A relentless barrage of missiles and artillery fire turned the inconspicuous town of Seville within the Arctic Circle into an inferno.

Inside a cave in the River Valley, Lightning found himself only meters away from where a missile, launched from over a thousand kilometers away, struck the ground, sending shards of rock and mud flying in all directions.

"They've underestimated Earthlings!"

When the first wave of missiles hit, Lightning had tried to command a group of Decepticons armed with heavy firepower to counterattack. However, the Americans had had their fair share of encounters with them, and they had certainly improved over time.

Especially when they learned that the Decepticons attacking Seville possessed Aerial Combat abilities.

The U.S. Military, having lost their vanguard forces, had no intention of engaging them in direct combat until they had severely damaged the Decepticons.

With a formidable military force on Earth, including a relentless barrage of missiles from the U.S. Military and artillery support from the Great Canadian Army, the Decepticons, who had not experienced such intense conflict since the Civil War ended, suffered losses within the first half-hour of the missile and artillery onslaught. Over forty Decepticon Vehicons were either killed or heavily wounded by the explosions and flying shrapnel.

Lightning and his allies quickly launched a counterattack and promptly destroyed the makeshift camp of the Great Canadian Army, which was less than 50 kilometers from Seville.

However, facing missile strikes launched from military bases located thousands of kilometers away within the U.S. Military's territory, they began to feel overwhelmed.

"Based on the trajectory of the human missiles, I've identified six military bases. I'll take the aerial squadron to deal with them!" Elegy entered the cave from outside. Human missiles could harm Vehicons, but their damage to Decepticons of higher rank was minimal.

"No need!" Lightning shook his head and stood at the cave's entrance, where the missiles streaked across the sky, his face cold and determined.

"You take the aerial squadron and intercept the approaching U.S. Military forces head-on!"

As for the Vehicons, he didn't even mention them.

They were nothing more than a group of mass-produced cannon fodder. After arriving in the Solar System and taking command of the Moon Base from Starscream, Lightning had thoroughly assessed Starscream's assets accumulated over the past century.

Overall, Lightning was reasonably satisfied. There were still over two thousand Vehicons inside the Moon Base.

Under his command, these Vehicons were more than capable of annihilating all human nations on Earth. So, losing a few dozen of them wasn't a significant concern—it all depended on what they gained in return.

Elegy frowned but, under Lightning's icy gaze, chose not to say anything further. He grunted and left.

Lightning was the commander of this operation, and his combat prowess far exceeded Elegy's. In the Skytiger Legion, where the strong ruled, though ambition was rampant, it didn't mean they lacked common sense.

Starscream had taught many of the Legion's ambitious members through his own experiences.

Many times, conspiracies and schemes couldn't fulfill their ambitions, but strength could.

Lightning smirked, revealing his sharp fangs. Both he and Elegy were cybertron nobles with a background in guerrilla warfare. They were old acquaintances, and they knew each other's personalities well.

However, his strength was unquestionably superior to Elegy's, and in the face of Lightning, Elegy had no chance of winning. Whether he liked it or not.

Seeing that Elegy had not gone far, Lightning couldn't help but remind him, "Although the Cannon Fodder cultivated by Starscream may be useless, we shouldn't let them be consumed so easily. Bring more of them with you and let them die on the battlefield!"

Boom!

Another missile landed dozens of meters away.

The explosion wreaked havoc, causing even the cave where Lightning had taken shelter to be filled with falling debris.

Elegy's figure showed no sign of hesitation as he continued to move further away.

Lightning paid it no mind, knowing that he had definitely heard his orders.

Shaking off the debris from his body, his expression once again turned cold.

As he looked out through the cave entrance at the smoke and flames outside, a glimmer of wisdom shone in Lightning's eyes.

"...According to the data collected by Starscream, these cruise missiles, named 'War Axes,' have a range of several hundred to over two thousand kilometers and pack a decent punch..."

"It's said that these missiles were designed and manufactured by the most powerful human nation on Earth, the United States. While some other countries may have them in their arsenal, it's clear that they can't sustain this level of consumption. We can reasonably assume that we're currently facing the U.S. Military..."

"In the past hour or so, the U.S. Military has launched over four hundred War Axe missiles, altering the terrain on our side of the River Valley..."

"Their satellites should have been monitoring this area all along. In other words, they likely have a basic understanding of our losses by now. They should attempt to deploy Onslaught's aircraft or ground forces for further reconnaissance soon..."

As an outstanding senior commander, Lightning possessed extensive military command experience.

He didn't mind sacrificing some Vehicons. Although he hadn't chosen to evacuate to protect the minerals in the River Valley, he also wanted to give the most powerful military force on Earth, the U.S. Military, a heavy lesson or at least teach them a valuable one.

So Lightning restrained the violent intent in his heart, patiently waiting for the upcoming aerial or ground battle.

This was also the best strategy under the current firepower constraints!

The Civil War between Decepticons and Autobots had depleted Cybertron Planet's resources to the point that, in the later stages of the war, even the Skytiger Legion, which had a clear advantage, relied on the same old tactics.

First, they would order the aerial squadrons to launch the initial bombardment. After gaining air superiority, they would send Vehicons and Hercules to attack without regard for casualties.

They would organize a group of Elite Warriors-level commanders to lead fearless warriors in precision assassinations against the Autobots' weak points or command centers.

As for wars with heavy firepower support like those on Earth, which had been ongoing for millions of years among the Cybertronians, they simply lacked the resources to handle them.

Lightning's guess was correct. The War Axe missile attack from the U.S. Military, after nearly two hours, finally came to a halt.

Over five hundred War Axe missiles had been launched in one go, nearly depleting the stockpile of War Axe missiles in the U.S. Military's land and air forces.

After all, the bulk of these cruise missiles were held by the Navy, and while the Navy maintained a stockpile of thousands, the warships and missiles were scattered across military bases worldwide.

So once the Land and Air Force's War Axe cruise missiles were expended, the logical next step would be to deploy the Air Force again, or even send ground forces for terrestrial warfare.
