Tim Kawakami or however you spell his name points out that Dray struggles on post defense and teams in the playoffs will look to exploit that. Players I can see who does post is Nurkić and Melo. Do you agree or see that in Dray?

McCaw was incredibly bad on both ends and it's fast approaching a point where the answer isn't just play thru it...aka sophomore slump.....David West played like the all-star he once was and saved the day when the Dubs were wobbling in this game.

I'm starting to believe GSW is playing a little rope-a-dope and have been for the past couple weeks. I think they know exactly what they're doing. They're gonna start turning it on after the all star break. That's when we'll see the GSW team we know.

I thought McCaw went to G league? He got cooked on defense.

Was he? He only played like 8 min of non garbage time. I remember a couple of sequences where he put the clamps on. When Major brought it up I thought he was talking about those. Let me take a look in the full breakdown

Look at the Dennis Smith Jr. attempt at a hammer dunk that he missed in the 1st half, watch McCaw on that drive.....but it's more than that, look at the OKC game when McCaw tries to pressure Westbrook, McCaw get beat quickly, then runs along side Westbrook with his hand up, side by side, Westbrook gets called for a ridiculous offensive foul. Pat does that run along side thing regularly now. I was taught, and always taught if you're pressuring the dribble in the mid court area and the dribble get ahead of you you either, poke check from behind (works only at lower levels or with very poor ball handlers), sprint to the passing lane if a teammate steps up to stop the ball, or ideally, sprint back ahead of the ball to a cut off point.....RUN ALONG SIDE THE DRIBBLER.....Naw never and Pat has that as a habit.

Editing now, he does have that habit, he is so quick I think it’s worked for him all the way up to the NBA. But to me you are putting him in a bad spot asking him to pick up Russ full court. That’s exactly what a player like him wants! Let’s him use his attributes.

And I know it was to break his rhythm, but I prefer the hard foul method. Russ’s rhythm is fast and that just sped him up even more.

Well I am Steve and it's possible that the other Steve (with more power than me) put him in a bad spot by having him pressure in between the hash marks (?) but why he would Steve do that IDK so.....But in basketball some things never change and you never guard a guy in a way that plays to his DNA...and Russ's DNA play as fast as possible, never turn down a challenge, drive before shot...you've said it ur self here. Not to put too fine a point on it but if god told Russ son, you're gonna get hurt this is your last play what would you like Westbrook's choice wouldn't be a long epic 3, a stop on a dime 2, a hesitate and go uncontested layup, it would be beat pressure dribble all the way, hammer dunk and 1. Never let a guy play to his DNA. The Warriors collective problem overall right now is they are not playing very smart and smart play is habits and running alongside a dribbler is a bad habit.

Dray's problem is self control with complaining and technicals and because the intensity that he plays with generates those technicals as a side effect and while he can't eliminate technicals he's passed the point of diminishing returns. Also Dray and KD doing it at a rate that puts them at the top of the league, that's not smart.

After the pasting from SA last year where we played without our stars I was worried..... then the Warriors responded down the strech let's hope we see that.

athleticalchemy

so you are with me...His eyes light up every time a guy tries to pick him up in the backcourt.

Oh yea, Westbrooks entire ethos is "you can't do that to me".....BTW....i'm always with ya AA....even if it doesn't sound that way...
