if bjelica was going to take the second unit draymond role what would happen to jta?

Hell yeah! Great breakdown and intro....we got our Kevin Love stretch big(a couple years late, but we didn't have to trade Klay)

Anonymous

Fuck yah! Great eval on baby Joker lol. I wonder if Wiseman has the mentality to be elite? My sense with Wiseman is he has a lot of drive offensively. I'm not so sure on how truly competitive he really is. My hope is Kuminga with his go get it attitude will light a fire under JWise to be more assertive and get after it. Love these doc styles where we get to really learn about players in more depth. Bjelica def has a unique and interesting journey. And yah, he could be the perfect mix of poise, maturity, shooting, playmaking, and defensive workability in a new death lineup or to reignite his MVP mode in the 2nd unit!

"crazy length and bounce" lmao mulder is soooo trash

athleticalchemy

That’s what I was hinting at.. JTA makes shit happen tho. He is the type of role player who doesn’t need defined min to be effective

athleticalchemy

My biggest concern with JW is defensive instincts.. but at the same time at this stage it’s hard to tell how much of it is just being raw. If he just learns positioning he will be super effective on that end

Anonymous

Damn hella forgot bjelica got a Guillotine in his game. Def will need that in the playoffs

Ezra Abbey

I swear every time I see this dude he's lighting some team up

athleticalchemy

It’s almost like the opposite of what we see so much. If he had gotten a nice contract from somebody, I feel like he would have been given more opportunity .. he would be looked at more like Bogs or Bertanz

Anonymous

Dray is now expendable.

athleticalchemy

😈 nah I will say.. some guys there is a reason they can only give 15-20 min.. that’s what their body allows. Not sure that’s the case with Bjelica but..

I'd be really curious to see a lineup with Steph, Poole, Klay, OPJ, and Belly when if it's for short stints. We'd still be able to replicate some of the passing of Draymond through Nemenja and the spacing and shot creation would be insane

John Z

man I can't wait

Totally expected you to say, "Like a magic wand, Belly can always get it off." As always, great breakdown. Just hope JTA doesn't get frozen out, I love that dude so much.

Jerry Heverly

What is it when you 'spam a pick and roll'?

Anonymous

"Spam" is, as far as I know it, a term usually used in gaming to do something repeatedly

Russ

When Belly shoots he reminds me a little of a slower bigger Luka, his arc is the same, same no fear I'm launching it mindset. I see him as taking a lot of Wisemans minutes, Milojevic's hire, which was a genius move by Joe, will help Paddles Wiseman a lot. Also playing James in short second string stints for a while might well be better for him anyway. Kuminga will take his minutes as well, so short stints will be all James gets until someone gets hurt. Then a year or 3 from now Wiseman might be someone who can play meaningful min. or be trade bait. Belly will mesh with the Warriors right from month 1 imo.

34...... wish he was 2 years younger

Let's gooooo! Didn't know I wanted this breakdown until I saw this lol, the amount of times this dude has killed us....... happy to have him here now

Anonymous

Man I hope JW doesn’t get frozen out, it’s probably unavoidable if golden state is really competitive this year, but I think only minor improvements can absolutely transform JW. If anything, I want him to be able to stay on the floor defensively. If he can do that and knock it down time to time(I know I’m expecting to much) this guy can be put in many more potential lineups and Kerr won’t freeze him out. Great video, thanks for the content.

I think the Warriors should go with Gary Payton 2 as a defensive weapon to cool down the elite guards. I don't think they need a 3rd string, conventional guard. Andre, JTA, Nemenja, GP2, and eventually Kuminga can run the offense for short stints. I think Nemenja and Jonathan Kuminga should be joined at the hip this season. Nemenja will help spread the floor for Kuminja on offense and Kuminga's athleticism will help cover up Nemenja's short comings. I can't wait, great take Alch

Killing me with the JTA late emergence on the second team graphic. That shit was hilarious. Good stuff. If you pair him with Iguodala on the second team that’s two playmakers so yeah, I’m feeling you on the lack of a need for a traditional backup pg. Though I get the feeling they want one. I know you’re a bit cool on him & his lack of conviction about returning but I have a feeling a Collison signing is in the cards.

Anonymous

I wasn't down on him initially I was just unsure what we might be getting but you now have me officially hyped for him Alch. Great breakdown as always.

What you guys think its going to be the warriors rotation, starters and bench (5 players for each) ? Right now we all a lot of assets and not many mins... (You can include Klay)

athleticalchemy

I think Kerr will give the vets first crack.. so Loon, IG Bjelica and Poter.. with the starting line up being Steph, IG, Wig Dray Loon.. Hopefuly Jp and JW do enough in camp to push there way in

Anonymous

Yeah, it seems like the rooks and younger players are going have to force themselves to get mins, had it should be. The thing is, in our championship runs, more precisely, the last two. We didn't develop anyone other than loon (that now is a key contributer). Probably the next one is going to be JP, but other than that I don't see a lot of room for projects like Kuminga and Wiseman. We'll how it's going to be. Either way it's a great time to be a warriors fan.

Is it possible that Wiseman being sent to Santa Cruz to develop further if his progress is not in sync with contributing to winning right away? Since man it is really hard to not get excited about Bjelica!

John Pettus

I LOVE LOVE LOVE our depth. I think it's going to be key to winning. It has been in the past. I'd also really like to see the Dubs make use of Santa Cruz to send their top prospects down early to get more playing minutes. F your ego. Our goal as an org is to win games AND make our players improve as much and as demonstrably as possible. Don't let 48 minutes in the Big Show game be your constraint. Rotate some of the younger guys - especially the ones who didn't play in college - down to Santa Cruz where they will get lots of time playing professional basketball. Whenever we've got 20+ point leads in the middle 50% of the season games, put the young guys in to get them extra minutes. "Spend" those leads - understanding that the young guys are sometimes gonna give up the lead. It's worth it to get them experience in non-garbage time. And, so what, then you're even and you put in a well-rested Steph Curry, Draymond Green, Klay Thompson, Andrew Wiggins and... whoever? Totally good with that. Even if it causes us to drop a couple extra in the middle 40 games.

Anonymous

Point forward for the second unit, I can see it. I think it should fit, Wiseman can be our starting center, Draymond loves having that lob threat anyway

Anonymous

The spacing could be great to watch. If Klay and OPJ can be healthy and still effective on defense it wouldn't be THAT one sided of a group either

Anonymous

3:12 that looks like NBA2K footage! :D

Anonymous

there are also games i can see him even START at 5 due to matchups
