17-2 the Dubs are wrecking shop!

Anonymous

Dame just doesn’t look like he’s having fun on that team anymore.

Anonymous

Im waiting on the bucks, i think we can take the suns with our defense. Lakers are in shambles, brooklyn isnt that good, kawhi is injured for now, the only team im not sure about is the bucks, cant wait.

Anonymous

Don't get me wrong I'm still excited for each game but I'm starting to count down the days till Klay is back.

Anonymous

i would argue ben wallace is the best rim protector under 6’10? they have him listed at like 6’7 but he looks like he’s no taller than 6’4 tbh

Anonymous

"He's been respectful to his father steph and uncle dray" LOL too good. also that klay post game shit was real emotional man I can't wait till he comes back

Anonymous

The way I cackled when he said "point loon" lmaoo

Great last line about Thompson Alch.....

Ken Bradford

Being on a winning team might finally unlock a consistent Wiggins last year was one of his two best seasons and that's being a 8 seed twice nothing more. Really happy with him after the slow start and more optimistic about him staying consistent than I would've been

Anonymous

Poor Klay, he probably feels like he's ready to go but the coaching staff will still correctly hold him back and let him get more confident. I'm gonna fucking cry when he steps foot on the court for the first time. I am absolutely loving what I'm seeing from Poole so far, not just in his play, but in his demeanor. He's getting louder, spicier, and more confident with how he carries himself every day, and it all bodes well for his potential as a future lead scorer. That being said, Steph is probly gonna play at an MVP level until he's 40, so he's got time. Many were concerned about the organization trying to win and develop at the same time (myself included), but it's looking like the old guard is passing along everything they know to the youngsters and developing them into an extremely promising future core for themselves. A Poole, Wig, King Kuminga, and Wiseman lineup is gonna be spooky if there are no major setbacks

I think a lot of people--including myself!--forgot that rookies and younger players, with their energy, their raw hunger, and the total lack of jadedness, can be a massively important ingredient on a team like the Warriors, where the core have been to the Finals 5 times. Also, by establishing defense as the key to getting minutes, Kerr guarantees the rookies will get a chance if they play hard and smart, spend their time in the weight room, the film room, and the Curry room (the Warriors' practice facilities.)

Here's a short clip of fans chanting "Thompson" post-game. LetsGoWarriors had a full video of it on youtube but looks like they pulled it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ShMTh_Of9c8

I've been wondering if Jordan Bell hanging out in Santa Cruz is him waiting for Loony's contract to end. If he could do everything Loon does, but more athletic.. that would be a solid reserve.

"Father Steph and Uncle Draymond" ☠️☠️☠️☠️

Anonymous

I don’t think any of us are prepared as we think we are for the return of Klay

Anonymous

Klay prob out on the boat late with chicks and just taking a nap :)

Anonymous

what about CJ or Jerami Grant? Dame and CJ aint ever gonna work and god knows ho many years Portland has needed a big wing. Have Simons start along side Dame he looks ready.

Anonymous

I feel like JP and Melo share DNA. Maybe it’s just mentality but what is nice is I think JP had a lot less ego getting picked they way he did. Moreover, JP is lucky he is in a place/culture where isn’t the guy and isn’t allowed to let his ego and game get lopsided. If Melo had been raised up in a Champ environment I think he would have been a much better player overall, probably true for most players. Grateful our young guys get to be around Hall of Famer players, coaches and front office guys. JP is a fast learner and I’m exited to see him and Wigs really blossom in the playoffs.

Anonymous

The Warriors have shown a lot of patience in bringing Poole and their other young players along at a gradual rate allowing then to grow without so much pressure and patience also in the rehab/return for Klay/Wise so i expect both those guys to be physically sound when they return..... The mental portion for Klay has been a bitch but it's almost over.

Wasn't able to watch last night's game but you always never disappoint with the insightful game recaps.

SAOpp

Dame, CJ, Simons, Powell all 6'2"-6'3". Portland needs to get bigger and get some D. Dame for Simmons and Paul Reed would help both teams.

Anonymous

There's zero chance Jordan Bell can do what Loon can do. For the record, Loon's numbers league wide are: 2nd in Defensive Rating (above Draymond who is 3rd), 2nd in Total Rebound %, 2nd in Offensive Rebound %, 15th in Block %, 15th in Win Share Per 48, We may love to hate on Looney, but his numbers defy the eye test. JB's IQ (offensive or defensive) is so far below Loon, it's near blasphemy you'd imply he could fill Loon's shoes.

i dont mind the L on clips as long we take the dub on phx

Nathan Glanzer

Thank you for this! I had heard it happened but all the clips I saw were just the moments he had the towel over his face.

Yehudah Raphaelsohn

It's so true though. Despite countless games against us and 3 playoff series they legit haven't the faintest idea of how to deal with Draymond on either side of the court. Aldridge was the only guy who could score on him. He dad dicks them every single time. If I had to wager on the team Draymond has the most Points/Assists/Blocks against, it would be Portland.

Nathan Glanzer

Peep Steph swap his pivot foot at 12:08 hehe.

Nathan Glanzer

Was awesome hearing you mention my comment on the Podcast. You've been like my basketball father ever since the 2015 season so it was a cool moment! Stuff like that keeps the community engaged. 'Preciate the fuck outta you and what you do, Alch. Thanks so much for the last 5+ years of consistency. Hope your holiday weekend was great!

If loon leaves could we snag Nance? That would seem like an upgrade to me.

Major Powers

They said that Steph, Dray and Kerr came out and talked to Klay and brought him back in. I think the dude's just overwhelmed - the sadness of missing so much time, the nerves of an impending return and wanting everything to go right...

Jerry Heverly

portland needs a teardown and rebuild. Next year the draft extends to hs players, a good time to restock.

Anonymous

Seems like the Blazers just need to make a play Ben.

athleticalchemy

And I preciate the fuck outta you! Your a legit OG around here. Your takes and eye for detail are always appreciated 🙏🏽

athleticalchemy

The adrenaline dump is going to be crazy. He might only have like 2min in him the first time he he’s out there.

Philip Heston

D Lee giving birth had me dead 😂😂💀💀

about that unwritten rule in the end... appearantly Blazers were playing annoying pesky D when Dray was simply trying to run down the clock.. so he passed it to Wiggins and told him to shoot it https://www.sfgate.com/warriors/amp/blazers-break-unwritten-rule-so-warriors-do-too-16655461.php

Russ

I was lucky enough to sit 15 feet from Klay under the basket last night. We noticed Klay had a far away look in his eyes all night. He looked just really distant. We were watching him all night and he wasn't even clapping good plays. I think he was really going through something, of course I can only speculate but it just looks like he may just be grasping that he is that close.. Damn I can't wait the 3 weeks until he comes back, and because we are winning I do think they will make him wait extra time to come back. That might be what's bugging him, who knows, but it was something last night..

Russ

Oh and another thing I promised myself I would write here. I've been hard on Draymond over the years for his passing risks and temper and lack of developing his offensive game. After what I watched last night from 6 feet under the basket, F that son of a bitch can flat out play ball. He fought with Nurkic who is twice his size like a gladiator, you sit that close underneath and the paint is mean people, u can hear Dray and Nurkic hit bodies like a Sumo match. And Dray won't give an inch, even Nurkic couldn't fucking move him. He just fights for everything, I apologize here to him, I'm sorry, I really am, nobody but maybe Steph works that hard, it's like he knows his life could end tomorrow and last nights game might be his last night on earth. The TV cameras shooting from the center top angle can't capture the impact in the paint, it's something to witness. Fucking men in there, and Draymond is the man among those men.

AK

Steph bricked that 3 so hard because even he was shook with that point Loon sequence

Anonymous

I think we are far enough into the season to be able to say that Dray has pretty consistently played to a higher level this season. He's generally much more aggressive offensively and is bringing his A game on defence far more frequently than the last couple of seasons. Whatever motivation the dude seems to have it's working.

Anonymous

Straight up, ill probably tear up a little. I can't even imagine the swarm of emotions Klay himself is and will be dealing with

Anonymous

He might feel like the team doesn't need him as false as we know that is. Last season I remember he mentioned on several occasions that the hardest part of being injured was watching the team struggle and wanting to be on the court helping them. Whenever he talked about this, he was fired up and it seemed like it drove him to push through his rehab. But now? The team is kicking ass without him and he certainly must be thinking that he would HURT the team by coming back. That has got to hurt even if it's not true.

Anonymous

Trade nurk for Christian wood. Then trade roco + CJ for jalen brown and Marcus smart. U might have to throw some picks to Boston but I’d do it

Ryan Mitchell

Thanks Alch - fire as usual. Something seems off in Portland. Feels like they’re just making passes to make them and have no rythym. They might be too old - like they are stuck in their old way of playing with the previous coach (forgot his name). Let’s see what happens. . .

paul reboca sr

DANG UNC, our boys did it again, i get it, Paul George and the boys, THE CLIPPERS.. who are they, not who they were. we are here now sir. now i might lean towards a lost tomorrow against the suns, but then again NAH, we are the beatles of the league again, i got to believe. be blessed and safe. Paulalbert

Freddie D

I needs to see that clippers game break down! Come on Alch!

I shrug at the record. I shrug at the point differential. Those will level out over time. However, the eye test is LEGIT. They are simply playing a different game of basketball on both ends of the court. Draymond is leading the Dutch National Symphony playing the theme song from The Good, The Bad & The Ugly ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u74tG3vQM1M ). The "Hocus-Pocus, you can't keep Focus for 24 seconds" offensive system built around Curry is wearing out defenders who simply do not train to play against that system. At this point, the only players who can handle this type of offense is a Warriors practice split-squad. Adding Klay will stretch the court even more and Wiseman will leave defenders the choice of getting on a poster with him or Wiggins. Screw the record and the stats, it's right in front of our eyes.

Anonymous

Yes, it should be great. But Alch is working on it...just done listening to. Hezi

Anonymous

Stop with the “takin’ an L!!” You never right!😂😂

Anonymous

Hey alch it’s been a long time. First comment this season. Don’t know if you remember but I’m a big blazers guy. Unfortunately Steph has really distanced the gap on dame with just how good he is even tho he’s aging like dame. Warriors are full of young legs and length will the Blazers have been a copy and paste for 6 years. I don’t see a real trade to make this team better. It might honestly be best to trade dame or CJ and get some picks. We have little and Simmons bud no other real young talent. Hope all is well man
