Looking forward to this reaction, especially for *that* scene ;) A similar fun, spy-type movie if you haven't seen it: The Man from U.N.C.L.E. by Guy Ritchie with Henry Cavill. It's based on the TV show from the 60s and is very entertaining.

If you think about it, Arthur wasn't a bad guy the whole movie. Valentine didn't know who the Kingsmen were and it can be assumed that if Arthur was working with Valentine from the beginning he would have been told about the Kingsman. This means as soon as Arthur knew what Valentine's plan was he most likely agreed with it and met with him to give up Harry by letting him go knowing he was going to die. That was his buy in price, having to give up his duty and honor for a safe place. For 2/3s of the movie Arthur was friends with these people.
