Several months ago, Sun Cheng and his team unexpectedly obtained Scalpel, the chief medical officer of the Skytiger Legion, who had been killed by Bumblebee.

From his memory chip, Base Two finally acquired the two technologies that Sun Cheng had longed for: humanoid Decepticons and Vehicons.

Scalpel served as the chief medical officer of the Skytiger Legion. In the highly structured hierarchy of the Skytiger Legion, he had risen from the lowly position of a Medical Spider to become Megatron's designated medical officer. This showcased his expertise in the fields of medicine and technology, particularly in relation to Ratchet.

As a result, Scalpel had been invited to participate in many of Skytiger Legion's cruel modification experiments, although not as deeply as Starscream or Shockwave. However, even the knowledge Scalpel possessed was sufficient for Sun Cheng's Decepticon engineers.

In any scientific endeavor, the most challenging breakthrough is not from one to one hundred but from zero to one. With the technology obtained from Scalpel, though far from perfect, Sun Cheng's Decepticon engineers, with the advantage of their numbers, quickly deciphered and improved upon it.

The cultivation of humanoid Decepticons was relatively simpler. Atlas and his team had already conducted extensive research on humanoid Decepticons, accumulating some technical expertise. However, certain technical barriers had impeded their progress, preventing them from independently mastering the technology for humanoid Decepticons.

The technology for humanoid Decepticons obtained from Scalpel swiftly addressed the deficiencies in Atlas's research. In the past few months, using these refined humanoid Decepticons, Base Two had already begun mass production of more mature humanoid Decepticons.

Sun Cheng issued a directive to Base Two: to cultivate at least a thousand humanoid Decepticons within a year.

Technically, these improved humanoid Decepticons still belonged to the Constructicon class and did not possess particularly high combat capabilities. However, they excelled at perfectly mimicking the appearance of humans, making them valuable tools for infiltration and intelligence gathering within Base Two's sphere of influence in South America.

In contrast to the rapid progress in humanoid Decepticons, Base Two's advancement in the realm of Vehicons had been considerably slower.

The Skytiger Legion's Vehicons were essentially a special technology involving the careful selection of individual Decepticon warriors with distinct characteristics. Their mechanical body data was recorded and preserved, allowing for the mass production of Decepticon warriors with identical mechanical bodies and combat abilities, similar to the concept of clones on Earth.

Notably, scientists like Starscream and Shockwave within the Skytiger Legion possessed the knowledge of this mass production technology for Vehicons.

Sun Cheng had learned from Jazz's memories that Autobot scientists had also researched Vehicons for a period during the Civil War, primarily to counter the Skytiger Legion's massive cannon fodder forces. However, the cultivation of these Vehicons had raised significant ethical concerns within the Autobot ranks, with even Sentinel Prime unable to suppress the opposition.

Ultimately, despite knowing that they lacked the manpower, the Autobots were unable to mass-produce their own Cannon Fodder Warriors due to the unethical nature of this technology.

Strictly speaking, Vehicons could be divided into two categories: Cannon Fodder Warriors and Advanced Warriors.

As the name suggests, Cannon Fodder Warriors were specifically cultivated Vehicons designed to deplete the Autobot forces on the battlefield. Typically chosen by Starscream and Shockwave, these cannon fodder Vehicons had simple mechanical bodies and possessed a certain level of combat ability, though not exceptionally high.

However, the Cannon Fodder Warriors among the Vehicons were all fearless, bloodthirsty warriors. When they engaged in combat, there were typically only two outcomes: either the Vehicons perished, or their targets met their demise.

Not all of the Skytiger Legion's Vehicons were mere cannon fodder, though. Within the ranks of high-ranking members like Starscream and Shockwave, there existed special groups of Vehicons.

For instance, under Starscream's command, there were the Trencher Team and the Terrorcons. Under Shockwave, there were the Rogue Squad, Target Warriors, Clone Warriors, and the Flying Tigers, among others.

These special Vehicons either possessed combat abilities exceeding those of advanced warriors, or they were renowned squads within the Skytiger Legion.

Unlike the cannon fodder Vehicons, most of these special Vehicons volunteered to become Vehicons, seeking a form of quasi-immortality.

Base Two had already begun preparations for the first batch of Vehicons. Currently, Sun Cheng had selected only two prototypes for the Vehicons: Ravage and Lazerbeak from the Cassette Legion.

The reason for choosing these two was twofold. First, during the previous encounter with Soundwave, the Autobots had not destroyed the corpses of Ravage and Lazerbeak. This allowed Atlas and his team to obtain the most detailed mechanical body data.

Second, because both of these Decepticons were already deceased, Sun Cheng could manipulate their backup memory data. He did not want the Vehicons he painstakingly cultivated in the future to rebel against him, as that would be counterproductive.

Since Base Two was cultivating Vehicons for the first time, and Scalpel's memory chip did not contain complete technology, Atlas and his team encountered several issues. Therefore, it was currently impossible to determine when the first batch of Vehicons could be deployed on the battlefield.

It typically took Starscream two to three years to cultivate a batch of Cannon Fodder Warriors and around five to seven years for the special type of Vehicons.

Providing an ample supply of energon and the necessary metal for rapid mechanical body generation could significantly accelerate this cultivation process.

However, Sun Cheng couldn't afford to wait that long. The imminent crisis of an impending war, which he felt upon his return from the New Iron Fortress City, left him restless and sleep-deprived.

Of the Four Major Projects he had devised for Base Two, the first three were progressing smoothly. However, with Shockwave and the arrival of major Skytiger Legion figures, a future war was inevitable on Earth.

At that time, as a traitor to the Skytiger Legion, Sun Cheng would undoubtedly be targeted by them. He needed to prepare in advance for the impending conflict.

In response to Sun Cheng's request, the first batch of Vehicons cultivated by Base Two would receive ample resources.

The cultivation of Vehicons based on Lazerbeak's prototype was not particularly challenging, and it was expected to take approximately six months to see the first batch of Vehicons.

Ravage, on the other hand, posed a more significant challenge. Being a Predacon of advanced warrior level, his mechanical body's structure differed significantly from that of typical Decepticons.

Even with some simplification of its mechanical body structure by Atlas and his team, it was estimated to take at least a year or more to cultivate the first batch of Vehicons based on Ravage's prototype. This was under the condition of a significant allocation of resources.

The imminent war crisis compelled Sun Cheng to lock himself once again within Base Two upon his return from the New Iron Fortress City. He took personal charge of overseeing the progress of the Four Major Projects.

Amidst his busy schedule, the small experimental spaceship he had personally designed was finally manufactured by Atlas and his team.
