Looney offensively is far more potent when he is being fed by a scorer. The windows at the rim off a Draymond pass are always centimeters deep cuz no one is coming at the ball. Although Wiggins and Klay are not the passers Dray is, one could argue, with more opportunity, they could be more efficient facilators and IMO Poole is already the most gifted passer on the roster. Kuminga also has shown flashes of being plus passing inside to bigs as he penetrates. Not something to fixate on too much till the Finals are over, but Looneys production as the sole big is intriguing and I'm curious what the metrics will show in the non Dray minutes for this series and in the Finals.

Strong takes my guy! I agree! And I think we are probably both angling at you know who being you know where

Loon must have found Big Vic Alexander's old bag of clever layups somewhere in the locker room, there's a strong flashback to Vic's layup game in all these layups Loon is suddenly converting. Maybe Wiseman isn't the only big that might be befitting from bringing in staff to coach up the bigs.

Really hope Wiggins heals up fast. Series will turn if he's out or limited

So glad Moody finally got some run. I had a feeling he was going to get a shot this series because he played brilliantly in our final regular season matchup in Dallas. It was the game where Kerr left Moody to close and he shot 5/5 in the 4th (although we lost). Dallas has done a good job of neutralizing Draymond's best traits as a defender with their small ball spread offense. Surrounding Luka with four effective 3-point shooters really makes it difficult for Draymond to sag off and become a help defender. Compound the fact that he's not an offensive threat, it's really not a surprise why he struggled so mightily in this game. Just analyzing the box score, the Mavs hit 21 threes and STILL lost. A lot of it has to do with the fact we pretty much matched their 21 3-pointers with our 62 points scored in the paint. Those were all high efficiency shots and our guys stuck with the Kerr gameplan by staying disciplined and not forcing unnecessary 3s (ended with a better 3 point fg% as compared to Dallas). Hell of a playoff win!

One key thing between Loon and Dray in this series is that Loon dribbles out and sometimes across the paint to screen for his guards. Klay, Wiggs, Poole are offensively comfortable with Loon than with Dray right now.

Thanks for the linkage. Somehow I never seem to have trouble seeing the video, but it must be frustrating dealing with YouTube etc.

Loon’s offense was just a response to guard penetration (instead of settling for 3’s); it’s his defense that is under-recognized. What other big man (including those who win Defensive Player of the Year) takes on guards after switches in the way that Loon does? And who sets better screens? Where is the money going to come from to sign Poole and Looney? To be fair Luka is obviously sick, which drains him. I’m not sure a healthy Luka would be the difference but the games would be closer. Where the hell is Dinwiddie? He is invisible.

Getting to this one late on Game 3 day. Thanks Alch! Love the Klay D analysis, as we know it’s not fully back yet, but you show exactly how he can remain effective. Will Wiggs and Loon keep up the attack on the paint? I don’t see what’s to stop them over 48. Love the crickets on night-night Steph move. Go groove

Where that game 3 breakdown at?
