They need to throw out the conferences. GS was 14-12 and 8th the West. Brooklyn is 15-11 and 3rd in the East 🤦🏾‍♂️

athleticalchemy

The east teams would never vote for it... but I don’t think anyone is judging BKN by their record right now.

Anonymous

This wasn’t competitive by any means but I still found it a fun game to watch. Good to see that Slim is still cool with all the guys...and Brooklyn will be fun to keep an eye on this year. Happy Valentine’s to you & yours Alch! ✊🏻

Anonymous

Bruh bring back Ky Bowman for the love of god get trash ass bridge troll out. It's insane how traash he is lolol

Anonymous

Hey alc, would u give a shot to IT4? Maybe a 10 day. I just think anyone is better than Wanamaker at this point

Anonymous

Great vid Alch! Nets look incredible offensively but between Harris, Kyrie, and DeAndre that defense is just terrible. I think their best hope is to try and flip Harris for a big and/or a wing stopper of done variety. I actually think Oubre might be a good addition. He can play 3/4 next to Durant and give them another wing stopper

Anonymous

5:52 - "But you see him protect himself at the last second...and I don't blame him. I mean Harden is built like a mother of 4, you don't wanna take that full force." XD I keep liking JTA more and more (Edit: He BEAT KD for the opening tip-off O_o ). Wiggins seems to be super timid on offense, it looks like he just gives up his space. After seeing Draymond come back, I just didn't care about the game at all. Hell, after the 1st it seemed like a foregone conclusion.

Anonymous

KOJ is improving, if we able to keep him and with Klay coming back health next year. I think we will be a very good team!

Anonymous

Did you see klay the entire game wanting to play lmao. I thought he was about to suite up

Anonymous

I agree with the overall take, no reason to overreact to this thing. It wasn't competitive, this version of the Warriors shouldn't measure themselves against this Nets team. Lots of fun I think because the two teams have different aspirations that don't intersect this season. The most telling thing from the night, I think, was that there was one player who showed a lot of frustration. And he wasn't even on the floor: Klay. He knows that he's essentially the key to changing the dynamic and becoming the team that can go against this Nets team in earnest. I think that next year, the games against the Nets will look and feel a lot different than they did this year. When the Warriors roster is revamped, and the splash brothers are back, then I think we can get a real KD-Steph showdown. In the meantime, there are silver linings: Juan T & Oubre I think could be a major part of a contending bench unit next year if they continue to come along. Also, Wanamaker brings zero positives to this team. Dude needs to go as soon as possible. #FreePoole

athleticalchemy

I think its going to be tough to find a trade partner, a lot of teams are not going to want to enable them in that way. "hey lets complete their roster by making this trade"

athleticalchemy

Id like to see them force feed Wigs too get him going with the second unit..I know for a fact he would be getting better looks with Nico or JP in place of Brad

Anonymous

In my head, I'm playing a supercut lowlight reel of Wanaburger with Benny Hill music in the background.

athleticalchemy

Well said.. even if Klay is closer to Joe Harris than his original form that's still a very nice piece to the puzzle

Ezra Abbey

Harden was super impressive, dude's vision and passing is straight up elite, kinda crazy how he's almost underrated as a passer. He was making some insane reads last night and it just comes so naturally to him. What's really scary is that if he saves up energy and chills he can turn it up in the playoffs and give straight iso buckets like he did selectively a few times in this game.

Anonymous

I'd like to see that too, only have the best teams make it to the playoffs.

Jansen E

Ahh yes. This game. This was one of those I wouldve been okay with you just completely skipping and acting as if it never happened lol. I mean what did I say? I expected at least 20-25 pt blowout and Id be genuinely surprised if they only lost by less than 15. No surprises here. We're just no match, even if we did have Klay and Wiseman in there. Brooklyn wouldve destroyed our bench unit just as they did. 1 per game: Wanamaker seriously looks as bad as the g-leaguers I watched on Friday. Speaking of which........ Did anyone catch that G-league game on Friday? Against the Delaware Blue Coats. If that wasnt the worst display of basketball Ive ever seen......I might as well be watching more Warriors-Knicks games. Jordan Poole looked lowkey awful and checked out. Like he didnt want to be there at all. Lin looked......really bad. And Mannion, had some flashes, but everything looked like a total failure. BUT THEN. The Saturday g-league game. They looked like actual basketball players. Mannion and Poole both looked pretty damn good. And JEREMY LIN. Looked like he should be signing a 10-day contract any day now. Whats your explanation/take on the difference in performances there, Alch? Honestly its weird. I dont know what to think or feel. They looked literally like they didnt know the first thing about the sport on Friday. But then they show out the next night. I guess that bad performance fueled the turnaround? Either way, we need Mannion/Poole/Lin or SOMEONE other than this bum ass bearded troll in Brad Wannafuckmeover.

Anonymous

So when we waiving Wanamaker and picking up Jeremy Lin??

Anonymous

I was feeling Klay's energy. We were way too content with getting the brakes beat off us. I didn't like what I saw. Oubre was ready to play and I'm sure he could tell everybody's engine was not revving on full cylinders. That was disappointing.

Anonymous

I actually don’t blame Steph for kinda packing it in by the 3rd quarter tbh. Because of the Nets firepower, Draymond not even able to post up Kyrie, and our defense giving up easy looks at the rim and corner 3, I think Steph realized there’s no point in trying to provide a Herculean performance just to barely have a chance. Speaking of the defense, idk if it’s just me but Wiggins has seemed susceptible to a lot of failed switches. If he’s being screened, he doesn’t get on the screener’s strong side, and then Wiggins ends up giving a slip to the rim. He also doesn’t seem to anticipate the slips well either. Overall I didn’t see them winning this game anyway. If there is a time for them to finally go on some win streak, this upcoming schedule should be it.

Anonymous

I was wrong about oubre...he’s learning...but i think we saw the limitation of paschall in big games...he’s giving up a lot....Curry defense was abysmal yesterday...he wasn’t locked in as the others starters...incredible shotmaking ability by the nets...i was in awe...What do you think of the offball curry action in this game?? Because when i saw this against the nets it looked easy to pick up and not as deadly...like when the league started to pick up the spurs way around 16 and we were the new wave....

Anonymous

To me it felt like warriors didn’t believe they could win from the get-go Wanamaker needs to get the f#*k outta here

Anonymous

Alc what u think about the moves we made last year ? I know we went under the tax but trading burks Glenn spellman cost the second unit development and chance to have a solid second unit ?

Anonymous

Do you think Oubre would be willing to come off the bench if klay's back and healthy next year? I wonder if his recent lack of celebrations is a result of him feeling like an outcast here or just being brought back down to earth playing with champs like Steph and Dray

Anonymous

I feel like I remember Draymond having the same sort of injury a couple of seasons ago when we had Boogie on our team.

Russ

I just like JTA as the blind find so far this year. He is good on D, high effort all game, and he can finish at the rim well with both hands. Easy guy to like, as is KO these days. Nets as advertised, those 3 Stars with 2 pure shooters in Harris and Shamet(looks more like a ShaMUTT) will be unstoppable but agree it's all up to Kyrie ISO D in the playoffs. Loved the "Mother of Four", that was good. Oh and I hope DLee breaks his slump soon, thought he might 2 games ago but not yet, early on he was money. And KD on Steph was fun to watch, Effing KD can do anything he wants on either side of the ball.

Anonymous

Yeah, I was definitely getting all star game vibes from this game as far as the competitiveness.

Anonymous

Man it felt like EP couldnt miss! Thought you'd mention his game more even though it was some garbage time

Mten10th

You've talked about Draymond's knee locking up before. I don't remember the exact game, but he was on the floor for a minute and was able to get right back into the game.

Anonymous

Harden's certainly a lot more likable without his shenanigans. With this team he probably doesn't have to try those as often, so that's good. I'm so sick of Wanamaker's inability to make anything positive happen. I don't know why our front office keeps him on the roster, nor why Kerr keeps playing him. Give the opportunity to Poole. It's not like we play Wanamaker to win anyway. Poole has way more upside. Overall, not upset about the loss, but somewhat upset about them rolling over. If our offense couldn't take advantage of Brooklyn's defense, it won't do much good against anyone. For all the talk Kerr gives about his motion offense, it's really just Steph and whatever that's left.

Mten10th

Why risk possible injuries in a game we were never going to win?

Anonymous

I can understand Burks and Robinson. We kinda did them a favor anyway. I do wish we could keep Spellman, though

athleticalchemy

You are right.. it’s been a while.. thankfully! Usually people with trick knees it more of a regular occurrence

athleticalchemy

When you take the big off it gets a lot tougher..but yeah I thought they should have put Harden and Ky in heavy PnR instead but it never was close enough too see that late

athleticalchemy

I’ll take a closer look at Wiggs in that area.. I almost thru in that botched deep post catch by Dray, but I thought ehh I been killing him lately. But that was more so my point with JTA, he appears very comfortable putting little guards in the basket on switches.. I’m guessing he made a living on it in HS

Anonymous

what do you think about playing oubre at the 5? i feel like he would be a decent rim protector and rebounder if he tried, and he's had double digit brds in the last 3 or 4 games. we could slot up DLee at the 2 to take oubre's spot for some better shooting too I think.

athleticalchemy

So long as the opposing big is not a post player.. it could lead to some nice transition and pace

Anonymous

So this is what it felt like for the rest of the NBA for those 3 years lol without klay we just don't have the firepower necessary to hang with a team as loaded as the nets. I'm actually just enjoying watching them grow and improve this year, we are better than we were 20 games ago and we will be even better 20 games from now

Anonymous

I might be wrong but from what I've seen this ain't the same nets defense that was giving up 140 points a game early on in the harden experiment, they aren't world beaters yet but it doesn't seem to be the same inept defense that they looked like early

Anonymous

what's your take on EP's defense alch? I don't think you've spoken much about it. I think the dude is a bit dumb

Kahlil Baker

I’m trying to understand why we still runnin with Wanamaker when we got Jeremy Lin in the G league. I’m not understanding why no one wants him.

Anonymous

B/c Kerr likes him...or as he put, he “trusts” Wanamaker...idk what he’s trusting him to do LOL, but those are Kerr’s words...

Anonymous

On god let's just act like bridge troll not even there!

Shea Johnson

It is time for Wannamaker to go back under the bridge in massachusetts from whence he came

Anonymous

Seems like KD and Kerr get along quite well eh😂. Kevin hit em with the ol “I don’t know who you are but you’re next in line” shake. Both wanted no parts.

Anonymous

literally watched most of the game on mute cause I can't stand listening to the ESPN cast.

Anonymous

Once again reminded that the Dubs are a 500 team, if that. No point getting excited with wins against Orlando or even Spurs. In the playoff world, they are one and done, if that. Even with Klay back, they are 2 and done, if that. They need another big star, or for Wiseman to get there, which won't be this year or even next. Take the long view and enjoy Steph balling out. Most of all, get rid of the dead weight. Our roster is a joke. I blame Myers. Or maybe Kerr. Stop accepting mediocrity, thinking our precious "culture" will turn lemons into gems.

Anonymous

i got so stoked seeing the steph, wiggins, oubre, pascal, dray line up. i think that has a lot of potential if kerr lets them play more to develop a connection.

Anonymous

Dubs FO doesnt like making moves during the trade deadline right?

Anonymous

Steph 2-9 from 3. Of all the games to go cold, he had to choose this game lol. If he hit 6 of em, they would lose by a couple of possessios only.

Anonymous

Also, they made Bruce Brown, Jeff Green, and Tyler Johnson look like superstars with that ATROCIUS DEFENSE.

Anonymous

Who the hell is Bruce Brown?! EXACTLY. 20 pts from him ALONE. The Nets trio were gonna get their points anyways, so lock up guys like Bruce Brown!

Anonymous

Alc great analysis as always. I think I remember Draymond's knee locking up on him in the 17 playoffs and I think one game in that regular season. Not gonna lie tho when I saw him go down the first thing I thought was his ACL based on the injury and where he was grabbing

Anonymous

"Brad Wannafuckmeover" lol nice. S.C.W vs Denver Blue Coats: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aohn-2wRN-A S.C.W vs Westchester Knicks: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hwva7Q35dfk

Jerry Heverly

What percentage of the Warrior shots were three-pointers (before garbage time)? 70%? The cutting and driving to the basket that yielded layups in recent games were forgotten. That's why they lost. Even if Steph had been hotter it still wouldn't have worked. The Nets were the exact kind of team that should be attacked instead of settling for long jumpers..........If Jeremy Lin isn't better than Wannamaker I'm a monkey's uncle.

Anonymous

Wanamaker gotta go. Even the Warriors PR machine can't defend this bum.

Anonymous

I know the Dubs are a .500 team, but it's interesting that the Spurs are 16-11 with way less talent. Is Pop really that superior to Kerr?

Anonymous

Imo, I feel that Harden is still the same player, and might have declined a bit tbh (looks slower and less spry). Or maybe he's just purposely playing in 1st or 2nd gear. Also, I think the Nets bad defense is in this order: 1. Kyrie - He is just so bad on defense, almost every breakdown starts with him 2. Harden - Quite decent on ball when moving his feet, very good in post. Very vulnerable when faced with speed with no effort. Horrible off ball D and could've prevented cuts if he helped early. 3. DeAndre Jordan - Just washed like u said. They should get Drummond even though he's a doo doo head. 4. Kevin Durant - Brooklyn's best defender rn. Very good when locked in. But his help defense and motor is extremely suspect. To be fair, he had an achilles and he's over 30 but he needs to renew his DPOY drive by watching Bill Russell or Hakeem or KG and be reinspired. He could've helped much earlier and ferociously when dribble penetration occurs. 5. A lack of Jarrett Allen - Allen is now gone. There is a 20 point swing according to Real+- when Allen replaces Jordan which is supported by stats and visual input. He was by far Brooklyn's best defender and rim protector. Has a little trouble guarding powerful post players, but almost none of them power good offenses save for Embiid (could be even better with good passing) and Jokic.

Not warriors related but are there any plans to cover any of the Jazz games against the other top teams in the west this week? Maybe a way to cover their play this season and if it's legit and genuine sign of progression for them?

Anonymous

Somehow it's funny but I can't hate Nets. I guess they resemble the pretty basketball that we played. Or, I just love to see KD being happy and playing at the high level without all media non-sense. I guess I became a fan of KD when he was with Warriors. The love continues as he respects and love the time at the bay. I do agree, Harden is very fun to watch now. He's a much better player than he was in Houston. Joe Harris is really nice.

Christian Hollaway

Fuck the Nets. I hope they get slapped out of the playoffs. That's how I feel. I always find it interesting when we talk about Steph's game, like, If he hits the three it's a good game. It's worth noting, overall he shot 10-17 from the field., 100% from 2. This is a terrible match-up with no centers. We have very little chance to beat this team playing small. The longer we go without centers, the more concern i have for wear and tear to creep up on our forwards.

Anonymous

where do I sign up for this Juwannamann petition? How is he even in the NBA?

Anonymous

I don't hate the Nets the way I did Houston during the Harden years. Amazingly I'm actually enjoying the way Harden is playing now. He's been one of the leagues best passers for years and it's only now in this system where he is obviously being asked to really facilitate that we are seeing it on full display. He could easily fight Jokic for leading the league in assists. I have zero time for Kyrie has too many shades of ball hogging Kobe at his worst. Obviously there is other worldly talent on display pretty regularly. Best handles in the league to me even better than Steph (though it's close). KD will always have my respect I think all around he's a better player than Lebron even if he hasn't had the career accomplishments. I respect all the fundamental skill as opposed to Lebron's antics and bullyball drives to the rim. On the whole though I just can't root for the team. I think the trade to Harden was a bridge too far. It may work in the end possibly but trading away all the depth and sort of role players that can win you rings just seems like a short sighted move to me. All that being said I'm finding it hard to really get behind any team in the east. I wouldn't mind seeing Miami surprise people but that seems like a total pipe dream this season. For me I think it's the Jazz this year that I can really get behind.

Anonymous

I don't want to bust your bubble Alch but since John Roberts became chief Justice of the Supreme Court, class action lawsuits are in practicality DEAD. That man doesn't believe any group of people should be able to join in common cause to sue any powerful entity. In the first 10 years of the Roberts Court they ruled against class action 92 percent of the time .

Anonymous

Another interesting thing Alch, you know its very ironic for KD to hate on the analytic "blog boys". A lot of these very people are fans of KD and use the analytics to appreciate and showcase how good he is!

Anonymous

i lost my shit when green went down non contact. glad he appears to be OK. thought this game was lost at half with all those missed open 3s on our side and made open 3s on nets side.

Anonymous

Hey Alch I’ve been enjoying The Hezi

Anonymous

Dude, no gm can just snap their fingers and magically put a champion out there even after the dynasty falls. With having a dynasty comes its inevitable fall and because of said dynasty a team won't have the level of assets and trade bait another team might have. Myers was brilliant to end up with Wiggins, Oubre and Minnesotas first despite losing Durant for nothing
