So with Jordan Bell being injured, what do you think is gonna happen to JaVale? Will he get more minutes, or is his head on the block?

I haven't..iv just kept my eye on him since we played him. The Ringer has a great piece on him, where I got my background info. I knew right away when we saw him, like oh! I like this kid!

Nah, this dude is fool's gold. A casual fan might look at the box score and highlights and think he's nice. But look at how inefficient he is. How many shots he needs to take to get those numbers. And how he does against good defenses. And gotta consider that he plays for Kenny Atkinson who's basically coaching his team to play as fast as possible and just jack up shots. On bad teams in the NBA, even mediocre players can put up seemingly great numbers if they play a lot of minutes. Gotta look at the efficiency and the advanced stats and their defensive game as well. In today's NBA, you need to have 2-way players up and down your roster if you wanna contend.

I know his numbers aren't good..but I consider myself very good at having an eye for talent. My eye test tells me, yes he is doing too much. But on a better team and with a lesser role he will get way more efficient. Now I'm not saying give him some big deal, but under the right contract he would be a great piece. Young guys with high BB iq keep getting better. He is 24 but really he has played the equivalent of maybe 1 season with real usage. Watch and see, ill be sure to bring up again 😏

You can play in the NBA on talent alone (google Billy Ray Bates) but for both Jack Ramsey's system in Portland and Steve Kerr's hybrid system in Golden State, you need enough talent and then a good deal of intellectual horsepower for sustained success, maybe this dude has that?
