The upheaval caused by Sun Cheng's sudden decision to consolidate the Cybertron Technology group gradually subsided as more and more talents were recruited into the group.
From the end of June until the middle and later part of July, rounds of meetings were held and concluded, discussing topics ranging from the number of subsidiaries to development directions, from major positions within the subsidiaries to financial allocations, from subsidiary autonomy to group supervision, from establishing the core business of the group to projects for divesting major subsidiaries, and so on.
Sun Cheng remained at the company headquarters, granting significant power to the group's management, but he didn't blindly trust the professional managers hired at high salaries.
He firmly held control over the important departments of finance, law, and human resources. Additionally, as the Chief Technology Officer of the group, he didn't have to worry about being sidelined.
The new Cybertron Technology conglomerate included four subsidiaries.
The core of the group was undoubtedly two companies named "Cybertron," namely Cybertron Cloud Disk Technology Co., Ltd. and Cybertron Storage Technology Co., Ltd.
One company was responsible for software development, and the other focused on hardware.
Cybertron Cloud Disk absorbed PandaCloud Disk and would continue to develop and operate PC and mobile cloud storage. In the medium term, it would attempt to develop customized VIP cloud service projects for enterprises or individuals. The long-term goal was to tap into the burgeoning field of internet cloud computing that had been growing over the past two years.
This company wouldn't pursue profits in the short term, and even if they did, it would be challenging.
Cloud storage was a money-consuming behemoth; the monthly fees paid to broadband service providers were astronomical, not to mention other expenses like servers.
Even if Cybertron Cloud Disk managed to save some costs on storage devices, it would still be difficult to see profitability in the short term. At best, they might break even with the revenue from Cloud Disk services.
Cybertron Storage Technology was responsible for researching new storage technologies and materials. It would have three major labs: the currently independent "Storage Technology Lab 1," and the still-forming "Storage Technology Lab 2" and "New Materials Research Lab."
Lies, once spoken, require countless more to cover up.
The so-called "Storage Technology Lab 1" naturally didn't exist before.
Sun Cheng was currently fabricating a lie for himself. He presented various technologies, some as his own inventions and others ambiguously attributed to collaborations with friends.
As more attention was directed at him, Sun Cheng was acutely aware that his every move might be scrutinized in detail in the future.
These issues were something Sun Cheng had been aware of all along.
That's why, when he had contact with the National Security Bureau before, he mentioned an organization behind him called "P·C·F."
He was essentially lying about the technology and devices he had brought back from the Transformers Universe, but fabricating such a grand lie required a tremendous effort.
The "Storage Technology Lab 1" would become the technical research and development center in name for Cybertron Storage Technology.
In the short term, it wouldn't be exposed to the public eye. If the country showed interest, Sun Cheng would attribute it to his fabricated organization, "P·C·F."
After all, even if the country wanted to investigate, it would take time, and what he needed most now was time.
Once there was enough time, once the humanoid Decepticon technology developed by Sun Cheng's Decepticon engineers was fully mature, not only could the facade of "Storage Technology Lab 1" be maintained, but also his recently proposed organization, "P·C·F," would become a reality.
The third subsidiary under the Cybertron Technology conglomerate was "Advanced Software Technology Co., Ltd.," specializing in the field of artificial intelligence.
This was a field that required heavy investment and had no immediate prospects.
It wasn't that Sun Cheng was overly pessimistic; in fact, most of the tech giants in this world were eyeing this field.
All tech professionals knew that society would inevitably enter the era of full artificial intelligence, and it was only a matter of time before more efficient fully mechanical operations replaced highly inefficient manual labor.
However, achieving this step in the short term was still out of reach.
With the current understanding of artificial intelligence by human tech professionals, only weak artificial intelligence had been achieved temporarily. Very few tech giants had even brushed the surface of strong artificial intelligence.
But even if substantial investment was required, Sun Cheng wanted to have a hand in the field of artificial intelligence.
In the Transformers Universe, his Decepticon engineers were struggling to solve the awakening problem of the newborn Decepticons.
It could be said that losing a few fragments of the All Spark would bring the development of Base Two to a complete standstill.
Unfortunately, through continuous research on the All Spark fragments, Sun Cheng had realized that this substance had even greater potential.
For instance, embedding it within the Spark of a mechanical body could provide more powerful energy.
Or for awakening near-death Decepticons.
Yet he only had a few precious fragments of the All Spark, and each one was like a piece of gold.
Because of this, Sun Cheng had to consider using the technological research and development strength of the Real World to create intelligent machines, replacing the newborn Decepticons that couldn't be mass-produced.
The fourth subsidiary under the Cybertron Technology conglomerate was "Future Mechanics Technology Co., Ltd."
Through cooperation with his alma mater, the South China University of Technology, Sun Cheng had established the research lab "Intelligent Mechanics Laboratory," which was now under the banner of "Future Mechanics Technology Co., Ltd."
This seemingly inconspicuous subsidiary was specially created for the future development of mechanical bodies for his intelligent robots.
After spending half a month with "PandaWeiyun," Wang Lu finally returned to South Capital.
The merger with Weiyun took longer than he originally anticipated. Data migration, the retention of Weiyun's original technology and management team, and negotiations with Panda Communications Group regarding the business to be separated all consumed a significant amount of his time.
As a result, what he expected to take a week ended up dragging on for half a month.
Upon returning to South Capital, Wang Lu, who had been with Sun Cheng for the longest time and possessed considerable abilities, was promoted to CEO of Cybertron Technology conglomerate and concurrently served as the Executive Vice President of the group.
On the second day of proactively contacting the National Security Bureau, Sun Cheng acted as though nothing had happened and he was completely unaware of anything.
He arrived at the company headquarters as usual and chaired the first general meeting of the entire group's top management team at 8 o'clock in the morning.
The meeting had only two items on the agenda: the selection of the new headquarters location and who would be responsible for the acquisition of "New Sea Technology."
