i am not mad about the lost. As long as Klay is improving every game!!!

Memphis has got to be the team we play where the warriors show up the least motivated. Wiseman would help some issues but to be honest all thats needed is Andrew Wiggins to increase his physicality (foul hunt) against this team. Get JJJ in foul trouble and go from there. Dray would put it over the top. I just sense a lack of pride from wiggins when they play memphis especially considering how awful he was against them in the play in

Anonymous

im with you, we need Kuminga to get experience to chase down block the next Point God, plus JWise. Def need to get those boys firing on all cylinders to compete for a title this year. And yah, Looney is a solid rotation player, but we need another Big that is more dynamic. I wonder how Bob and Joey Pockets feel about the depth chart after this game. We may not have had the DPY on the court, but we def need to either trade for a win now Big, or get King Koopa and JWise battle tested for the playoffs. Def excited when Killa is fully unleashed. And yah, i think Drey helps with Klay and Steph's vibe on the court like you said on the pod in terms of an escape goat, but his facilitation also is why i think he makes it all work for those two. Having someone who is pretty much dedicated to getting them clean looks, setting picks, is integral to the offensive schemes, and his 1st option is to find them on the court, priceless for their dynamic. Respect to Ja, hated him and that squad last year in the play-in game, feeling more respect for the greatness he is exuding.

Andreas Wiedemann

i like the Grizzlies. Respect! They wanna know and we got to show up at our best. Adversity is good right now. I would have loved to see moody getting some lee minutes, just to smell the gritty athmosphere a little more and find out what he is about.

Anonymous

for sure felt the chemistry issues last night. feel like all our high bball iq guys are super eager to defer to steph and now klay but need to figure out when to assert themselves. feel like poole will have no problem with that esp coming off the bench, just concerned about wiggins who seems all too eager to defer- that one fast break you highlighted where he passed to klay on the wing when only bane was back on D has me concerned

12-8 in their last 20 games. Trying not to panic here but if Steph keeps shooting like this, they are going to HAVE to make a trade to get a ring. He's just too inefficient right now to build an Offense around, and he's been terrible on Defense.

Anonymous

I dont trust Kerr to have Kuminga in the playoff rotation. I feel like he's just gonna stick with JTA

Dami I

steph has actually been pretty solid defensively and im confident his shot will come around soon. This season we're 22-0 when he shoots better than 40% and 7-8 when he shoots below that mark.

Anonymous

I saw Klay jumping up and down too, plus the first game how he reacted to the Phantom foul call. I don't remember Klay being so demonstrative in my years watching him. I know the second one he knows his minutes were limited and he would've gotten a far better shot than the one Steph took.

Dami I

yea i think time will fix that and playing together more. Although steve might need to run some set plays more often and have more a fixed rotation so guys know and are ready.

Jimmy Ji

It almost feels like Ja is unstoppable at the end of close games. He's always going downhill with the high pick and once he gets into the lane he's so difficult to defend. Not having Draymond really hurt our defense, 58 points in the paint for Memphis with about half of that coming off turnovers. I'm with you, we are going to need Wiseman and Kuminga in a playoff series against this Memphis team. We got one more against Memphis on 3/28 and it will be on the back end of a back-to-back but hopefully by then Klay will be off his minutes restriction, Draymond will be back and Wiseman will be ready to give us some rim protection. Kuminga was listed inactive with an injury/illness, do you know what that is about?

Anonymous

I don't even care that we lost, this game actually made me feel better about things. We looked alot better in this game than we really have in any of the other games Draymond has missed. I think fans need to stop thinking of Memphis as this pesky upstart team and more like a title contender, there isn't anything they don't have especially with Morant playing like this. There is a reason they are 8-2 vs the top teams in the west

Anonymous

Where is Kuminga? Is he in the Health and Safety Protocol? This was a match up against a tall, athletic team. That is the match up where he can help us. Far more than JTA. Not saying he has to play 28 minutes. However, the last couple of games I found myself thinking, "What if Kuminga were in there instead of Looney or JTA?" So many instances where those two cannot finish inside, but JK could with his size, strength, and athleticism. I see the same thing defensively as well. He's not going to become rotation viable sitting on the bench while JTA, et al., are taking all those minutes.

Anonymous

I read that JK is dealing with some knee soreness. Very well. However, he has needed to play more even before this road trip. Kerr is going to have loosen up a little and give the kid some minutes.

Milwaukee up next.... another tough game!

Wiggs did seem a beat slow defensively all night

Aye Alc, vids keep getting better and better man. I wanted to raise something with you that i don't recall you touching on very much but its been nagging me for a fair few years now. I'm as big of a Steph fanboy as you'll come across but i have pretty consistently felt disappointed with his late game output. I feel like he rarely knocks down the shots in the clutch that we need him to hit - and that he is clearly good enough to be able to hit. I want nothing more for him to get the glory of hitting late winners but it seems to me that he very rarely produces in these situations, especially compared to others around the league who seem to do it every couple of weeks (Ja for example, Kyrie ofc, Dame or even Lebron these days). I know some pundits have spoken about this but my opinion doesn't come from them, rather just from watching games over the years. You got an opinion on Steph's ability and history of hitting meaningful late game shots?

Anonymous

Say my name say my name Alch haha but nah thanks for the S/O. Glad you saw what I was talking about with the lack of dexterity with the left hand. Maybe a re-aggravation of the broke hand from 2020? I don’t know. But he’s definitely shying away from it.

Anonymous

You would think Kerr would have learned from the play in to put GP2 on Ja. Why he didn’t play in the first quarter against him is beyond me. And 15 of the 29 of Ja’s points came from the 1st quarter alone. Also if you Juan T, you have to be benched when you let slow more blow by you to the paint. Warriors perimeter defense on corners are always bad for some reason.

Anonymous

Did anyone else notice how much better they looked when Steph was on ball in the 3rd?

Anonymous

Isiah Thomas calling Ja the next Derrick rose seems very fitting. The ridiculous athleticism that is definitely intimidating because of his ability to control it for the most part. Russ has never not looked out of control so you always kind of knew he was gonna beat himself. But Memphis is definitely a scary team. As you said alc, we’re gonna be fine… no dray, klay on 20 mins. I was happy to see Steph not hang his head as much as the past few games when he would miss shots. Instead he tried to impact the game in other ways. I was always taught that if your shot is off, try to get to the line, get after it on defense or just try to get some boards to give yourself a little rhythm within the game. Im interested to see ho

Anonymous

How the team continues to gel with klay, scared Wiggins is going to fall into the shadows if we don’t force him touches

Anonymous

Alc, if you were the GM, do you pull a trade for a back up big now before it’s too late? Im scared because of loon goes down… we’re fucked.

Anonymous

16 finals in his head, or he is just really unlucky. A three is also much more inconsistent than a Morant drive to the basket

Anonymous

Bucks and Grizzles the only teams that I believe are the favourites against us in a 7 game series, like you said style makes fight

Anonymous

Saw that Klay had the "give me the ball" frustration. That is not the Klay that I have watched for years, MR Mellow Himself. There is no doubt he has worked hard on his drives. Actually, he kind of shocked me with those drives. What I am curious about did he work on his Psyche? Is he going to be more aggressive in demanding the ball?

Anonymous

I don’t know what it is, but I don’t much care for Ja. Somebody needs to hard foul him.

Natto Santo

First of all, Warriors are looking down on Grizz’s defensive ability-Big mistakes. The careless passes just turns into Fast break points for them. Also agreed on JTA, do not sub him for Green-another Big Mistake. This kid is not solid, he only knows tricks but not fundamentals. Excited on Klay, he will lift us up. Happy to see Bejli is shooting fast now. He needs to practice more on his trigger. If Beli and OPJ are the solid shooters, we will never lost our edge. Lastly, Steph is obviously not coping well with his body now. It seems to me he lost that quick reflex as age catches on. But sooner or later, it will be fine. His D is up now. Still very effective as a leader.

John Pettus

I had this same thought during the game. I don't know that Wiggs is assertive enough to take over games when he isn't usually asked to do that and there is usually gonna be a Splash Bro on the court.

John Pettus

He was doing a bunch of spastic foul-drawing which reminded me of the worst part of Luka's game. He has one where he shook himself so hard, he got the whistle BEFORE he jumped into Andre. So annoying.

Major Powers

Who does Wiseman+Wiggins+Poole get you right now, theoretically speaking. I still don't wanna trade Wiggs but he's gotta be in any deal for $.

Bailey

Had a good run in the 3rd quarter when Steph was running the show. If they want to experiment and figure it out can they do it for some other game? What outcome were they expecting with the rotations, JTA as a starter and GP2 used sparingly. Yeah let's give the Grizzlies MORE confidence. Knowing Draymond is out I don't think Kuminga and Moody should've been in a G-League game in Mississippi. Kuminga got injured. Hopefully Weatherspoon is available.

Anonymous

Yeaa, i really think ownership should consider forcing his hand and cuz the JTA minutes appear to be a cancer. He has a game every 2 weeks that makes the casual viewer a believer, but he's essentially in the way of Kuminga getting his guaranteed 15-19 minutes a game They may want to attach a 2nd rounder to JTA and just get a 7-foot body before the deadline as our "just in case" big at the end of the bench for insurance but really it would be an addition by subtraction cuz it would force Kuminga into the regular rotation

Nathan Glanzer

Good to see a comeback. But not much else good about this game.

Anonymous

anyone you want... Dame, Beal, Sabonis, Wood, Collins the reason you can get anything with that package though is the Warriors would be a substantially worse team if they moved off Wiggins and Poole The numbers suggest Wiggins alone not only a better fit but a more efficient impact on the offense than either Dame or Beal not to mention he's a top 10 defender in the West

Anonymous

Feels like a divisional game every time we play them

Anonymous

Alch, how deep of a playoff rotation you think Kerr would prefer to utilize come the postseason? 8,9,10? Throughout the rest of these 82, Looney will most likely play the 5, however, despite the size of the West, how big Klay, Otto, and JPII play for their positions, wouldn't it be more interesting tactic to force our opponents hands with Dray at the 5 and either Otto or JPII in the starting rotation, especially with these flashes of how big Klay can play inside the paint for small spurts? If that's the case though, not sure where Looney really lends himself useful cuz he has looked like a large blowup doll in the 2nd unit without the Curry gravity If they were to go small for starting and closing, 12-16 minutes of Wisemen or Kuminga off the bench against 2nd units (even with their mental lapses) would be more ideal The reason I ask about the number of playoff rotation players is, ownership may want to consider forcing Kerr's hand by either A.) moving JTA + a 2nd for just a 7 foot body at the end of the bench as insurance (somebody that a team was considering buying out in the first place) or B.) packaging Looney + JTA + plus a 1st or 2 for a single player with more playoff upside, like Theis out of Houston. It would force Kerr to utilize Kuminga more with JTA out but with 1, Curry, 2 Klay, 3, Wiggs, 4, Dray, 5, Poole, 6, Otto, 7, JPII even if we're going 9 deep in the playoffs, all this depth starts to lose a bit of its value right when the rotation gets slimmed down?

Major Powers

"Fortune favors the bold!" is one of my favorite sayings. It's been bastardized in commercial parlance to now be something like "luck goes to the brave" but that's some buster ass mark shit.

Anonymous

what i like about Ja's game is it feels old school, dude goes at people, his physical gifts gives him a ferocious confidence. with all the young cats idolizing steph and valuing the 3 ball, it's refreshing to see someone like Ja who is that dominate going beast mode at the rim.

Anonymous

Lots of theories being thrown around about Steph's slump -- I want to throw mine in here Steph is a magician. We see it time and time again. His playstyle flaunts typical shot selection, and it's what makes him so dangerous; keeps defenders guessing. I would argue that a large part of what fuels his shot making, and his overall game is his sense of joy and fun. His magic. It's infectious, and is part of what enables the warriors motion system to function. Not just the complex attack and the actions; the fun. Steph does not look like he's having fun out there. And I don't blame him. He's a father. In the middle of a global catastrophe. Trying to perform as the engine of a billion dollar brand. Reassure his kids that the sky isnt falling. Take care of his body. His wife. So he might be a little preoccupied; the magic might not be flowing quite as freely. On Klay's return, that excitement was tangibly back. For a quarter. He hit 3 threes in that first quarter. You could see that spark again, just for a moment. I'm sure he's chipped up, but he's played well chipped up before, or rested. For now I think its really a symptom of the mental pressure that I'm sure we all feel. And for someone who's game relies on that whimsy, it's going to look really different without it. I hope he can destress soon and get back to having fun.

Anonymous

Please for all that is holy stop trying to be cute with it. Kerr needs to stick with what works, play steph on ball and stop playing bums in key minutes. I see this retarded lineups in the non curry minutes. Dlee and JTA are not long term pieces, so stop playing them in a regular rotation. They should be seen as nothing more than a spot option based on matchup. Honestly should trade Both, too bad the nepotism keeps lee on the roster. Get another big and play to your strengths. I want to see kuminga play more and moody should get more minutes too. Wiseman is expected to be some staggering paint presence and that ain’t gonna happen. He is too raw and young. He would be forced to play key minutes despite his inexperience. When I see klay sit I get upset, this offense is so much more dynamic with him on it and it’s a shame that draymond is out.

Anonymous

Is it just me, or do I trust Klay with the ball in late game situations more than Curry? With the way Curry has been finishing around the rim, im preferring Klay's middle over Curry's long contested 3s

athleticalchemy

it does.. I think with our roster in particular tho, we need insurance for OPJ and Andre.. but id love Theis.. im not sure teams view JTA as a NBA player outside of the Steph system

Anonymous

Eh the fact that Klay looked solid is a win in of itself. It's not a question anymore what Klay Thompson are we going to get? Will he still be Klay? The answer is yup and then some from looks of it. He seems stronger some how and has shown more elements to his game than before already and this is just his second game back. He is on minutes restrictions but he doesn't looked gassed at all. Yeah not mad at this game. No Dray, Steph ate too much bbq out there and we still had it within 3 with a minute left. Can't be mad at that.

John Z

Takes Kerr up until were dead to realize it.

Siddhant S

Iggy is done unfortunately. It’s sad to see.

Anonymous

I'd like to see Klay running around more. It's not beautiful to see.

Alch... My boy Al horford .. how much longer can dude run up and down the court with these young Celtic boys..
