Definitely enjoyed it, especially as a newcomer to both the NBA and Hip-Hop. Haven't heard much of those names so not only was the vid entertaining and well-made it was also informative.

Great work Alch!

Excellent video but I gotta be honest, the Foxy Brown part kinda caught me off guard... really didnt come close to expecting her in it. Knowing what we pretty much know about her, I wouldn't have included her myself, and maybe instead Ghostface... his first solo album Ironman debuted in 96'. Regardless excellent work as always.

Great vid alc, would def look forward to a series of this nature being someone that enjoys history of stuff a bit ahead of my time

What an excellent video! Loved it!

athleticalchemy

you mean the ghost writing? ...Fair. I left Em off the list because he didn't really really debut until 99..So I didn't consider Ghost a new act either. In hindsight I probably should have just added them both.

The Kobe and Pac comparison gave me chills. Dope video as always Alch. Hoops and Hip Hop have always been connected but AI really changed everything, it's crazy to see the difference between back then and today. Hip Hop is literally blasted throughout the game and most players today are tatted up, wear all kinds of hair styles and rock head bands and shit. AI's legacy is huge, and underappreciated by many people.

Great job.

God damn, Alch! This was very dope. As always I appreciate you and what you do.

Nash an Curry are like the same player but like if you chose to max out different stats for each one, passing/shooting.

Very good video. Don't know this rapper but have to recognize this speech by Killer Mike from a couple days ago. https://www.cnn.com/2020/05/30/us/killer-mike-atlanta-protest-rapper-trnd/index.html

Yeah that's what I needed today. Thank you

Branden Edwards

Alc this was great. Genuinely one of your better videos not breaking down games. I hope you do one for other great draft classes

That was an excellent video! Something i was expecting but I was all for it. Seeing the Kobe and Tupac comparison almost had me choked up for a second.

Final Cut Pro is what I use and easiest to learn and work with, the trade off being its not as powerful or deep as say adobe.

This is some unique content that came out in a time where we could use some perspective on culture. Much appreciated Alc.

damn cant believe youre from the west coast and love ny rap so much lmaoo. I'm the opposite I mean pac is MJ for me. What you got Jay z as your #1?

athleticalchemy

Pac is # 1 for me..I have listened to Pac more than anyone else. Im a suka for punch lines and lyricism tho .. So I do tend to like east coast rap more. But this list made it self really, I paid homage to some of the stuff that came out the west as well tho.

Connor H

This was dope af alch. Well done. Now I gotta find me some of those lil those lil 4 inch TVs that jay z was using to flex on us with his sunvisors

athleticalchemy

Haha you remember when that was a thing? Or maybe you don’t! But you had fools sticking them in Honda’s

Just watched some Paul Reed footage. High possibility the Warriors could draft this guy. Okongwu with wing like scoring skills; stretch 4 or small 5. Please take 10 minutes of your time to just watch his highlights alone. Will be a draft steal if he doesn’t get picked top 20.

Dope dope video Alc! I'm a little late but just had to leave some observations. 1) Lil Kim is underrated AF, I was just thinking about this the other day when I was revisiting some of that old Junior Mafia stuff...ppl say Jay & Meth are the only ones to go bar for bar with BIG as though cuts like Get Money don't exist! Kim was a monster on the mic... 2) Love the Pac + Kobe comparison. I heard a story about how they actually met once in a club in LA, right after Kobe got drafted. Imagine a 17-year old Bean walking up to Pac with sheepish grin on his face! They both had a command of the moment. Tupac is not in my top ten because like you I favor lyricism, bars, punchlines etc. But I think what made Pac great as a rapper is what made him great as an actor...he connected with his audience. 3) Jesus Shuttlesworth mannn. There was a game he went off for like 49 with 10 threes including the game winner against Nash & the Suns in double OT. It would've been one of the most memorable games of the decade–except it happened on the same night as Kobe's 81. Ray would have at least a couple scoring titles in this era, shooting 8-10 threes a game. So smooth.
