I went to high school with James, he was our SF and I was our staring left fielder, and we used to work out together all the time. Happy to see all the work he’s put in finally paying off.

Thanks for this man! Honestly great to be brought back down to earth on some of these guys

I like the comp you drew and the points about his footwork. That is rarely discussed in the mainstream scouting reports. I think the warriors would pass on him because dont we already have this type of player in JP. If he was available at 14 would we take him then? If the warriors could concoct their perfect player to add to this lineup what would those traits be? 3 & D SG/SF with a handle and playmaking? Looking forward to your Jonathan Kuminga, Jalen Green, & Keon Johnsons videos

Nice break down didn’t really pay attention to his footwork before, makes a lot more sense…who’s next, moody @ 7 warriors get their Mikal bridges ?

Anonymous

great work. "needs the ball in his hand" = fegetaboutit.

Yehudah Raphaelsohn

We already have a guy in Paschall who can get to the rim, but can't shoot and can't play defense.

Man this kid has SUCH upside its so enchanting to see him pop off. Most of me feels like the dude is gonna be a star in the team that drafts him. Issue is, he is just not a good fit for our team, the footwork is a big issue like you said, and we already got Jordan Poole who fills a similar role basically. Pick him up if he drops to the 14 spot tho.

Great vid. I'd say at #7 Bouk is the BPA. Problem is he doesn't fit our team. This is a really tricky draft from picks 7-20. Looking forward to knowing who your top picks are for the Warriors as you release more draft content.

Moody at 7 and Trey Murphy or Jalen Johnson at 14

Please do Alperen Sengun. He is a brawler with a motor who fills a lot of holes, both short and long term. He does all the big things that a team needs to win. Scoring, shot blocking, steals, rebounding, especially gifted offensive rebounder and a fantastic passer. He will be a minutes eater during the regular season and will help in most playoff matchups next year. Alch, Imagine him in a couple of years in his grown mans body, he will be a holy terror. He already has the Harden head bob which will get him a couple of trips to the line. No on Bouknight at 7 for sure.

Same here. Not pleased with his footwork. That’s fundamental. Tbh I want Davion Mitchell and Moody if possible.

The problem that I see with the Warriors is that if we lose either Jordan Poole or Steph due to an injury.. Who else are we going to depend on creating shots for themselves or others? Klay? Jessup?

Anonymous

My take is that a lot of his most prominent physical advantages from college won't translate as well into the NBA, mainly his rebounding and finishing through contact. Other than iso scoring, I don't know if I can say anything else about him makes him a good #7 pick. Honestly, the positives about his pace of play all remind me a lot of Jordan Poole this past year, and the Warriors got him at #28. Assuming it takes Bouknight a full season to really get his legs, a la Poole, I'd rather the Warriors gamble on someone with perhaps a lower floor but a higher potential ceiling.

If we’re looking for some outstanding defense for our 14th pick.. I think we should seriously look into Garuba; Everyone thinks that Scottie Barnes is the best defender in the draft but I definitely think that Garuba is.. He guards all 5 positions and knows how to gap properly.. Help defense is great as well just not a real shooter but he has improved on it when he has time.. So who do you think we should take so far at 7? Davion? He’s not that switchable on defense though.. I think Bouknight can be a decent defender with some more reps.. He actually wasn’t that bad this year

Anonymous

Why he giving me russel westrook vibes, reminds me of him alot

Branden Edwards

Can't shoot, can't defend and doesn't playmake? He's not a warrior

athleticalchemy

In theory FVV or Lowery shouldn’t be switchable either.. but they are because of their strength and want. I think we will same from Mitchell. Yeah right now I like him at 7 but again who’s there still on the board!?

athleticalchemy

Wigs got to do more.. but you lose Steph and what does it matter? You can say that basically about any team

I love your draft breakdowns Alch. Stay cool out in sun (v)alley

This is why I’m a sub. The time and expertise you put in means takes that no one else is getting to. I’ve seen a few scouting reports on JB but no one’s talking about things like how the messed up footwork explains how he can shoot in an open gym but not on the move. Hard pass. I know I’m just gonna be disappointed but I’m still hoping ORL or OKC makes a dumb move and we end up with Barnes.

Anonymous

damn that footwork made me cringe really hard, it’s difficult to imagine even getting a shot off in the nba with something that ugly and inefficient

John Z

Was honestly surprised at how fast he jumped on so many draft takes for us. Like you said, we got JP, same situation for Davion too, he's more of a combo guard as well. Moses is my guy, so looking forward to your deeper take on him. Appreciate the work as always!

Anonymous

put on the Maryland/UConn tourney game.....they sagged off him and dared him to shoot. brick city. hard to be a shooting guard if you cant shoot

Anonymous

This sounds crazy, but i'm more excited about Trey Murphy at 14, than the 7 pick. I hope Alch can breakdown. He has a couple interesting characteristics. I've never seen a guy block so many shots flat footed. His feet look slow, but his hands are quick...it helps he is 6'9" with 7+ wingspan and plays wing 3. He constantly snuffs the ball on D without jumping. The over thing is he is completely comfortable with deep 3's. FT's over 90% and deep 3's at 40+%....where have you seen that before?

Anonymous

Just looked at some Tre Mann highlights and saw his interview after his workout with the Warriors. This man said that he watched a lot of Steph Curry coming up and it really shows in his game. He has a lot of his moves. The step back, nice handles, finesse at the rim, and great shot maker knowing how to create space. I think the Warriors might draft him at 14 tbh. Imagine a 6’5” Curry coming off the bench making plays for our team. He had great numbers too, shooting over 40% from 3. Soooo many options with our picks; it’s insane!

athleticalchemy

Is he Terrence brother? I heard he severely under measured.. might be smaller than Steph.. but I got a take a peep

Kahlil Baker

I’m not understanding why there seems to be so many youngins that can’t shoot. I mean Curry has been in the league 13 years which means most of these kids had 10+ years to watch the NBA and know that by the time they get drafted they should have at the very least a decent 3 point shot.

Take a look at Josh Giddey!!

Anonymous

I've been bouncing back and forth between the Bouknight and Moody camp and now am firmly in the Moody camp. When do we get to seen your take on him? Praise Threezus, Moses and the Wiseman. Klaymen.

Might be sleepn on bouknight we’ll see.

2021-08-01 10:17:18 I re-watched this video after the Kuminga to get a fresh take on the both of them. I am stuck in who the warriors take at 7 if both bouknight and kuminga are on the board. I believe it boils down to are we drafting for defensive or offensive upside. For me personally, after watching the finals and giannis's journey i think Kuminga has the ability to do the same assuming he wants to be great and not just get the bag and chill. Bouknight to me feels like another Poole and we dont need that. A future warriors line up of Mannion, Poole, Wiggins, Kuminga, Wiseman would be super fun to watch. As for next season specifically can we play Kuminga & Wiseman together? Would a a Kuminga pick and roll with steph and Wiseman in the dunkers spot be stoppable? We would definitely have the size to guard a Giannis, AD, Bam. I think I would take Kuminga as Alch pointed out that he will hold his value better. Cant teach size and length.
