Sun Cheng glanced down at the dozen or so wounds on the mechanical body and suddenly understood why those ancient Cybertron warriors hadn't completely dealt with the Shadow Guardians back in the day.

"Alright, let's retreat for now. Once we prepare a batch of electromagnetic weapons, we can come back and thoroughly clean them up!"

On the surrounding ground, more than twenty Shadow Guardians lay, some cut in half at the waist, others heavily injured or paralyzed by electromagnetic weapons.

Even though Sun Cheng now possessed almost Leader-level strength, facing these relentless and ruthless combat machines, he still sustained injuries.

Truly deserving to be called slaughter machines created by a Cybertron elder!

During the battle with the Shadow Guardians, Sun Cheng noticed that they never approached the lake's edge. Combining this with the fact that these Shadow Guardians hadn't appeared in other regions of Mars despite the laboratory's existence for many years, they likely received orders not to leave the patrol area when created.

Their patrol area should be near the underground ice lake, and their purpose was probably to watch over the mechanical giant in the lake, whose fate was unknown.

Sun Cheng quickly returned to the surface, where more Decepticons had arrived and begun their tasks.

As Sun Cheng emerged from the passage to the underground ice lake, he was immediately noticed by the Decepticons present.

An advanced warrior had taken over command in his absence and was the first to notice his return.

Upon seeing the numerous small wounds on Sun Cheng's body, he hurriedly approached, asking with caution, "Commander-in-chief, is it very dangerous down there?"

"Yes! For you guys!"

Sun Cheng glanced at a Decepticon engineer who had just arrived and said, "Thor, have the base send a batch of liquid nitrogen over to temporarily seal this entrance. No one is allowed to enter without my orders!"

"Yes, Your Excellency, Commander-in-chief!"

With a wave, Sun Cheng took out several relatively intact Shadow Guardian corpses from the Spherical Space and placed them in front of Thor.

"These are Shadow Guardians, combat machines created by the ancient Cybertron civilization. Each one possesses at least the strength of an advanced warrior, and they are fearless. Have someone take these back to the base for careful study!"

Nearby Decepticons, including the advanced warrior, curiously gathered to take a look.

The fact that these so-called Shadow Guardians left wounds on Sun Cheng already proved their extraordinary nature.

What amazed them even more was that these combat machines could survive in extremely low temperatures and had existed for so many years.

Thor's eyes emitted two scanning beams, carefully inspecting one of the Shadow Guardian corpses. His expression changed from surprise to delight.

"The mechanical body materials of this combat machine are very special, a type of special alloy we have never seen before. It seems to be created specifically to resist extreme cold environments... Commander-in-chief, give us some time. Even if we can't fully replicate this special alloy, the performance should be close!"

Sun Cheng found these words very encouraging. As long as his batches of Decepticon engineers continued their research, there might come a day when he could elevate the technological level to the peak of the ancient Cybertron civilization, or even beyond.

During this time, Sun Cheng, along with some Decepticons from the Mars base, devised a set of defensive structures set around Mars.

As Shockwave's Skytiger Legion Major was about to arrive, and Quintesson's marauding fleet had been active in this nearby star system, Sun Cheng couldn't rest easy without being adequately prepared.
