Really agree with the takes on the rankings. The Steph/KD argument isn’t very close to me, Steph’s body of work is just greater than KD’s at this point. I think people are quick to forget that Steph came back from down 3-1 to beat KD. Giannis also shouldn’t have sniffed the list, he hasn’t won a single notable playoff series yet. Great podcast as usual Alch, some much needed entertainment 🙏🏻

Yeah you add the context of him doing it to him..lol Kd has quite a bit of catching up to do! thanks for giving it a listen!

For as along as I can remember Kerr has always been saying the wing position is the hardest to find players for, so that tells me Deni Avdija is the one and everybody else is misdirection, especially with the loss of both KD and Iggy, who have won the last 3 FMVPs .

Tyrell Terry looks pretty good... would really like a break down from Alch on what his ceiling in the lead could be. Shot looks really good but I don’t know about everything else.

Do you think the Dubs will go out and try to acquire another 1st round pick or early 2nd?

Some kind soul uploaded the Flu/Food poisoning game to YT! I'm watching it now. It's almost a different game back then. Crazy physical play. Great stuff

idk about a 1st, but damn I've been loving these second rounders!

Alch maybe someday you can do a Rodman analysis/breakdown! I just read that a bunch of NBA OGs got together and trashed Draymond as “too small” to have played back in their day. The Worm was only an inch taller than Dray but they seem to have a similar impact on the game, frustrating the other team, getting in their heads, the occasional nut shot, lots of techs. The OGs seem to have a lot of hate for Draymond. They just salty or are they on to something?

Watching the “last dance”, is there any way the League would like to replicate that with the current NBA, and I cannot think any team better than Warrior to do that with since Curry, Thompson and green can go with another run to chase 2 or 3 more rings. And if this could be a case, then it would be very plausible that we will get Giannis! What do you guys think?

Apparently they have a Kobe one coming as well as a crew following LeBron. The Warriors turned down cameras that last KD year. I think we are going to see a bunch more docuseries from them. But I’m not sure the Warriors will ever give that access. I could see maybe Steph and Klay having a final season together documented down the road.

MJ said Indiana was toughest team he faced after Detroit in the east* Just like LeBron, the toughest teams he faced were the Pacers (PG) and Bulls (Rose and Noah), basically the only good teams he faced in the east tbh. That's my problem with the "KD and Curry needed each other to beat LBJ" narrative, if you switch the 2016 Warriors and Cavs' conferences, the warriors go 75-7, sweep the east and win the ring in 5. Just imagine having to face Harden, Lillard, CJ and either KD and Westbrook or Kawhi, just to get to LeBron, Love and Kyrie. While on the other side you have to beat Drummond, Lowry, Derozan and IT, to face Curry, Klay and Green. That's the reason why, to me, his 8 straight finals appearances mean nothing. KD, Kawhi, and Curry would've done the same thing if they were the only superstar in the East.

Pippen is no. 21 out of sheer legacy. If the greatest no. 2 is that high there's no way Klay isn't top 50, he's the perfect sidekick and has the rings

John Z

No one seemed to remember Cleveland was sweeping their way to the finals before we were.

Dan Doerge

Alchemy - riddle me this: why the fuck would anyone listen to perk on anything? The dude was mediocre on a good day!

Whether his qualities on court are relevant or not, he's annoying either way. I much rather listen to Paul Pierce, who spills out nonsense as well, but at least he does it in a bantering way ("I pioneered the stepback").

I think Jordan is just as skilled a passer as Bron if not better. Bron just a more willing passer and maybe hunts assists more so has better numbers

The DrayMagic -- WormMenace defensive player archetype merits alchemical analysis. Either that or a bare knuckle boxing match live on ig.

This pod has me pondering the archetypes of players that can be ranked with any kind of historical relevance. We're talking no asterisks here. Wings, PointGz, Bigs. Maybe. An extension of the franchise, special weapons etc., sort of concepts here perhaps. Hakeem rated right in front of Steph is the ultimate PR agenda lip service hat tip to the old era?
