Jason Kidd Fired

Jason Kidd was fired today form the Milwaukee Bucks after 3 years with the team. Who should the Bucks look to bring in to take Giannis Antetokounmpo to the next level?

I think Fizdale would probably be the best fit for the Bucks. You mentioned a while ago that Giannis very much plays off his raw instinct because he's so talented but if fizdale gets in I really think he'll be able to turn that instinct to the next level by implementing the strategic side to Giannis' offense. Either way it's an exciting time for the bucks, I honestly think they are 1 star away from being a conference finals team and Giannis is only getting better from what we've seen. Great video once again alchemy

I believe Jabari is due back soon. They could really make a second half push with the right guy at the helm. Got have a system tho!

Best J Kidd commercial ever. J Kidd in a car driving through Oaktown, driving by all the rough neighborhood outdoor bball courts. J Kidd says: "When I was young, all the neighborhood kids wouldn't let me shoot. (Then he smiles). They would only let me pass (and the commercial shows all these prolific J Kidd high schhol, college, and NBA passes)

Next year Mike Brown will be head coach somewhere in NBA. Jason Kidd would be good Assistant Head Coach with Steve Kerr and the Warriors

As a bucks fan I'm really glad this happened. It's not just that his x's and o's were suspect but when asked about their losing post game he didn't seem to be too interested in owning up to his shortcomings, and instead was quick to blame the young team's lack of energy and effort, and even went as far as saying that the expectations were too high for the team. I didn't watch a lot of memphis recently but seeing how Fizz advocated for his guys and wanted them to succeed makes me think he'd be a much better fit for this team right now. We're a few years out from an ECF regardless but that's no excuse for failing as much as we have lately.

Kidd may not be a great strategist but, at the same time, the Bucks have a roster full of low bball IQ players. It's very hard to teach a bunch of young, raw, players who don't seem to have a firm grasp of the game. I don't think a coach is out there who can get them over the top by himself. I think the bigger issue is how this will affect Giannis. He and Kidd were very tight so how's this gonna impact Giannis going forward.

Good point. But he is so young, NOW you bring in a guy who is going to grow his iq and game...no doubt Kidd has him playing hard, but he is a natural alpha, so that's not the issue.

What are your thoughts on Jabari Parker coming back to the bucks? And if they can secure Fizdale, can the bucks be a threat in the east for the top 3 seeded teams?

I think the key for Jabari is lateral quickness on defense. He is a born scorer, but with the knee and his tendency ti carry too much weight will he get abused in PnR? He needs to focus on being as lean as possible to stay healthy. Id play him off the bench so he can have the ball in his hands. Once he has his legs under him, use him at the 5 to close games. Hopefully they can get Fiz, but who ever it is he needs to have a sysytem as well as clout with players. But to answer your question yes. I think they can, and that's why they fired Kidd.

George Karl is still alive? Well I guess you could do that but then if it works out (or even if it doesn't) you could have a warriors replay scenario where you bring in Nelly as the GM and he stabs Karl in the back and takes over even if Karl does a good job and then Cwebb & Billy Owens come out of retirement to play for Nelly to try to get it right.....I'd like to say "just messin with ya" but more likely I'm tripping. We're all speaking stream of consciousness.....

Haha that legit right there! No Gorge pretty much blackballed him self with that book, wich was a fun read by the way "Furious Gorge" He just came to mind as far as his style as a coach. You need a guy that knows what he is doing , but also can bark at guys. Obviously Pop being the holy grail of this. I think Gorge was in that mold..just didn't balance as good, maybe not as likeable behind close doors.

The Bucks under Kidd reminded me of GS under Jackson. Good coach, but not good enough to get you to a championship.
