins. No value in the league is absurd dude is a baller.

Anonymous

I know im looking ahead but at JK's current pace does he have a chance to win MIP?

Jimmy Ji

Whenever the Lakers and Warriors play against each other, you are for sure to see shenanigans with the officiating because the Lakers and Warriors are arguably the two most popular franchises in the entire league. I wouldn't be surprised if these two teams are amongst the most heavily wagered teams across all of sports gambling. If you don't think the NBA is privy to that type of information, it's time to stop living under a rock. This is why I always keep my fandom in check.

Chip Tingle

Rewatching now, and sadly Loon/Saric were so immediately bad on both ends…turnovers, missed bunnies, bad transition, bad contests…I’m betting we see a lot more TJD moving forward, especially to spell Dray where his endurance at C is a yellow flag. Can TJD cover the arc? Stay outta foul trouble? Become more active passer? To add to his PnR threat game? Especially against the best 4/5’s in the league?

yan't get right

Yeah, it felt to me like he might’ve even had some nerves. Big game, going down to the wire against a rival where it was clear he has finally gotten the buy in from the coaching staff, not to mention ESPN was talking him up like a star. Will bode well for him because these are the type of games where he’ll need to come of age and become a real secondary threat

John Pettus

I'm watching this AFTER the Niners breakdown and I hope that Niners game gave you LIFE like it did for me.

Nathan Glanzer

Damn we were up 9 that late? Shitty.
