vs MIN game 10

Realistically, will the Warriors be able to sustain this amount of energy? I still feel skeptical about that. But if they do, they're winning 70 again.

On a side note, I love how Alchemy starts each video....like setting the table or the setting of a story....with the guys warming up, pre-game ritual. It shows who's loose, who's tight, who's relaxed, who's nervous, the coaches, the players....it's a real nice Alchemy touch. Often times I miss the beginning of games, so I miss this drama

Bailey

Maybe I'm wrong but I still think Kerr needs to stagger Steph's and KD's minutes throughout a game. And the Warriors should incorporate that Jokic/Tyus head jerk in their game too.

So I want to start this like this... Jimmy Butler needs to realize he is a career second tier star with role player swag... And going off his decision to skip last game and play this nationally televised one shows he's a selfish teammate... Also where'd did he disappear to during the 4th with a little over 3 mins to go down 13?? Sure 13 sounds like alot, but some stops on D and transition baskets coulda even the odds in a game that was for the most part back and fourth?? Yeah like I said he's a bitch... Tibs too, for condoning this fuckery smh...

POTY thus far. I feel like I am constantly taking shots at him so I went light in this one. You are exactly right!

athleticalchemy

With November IG I think your right. As annoying as it is agree, especially come playoff time it’s so effective.

athleticalchemy

What I was saying about Draymond kinda of applies to this. If he wants to push this DPOY thing it will push the team as well. Not sure it’s great big picture.

Alchemy you said shooters dont go 0/8 but didnt stephs streak of consecutive games with one or more threes end with the lakers last year. I belive he went 0/11; right after he broke the three point record against the pelicans. So shooters do go 0 for what ever.

athleticalchemy

Right. Not literally, there are anomalies. But go count the career O fers from shooters. They almost always knock 1 down even on a bad night.

I figured I was just being pedantic in a joking way😁

Your points about Steph, Draymond, and Iguodala were spot on. Something about Steph was off all game but thankfully it didn't take away from his defense or passing. KD had a great game, he actually took some 3s this time and made great decisions. Still concerned about Klay's shooting. Somehow he is still killing from midrange but we should at least expect him to be more consistent from 3s after that 52 pt game. Meh who knows maybe this is just bad variance. Anyone see Butler waving with the Oracle crowd? Hilarious.

The thing about McKinnie giving us so much, so consistently, so early in his time in the Dubs system is, just what in the hell is his ceiling? It's an important question going forward for player decisions both at the trade deadline and beyond, especially next year. Is this just a player looking good in the system a la Ian Clark?

Yea, Steph (for the first time all year) put on his passive aggressive face. Tyus Jones was face-guarding Steph, (basically shutting off Steph as much as possible), which is mostly annoying to Stephh. Steph just didn't have the energy to work twice as hard to get open, and Steph kinda checked out of the game.

Alonzo McKinney reminds me of Trevor Ariza: tall, length, long arms, can hit the three ball, and also dunk finish the break, at the same time get rebounds, and play some defense. In this version of the NBA, "3 and D" a key wing that blends with the other stars.

Dray doesn't pass to McKinnie

Kahlil Baker

I hate Toliver too, it’s something about him that I don’t like.

Hey Alchemy! Greek fan here, Giannis is pronounced "Yannis". Keep grinding, love the constant stream of great quality content!

Someone's gotta keep him in his place, and Dray's just the guy to do it...

I know this is mostly a Warriors channel, and this is what brought me here in the first place, but I also follow the Bucks (because of Yannis) and I was very interested to hear your take on the new Bud Bucks. I think they are a move or two away from being right there with the Celtics in the Eastern Conference. Khris Middleton is a top 5 small forward. What do you think about Eric Bledsoe? I didn't like that move in the first place and I think they can't become serious contenders with him as their starting PG. He has 1 year left on his deal for 15 million, I don't know how the rules work and if they can move him but if you were the GM, can you think of a trade that would help the Bucks take the next step?

Did yall see klay rock the baby to sleep?!?! When he went over tyus (11:50 in vid) totally jacked the westbrook beverly move.. love it..

Was thinking same thing last night.. almost as if hes passed ariza in confidence already tho.. hopefully him and looney can stay for the foreseeable future.. important pieces to the puzzle

I really like how Klay set the tone at the beginning of the fourth quarter with the two threes and bullying Tyus Jones in the paint. Had a great pass to Iggy too. Mckinnie is a great offensive rebounder especially for his size which is needed on this team. I'm happy for him too, proving you wrong Alch. And as for Steph, when I was watching him turn it over because of mishandling the ball I knew something was up in terms of rhythm, and you did a good job of pointing that out. Draymond defensively was really good, as you already mentioned. For the next game, I think Memphis is playing relatively well, as they are coming off a win against the Jazz in Utah, and they usually play the Warriors well.

No one's really talking about it, but you gotta wonder what's going on with Cook. He hasn't played a single minute in the last 2-3 games and this is with Livingston out. If Kerr isn't gonna play Cook with Livingston out in a game against MIN when you're matched up against Tyus Jones, when is he going to ever play him?

Can we take another sec to bask in Steph’s crazy play this year. He shot 46% from the field this game, mostly higher than what Kyrie, Harden, or Westbrook typically average for a season, and we say that he’s “off” or is “having an off night.” Isn’t it so crazy how the dude with the most conventionally difficult shot selection in the league is also the one who we hold to the highest statistical standard? The only guy who has similarly outlandish expectations is KD, and everyone is pretty much a chair to him once he gets the ball to his release point. Appreciate it while we have it y’all, there will only ever be one Baby Faced Assassin 🐐

I thought it was kinda strange but hey man: In Kerr we trust. Kevon went from being an afterthought coming off multiple surgeries with seemingly little upside, to locking up Har_en in the WCF and becoming our smartest young reserve. Same thing with Damian. He almost came out of nowhere this year and now he has the highest FG% in the league by about 5-7%. The only Process you need to trust is the one in the Bay Area. They’ve shown time and time again that they always have a reason.

Alch, I didn't know you already have new NBA-Alchemy episodes up on youtube. Great! Now I can binge watch :) Also: love the new pieces on the Dubs and the improvements Jones and Looney are making. Steph is phenomenal of course. He's the reason why I started watching basketball again. And thanks to the internet I won't miss a Warriors game. Here in Germany as a kid I only had a VHS mixtape with NBA highlights. It is so much more fun to actually see all the little details of movements, screening, passing, defensive tactics and so on.

Yo coach, do you believe Steph is this generation pistol Pete Maravich?

Anonymous

Maravich was a weird animal, he's really hard to judge. He grew up in North and South Carolina, where his father coached at Clemson and NC State, and then they both went to LSU as part of a package deal, a school with no basketball program to speak of, and Pete was it when he got there. This was still the segregated south, so everyone around him was white, and then he got drafted by Atlanta, which was at its core maybe the blackest team in the NBA at that time. I think he was viewed as a prima donna, and kind of the successor to Bill Bradley, who had been a huge college star at Princeton and got the big contract but was having a tough time of it in the NBA at that point. I felt like it was a mistake for him to go there, he would have been better off going into the ABA; four of the biggest stars in that college class - Dan Issel, Rick Mount, Charlie Scott, Mike Maloy - did that, and Maravich could have written his own ticket. It didn't seem like he really fit in with the Hawks, who were starting to fade then, and then he went to the expansion Jazz, which was a lot like being at LSU, and then he hurt his knees, which became a chronic problem. By the time he got to Boston there wasn't much left of him. He was a big guard, and a better ball-handler than a shooter, but was always a gunner, in part because his teams never had all that much. It's impossible to say what he might have been had he been part of a good team - it's a little like Bill Walton, had he not had that fantastic season and a half at Portland; all we'd remember is the way he didn't always fit in, the injuries. Walton did have more left when he got to the Bird Celtics than Pete did, and Pete got there before they were really a championship team. But I think he would have been amazing in the ABA with that wild style of play and the 3-point line.

I wanted to keep feed clean here with games, plus it helps me when you visit my YouTube. I’m putting out 2 or 3 episodes a week.

athleticalchemy

DJ should get to show what he’s got against a big Memphis team. Zo gets boards he shouldn’t that’s a rare trait with today’s players.

athleticalchemy

I have done some thinking about that. The problem is, Most rosters with a extra guard are eastern conference rivals. Not likely to deal with the bucks. The clippers if they fall out of contention, Beverley would be nice. The bucks would most likely have to be willing to give up a pick. I think there best bet is to develop divincenzo. You can tell he has been very well coached, and is unafraid.

Macca

McKinnie is like Ian Clark 2.0. He’s actually leading the league in 3 point percentage! (10 of 17)
