Agreed, just like there wasn't much to cover, there also isn't much to say. I'd just like to shout out Steph & Wiggins. They seem to be the only two that were actually doing something out there.

Anonymous

Please do cover bad losses too. I don't have a way to watch full games, and your reviews frequently show a lot of moments that are NOT highlights I can watch on youtube

Anonymous

Re: UFC (aka Covid Dome): I only watched it because of your pod on it, so thanks for that. Yeah, that calf kick is wicked. What's interesting is, that unlike kicks to the quad, it's really hard to tell there's damage, because it happens so quick. I'm happy for Dustin and that he got paid before he retires. I hope it was a big bag.

Anonymous

Man I like when you switch up the coverage to non-Warrior games.

Anonymous

Yah man, gotta bust up egos and tinker with rotations and get honest with ourselves. When shit don’t work, fix it right? If shit was working, then sure don’t fuck with it. I have seen Oubre be more decisive and confident the few times he has been out with the 2nd unit and honestly the way DLee can stroke it and his okay decent effort D they could def get away with it and then it will shore up the options and D intensity in the 2nd unit. Dray can be cap on D for the starts and Oubre for the 2nd unit. And yah, sucks to see JP not rise to the moment given his potential but Manion could be really fun to watch and def has the presence and IQ to grow into running the 2nd unit. I hear you about coaching for sure, they def are feeling their own blind spots right now. And, it is a tough team to coach given you have a true Superstar, the hype of always being relevant and good, a bunch of young talent that you want to develop, and some vets and journeyman that aren’t producing to their potential. It’s a lot to juggle. Like you said before, I think we will learn a lot about Kerr this year given the complexity of the inner and outer dynamic of this franchise. Can you give us some trade prospects for fun/for real??? 🙏🏻 lol

Appreciate the coverage man. On the leg kicks... it's been a pretty large part of MMA for a long time, but it has pros and cons. On offense it can open you up to take downs from high level wrestlers (not Conner), or jabs/front upkicks if they let their hands drop. On defense it can be mitigated by changing stances or quickly lifting the leg to carry some of the momentum of the kick. Fights have been ended on leg kicks alone, it's crazy.

Anonymous

The LW division is really weird right now. Sucks to see Conor go down like that but once I saw him get clipped you just know Dustin is gonna hook till he dies to finish the fight. Very curious about all he top contenders and Khabib’s next move. Feels like nothing is for sure...

Anonymous

i hate when they bring manion in as a floor spacer with brad like that shits just not gonna work

athleticalchemy

leg kicks yes, calf kicks specifically are a relatively new tactic. and you can get them off so quick its doesn't t put you at risk for take downs nearly as much as a traditional thai chopping kick

Anonymous

“Same words, zero action. Steve Kerr’s the perfect democrat. “

If you catch that 3rd quarter where Bogdanović is shooting free throws from Oubres foul. You can see Oubre going at it with coaching staff or Kerr. He’s yelling at someone at the bench. I think that put the nail in the coffin for the starting line up change. Plus, that post interview from Kerr felt different. I think Nico is what Kerr thought Wanamaker would be as far as a pass first guard. I can see them bumping Bazemore or Lee in that starting line up and putting Nico in at the 1 and Wanamaker at 2 on the bench. I think they’re going to experiment with the both lineups in these two Timberwolves games.

athleticalchemy

nice..I can only imagine it feels something like a calf cramp where it pretty much debilitates you. But you caught that too, where it seems like Dustin is eyeing the endgame

athleticalchemy

If they put up any type of fight I will cover it.. but something last night. I mean it wasn't even really a game

Man i love this format if we (hope not) get blown out, just a few takes on different games, teams, sports, idk im all in for it. . And also i have the same thlughts that you have on Poirier, he's constantly trying to reinforce his confidence saying that he work really hard and he deserves it, like when he lost to khabib the only words that came out of his mouth were that he really worked hard for the fight you know what im saying? But yes it was really difficult to root against him specially after the dog fight he had with Hooker (btw that man Chandler, oh wee). . I think what will happen in MMA with the leg kicks it's fighters will really start paying attention to the true Muay Thai skills and stands, so if you want to kick someone in the leg you will pay a great cost wether its a takedown or having your face smashed, but Conor doesnt want to take anyone to the ground so idk

athleticalchemy

missed that. I didnt think about Brad in the starting line up, he does guard up in size well but IDK id probably be cussing him out 4 min in

athleticalchemy

glad you liked it! Its the calf kicks specifically that are so hard to defend because its just a flick almost like jab. But I think your right its going to force different stances.

How many games do we continue to say "damn how do these teams keep destroying us from 3?". That's what really pisses me off about Steve Kerr. Whether or not a team is a good three point shooting team, once a team starts 3 for 3 right out the gate, you HAVE to make an adjustment. The Knicks game is a good example. Not a great three point shooting team, but they come out and suddenly cant miss. Does Kerr make a change? Nah, the percentages will do the defense for us, right? And then Jazz are NOTORIOUSLY good and we come off the tip gapping everyone???? Like what the actual fuck is this. Whatever. Im done commenting on that. The only last thing I'll say is MY MAN NICO MANNION. I'd love for someone to try to come up with any argument as to why he should not be getting the same amount of minutes as Shitty Layup Brad. The dude actually has a shot and in terms of defense, why cant he be every bit as good as Brad? Wanamaker needs to sit his trash out down and someone please yell at Steve Kerr to give Nico more minutes.

Anonymous

I'd rather wanna see more league coverage than UFC. Ugly game but I hope this pushes Kerr to try something different.

Natto Santo

Draymond is disappointing offensively. No matter how much you do in defense, when you hold the ball as much as Draymond, you gotta make shots. He cannot post up or make some 5 or 6 footers now

Anonymous

I don't understant why the coaching staff is creating so many plays that do not help the team gain pace and confidence. Why did they start with that Wiseman 3 pointer in the beggining of the game? Why not put him in a more confortable situation? Wiggins is confirming he can be a very reliable scorer for us, why aren't we looking for more plays where he can thrive? So many poorly decided plays today, I was really disapointed... Finally, the defense was just sorry to see... It is unbelieveble how bad we defended the 3 point line and that is unacceptable as you said, and it could have been worst, they missed so many open shots. I hope they put it all together and change their mentality for our next games. Coaching staff needs to change some things and stop pressing the same buttons and ideas. Thanks for the great content as always big alch greetings from Portugal

I really think that Knicks loss was bigger than a simple L. It really took away their steam and confidence, made Draymond look bad as well. Brutal loss

Anonymous

How many more 3's does Looney need to catch Reggie? How many more 3's does Nico need to catch Looney?

Anonymous

Minnesota has a good win playing without DLo (with Rubio and playing at a very fast pace) and they will come in energized.

athleticalchemy

Agreed.. we all get this roster is limited but the staff has to better about putting them in positions to succeed. Let Wiseman and Wiggins protect the rim and stop sending everyone to help.

Anonymous

It was a "scheduled" off day for him. Now was that rest day to get him ready for the two big games against the Dubs? I'll be honest, in theory the Warriors should be better in a fast paced game but then, the Knicks are a slow pace team that beat the Warriors at what should be the Warriors pace so how should the Warriors play...IDK.

Anonymous

Nico looked a lot more confident then Poole man. Idk what else bout that trash game. Alch love the ufc stuff don’t know enough about it buts super fun to learn bout. dope sport

Anonymous

Thanks for pointing out the cringe Azubuike name conversation, I was thinking the same. This team didn't get the memo since 2016 that teams are better at shooting the 3s. Our defense rating has plummeted after 2016 using the same strategy of over helping and not rotating out in time which the Bucks do so well. Even so the Jazz probably shot way better than they will do by the end of the season, I just didn't feel like the Warriors lost this as much as the Jazz won it.

athleticalchemy

The over helping has been a system problem for years. When KD and Andre were out there they covered it up. I got to see how Nico holds up defensively, but yeah let’s please find out.

athleticalchemy

Right KD and Andre were the ones covering up the flawed strategy with their length. Got to let Rudy score especially early.

Anonymous

Nico Manion had highest plus minus, Wanamaker had lowest... I know Nicos was in garbage time, but this is something, I'll take it. More Nico, less Wanamaker; just try it for a few games. Couldn't be much worse than this. I would much rather watch rookies loose and learn and grow, than to see a bunch of uninvolving veterans shit all over the place, game after game. Just sayin'

Anonymous

If Oubre is removed from the starting lineup, then his contract + the Minnesota pick need to seriously be explored. There are several interesting options available considering the value of the (last place) Minnesota 2021 first.

Anonymous

Agreed. Except occasional defense efforts, Wanamaker is really bad, and I would rather see Nicoplay , who already has better vision than the ball hog.

athleticalchemy

it’s interesting because the teams that would probably be willing to part with a star caliber player are also headed for a nice lottery pick themselves. It kinda goes hand in hand.

Anonymous

wtf was bazemore doing when he let old ingles break his ankles?

Anonymous

anyway, it was a good time for Boogie to hv a good game because he was ass the previous 4-5 games and I really wanted Houston to cut him

Anonymous

Both Curry and Wiggins should be taking 20+ shots per game. We have a superstar and a future all star in our hands yet Steve Kerr is still obsessed with his “team” ideal, sometimes you just gotta let the best players play

athleticalchemy

Was that joe jingles?! Cuz is gonna half to shoot around 40% from 3 to warrant playing him a lot.

Anonymous

Pretty sure Loon hit a big 3 against the lakers.

Russ

Poole is playing like he's auditioning for another team right now. Nico looks like he has stopped jumping as much on his 3, quicker and better, one could argue he's the only true point guard on the team. James needs to focus on regaining his arc. Our 3 pt D has always sucked but now worse.

Russ

Ernesto Hoost from Holland was a 4 time K1 champ in Japan when I lived over there in the 90's. He had a lethal calf kick that a lot of people tried and mostly failed to copy.

Anonymous

You guys see the ingerview Kerr gave? Dude was stammering, had no answer for why Curry's usage was so low with the starters.

Anonymous

Yeah, I think that was ingles, not bogdanovic who broke bazemore's ankles lmao. It's just so funny how an athlete Bazemore can get broke by old man Ingles :). https://kslsports.com/451714/jazz-f-joe-ingles-breaks-warriors-kent-bazemores-ankles-on-crossover/

Anonymous

I don't blame you bro this shit is hard to watch

Anonymous

i heard commentary on poole from fitz the other game and there was a tone of pity. he felt bad for the guy and wanted him to get more minutes, he's worked so hard, yada yada

Anonymous

Are we in agreement that both Steph and Kerr are meth addicts? There is no way that Steph sees his teammates and thinks he should give the Keys to Brad and Oubre, while Kerr forgets to play his best shooters when they're apart of their best lineups, unless both of them are on drugs. The late arrival sucks, but there are ways to control things to prevent blowouts by the 1st quarter every game.

Anonymous

love the flex idea, hopefully you can get some of my celtics in there!

Anonymous

Also if its a blowout and you flex maybe you just do a quick 2 min take on the warriors for the die hard dub fans, just an idea

Anonymous

like at the beginning/end of the flex vid. and if you posted a laker or a nets game breakdown on youtube that'd have to get you some more patrons. not tryna tell you how to do ur job but your content is too good to not have even more patrons. you are the best sports content out there, hands down, no questions asked. clickbait that shit on youtube. your real supporters will understand we all want you to be successful
