"You dare to rummage through my house without my consent and even move in? Bruce Wayne! You damn rude bastard! I should have shot you before leaving! Only when you're lying in the hospital will you behave!"

Bruce was somewhat stunned. Initially, when he saw Selena appear before him, he felt quite surprised. However, he didn't expect Selena to be here for a joyful reunion or a newlywed celebration. She was here to settle scores.

Selena, without caring about Bruce's mental state, berated him continuously. She said, "You damn rule-breaking rich old man! Do you know that this will ruin my reputation in the East District? Boyfriend or not, even if you were my husband, you can't live in my apartment! I rented it so that only I can enter, and everyone else can get lost!"

In a fit of rage, Selena dragged Bruce through the streets of the East District back to her original apartment. As they entered, they coincidentally encountered the landlord descending the staircase.

The landlord was dumbfounded at the sight of them, but Selena didn't pause. She walked up and slapped the landlord's face, leaving three bloody marks.

"Hef! You're stupider than a groundhog, blinder than a mole, you idiot from the East District! I should have shot your mother before leaving and made you cry your way home! Shove her ashes into the pants of the brothel owner next door!"

"Selena! Have you lost your mind?" Hef shouted. "You brought a stranger home and let him stay there!"

Selena, with nails painted black, pointed her finger tipped with nail polish at Hef's nose and said, "Dare you let a thief from the East District into my apartment! Tomorrow, I'll hang your son's head on my balcony!"

"I told you it's because your boyfriend moved in without permission. He's not from here, and you should know..." Hef began to explain.

Selena slapped him again, saying, "When did I say I don't live here anymore? Even if I bring Kai home overnight, you still want to interfere? Why don't you control your wife going after black guys?"

The quarrel echoed through the entire corridor. Many people peeked out, but upon seeing Selena and Hef arguing, they retreated. After a while, an old man came out and said, "Stop quarreling! What's the point of such a loud argument? I've heard it all. So what if Selena brought a man home for a couple of days? Nothing happened, right?"

"But if everyone acts like her, who knows if some lunatic will blow up my building one day?" Hef said with a stiff neck.

Selena, arms crossed, said sarcastically, "Really? You don't care that the guy on the third floor brings women home, the guy on the fifth floor swears five times a day, and you, you stinky old gambler, stop pretending to be a good person. I know about you. Your son killed a girl in his room just a month ago..."

"What do you want?" Hef said with a dark face. "I've already rented your house to someone else. Don't think about staying here anymore. Get out!"

Selena turned back, took the umbrella from Bruce, and swung it at Hef. He, unprepared, could only use his arm to shield his face.

Dirty and rule-breaking bug! Tonight, I'll make your deeds known throughout the East District!" Selena shouted, hitting him and cursing simultaneously.

The old man quickly stepped forward to intervene, saying, "Selena, stop going crazy here. Your loud arguments are preventing everyone from sleeping."

"Hef! Hef! Are you going to let her do this to me? In my opinion, just refund her the rent. Haven't you earned enough?" the old man advised.

"This damn scoundrel!" Hef continued to curse while getting beaten. The old man persisted, "You know she's a lunatic! Aren't you afraid she'll climb into the boss's bed one day? She'll shoot you!"

With a scratch, four blood marks appeared on Hef's back. The onlookers in the corridor rushed up to stop the fight.

In the end, Hef's clothes turned into rags, and Selena's hair was disheveled. She gathered her long hair, panting, and said, "I've only been away for a few days, and this useless person dares to challenge me. If you don't give me an explanation today, I'll smash all the glass here!"

Hef, out of breath, said, "Selena, you... you crazy woman."

"I've just gone mad, haven't I?" Selena raised her voice. "I've been around here for so many years, is today the first time you've met me?!"

Saying that, she attempted to grab Hef's clothes again. Hef's wife also came running out, but she couldn't match Selena at all. Hef's son, in his teens, didn't dare to approach. None of the residents in the building could restrain the furious Selena.

Bruce had long been pushed aside. Not only could he not stop Selena, but he couldn't even find a person to intervene. The combat techniques he learned were only effective in a face-to-face confrontation, not in a chaotic street brawl. The more techniques he applied, the more beatings he received in such a messy fight.

However, Selena was evidently skilled. Regardless of the people around trying to pull her away, she focused on beating Hef. Without physical advantage, unable to overpower the big man, she maximized her advantage with sharp claws, using both nails and teeth. She repeatedly attacked the already injured areas on his back, nearly tearing the skin near those four wounds.

"Hef! Hef!" someone shouted. "Don't you know this wildcat has always been a lunatic? Why did you rent her house to someone else?!"

"Or, quickly refund her the rent!" another person suggested. "It's just a few bucks. If she really targets you, medical bills will cost more!"

The crowd echoed in agreement. Hef couldn't take it anymore. He shouted, "Stop! Selena!"

Selena, panting, shook her hand to flick off the blood from her fingertips. She glared at Hef, saying, "Give me back my money, or I'll make you and your family pay!"

Hef, grimacing, gestured to his wife to fetch the money. His wife returned with a wad of bills, much larger than the rent.

Selena snatched it away, saying, "This baby is mine! Don't follow me, or I'll gouge your eyes out!"

With that, she stepped back, approached Bruce, and pulled him to run outside. Hef chased after them but couldn't match their speed.

In a dark alley, Selena finally stopped, leaning on her knees, gasping for breath.

After a while, she straightened up, holding the bills in one hand. With the other, she joined her index and middle fingers and flicked the end of the bills, creating a crisp sound. She smiled and said, "Such a great harvest right after coming back!"

She then looked at Bruce and said, "I don't understand. Faced with a softie like Hef, how did he manage to kick you out?"

At this point, Bruce had awakened from his philosophical contemplation. He was now shocked in a different way. He had never seen Catwoman so aggressive.

In the past, Selena hadn't shown much dominance in front of him. Most of the time, Batman took the lead, and Selena enjoyed being affectionate with him. When discussing matters, she spoke softly and resembled a cat meowing in its owner's arms.

But today, Bruce realized he might have misunderstood Catwoman. Leaving aside the coquettishness, was this really a house cat? Why did she look more like a mother tiger?

Bruce had never heard Selena's voice like that before. It was at least ten times more rough and loud than usual, using curses without reservation. In the entire corridor, a dozen people couldn't match her when it came to talking.

But at this moment, Selena approached him, speaking gently, "Well, since my rent has been recovered, I won't blame you. But from now on, you can't casually enter my house. My house is mine. If you need a place to sleep, go back to your own home."

Listening to her soft voice, Bruce felt that everything just now might have been an illusion. However, Selena noticed the wounds on his face. She gasped and cupped Bruce's face, saying, "Heavens! Darling, what happened to you?"

Selena sniffed and said, "Were you splashed with those chemicals? Oh, on your face? Where did you go?!"

Selena stepped back, surveyed Bruce, and then realized something was off with his appearance. Especially the shoes he wore. Selena remembered that Bruce usually wore shiny leather shoes, and the rain boots on his feet looked like something people from the East District would wear.

"Where did you buy these boots?" Selena crouched down to take a look. "Why are you buying these mismatched goods? You're not scammed, are you?"

Selena sensed that something was wrong and stood up. Staring into Bruce's eyes with crossed arms, she demanded, "Where have you been in the past month? Tell me right away!"

Bruce didn't want to talk because he vaguely sensed some issues. Men always had an additional sense of pride when facing beautiful females. So, facing someone like Selena, Bruce felt a bit uneasy.

However, as Selena's gaze grew colder, Bruce thought about Hef's miserable state and decided to confess everything.

"I lived in the slums for over a month."

Selena nodded, showing no surprise. Maggie had already informed her of this.

Then, Selena wore a puzzled expression and asked, "Just over a month, and you turned yourself into this? Did something happen? Did that maniac Joker come after you again? Injured you?"

Bruce hesitated but shook his head. "No... not only did he not injure me, but he also helped me."

Selena's puzzled expression deepened as she looked at the somewhat exhausted state of Bruce. She said, "Okay, I ask, and you answer. First, where did you get these shoes?"

"I bought them."

"How much did you pay?"

"Five US dollars."

"How much??!"
