"Sun Cheng, you must seize this opportunity... The principal personally arranged for a key person from the Nandu Supercomputing Center. It's the opportunity they fought for on your behalf..."

"I understand, I'm aware of that. Class advisor, let me stop a car for you. Thank you so much today..."

After the gathering, with a hint of alcohol on his breath, Sun Cheng helped the somewhat drunk Xu Chun into the taxi he had just flagged down. He kept his gaze on the taxi until it disappeared into the distance. Then he shifted his focus, bought a bottle of juice from a nearby newsstand, and used it to freshen up and sober up.

He was never a good drinker and didn't enjoy alcohol.

However, in Chinese tradition, important matters are often discussed over meals. Throughout history, even emperors would hold court banquets to address challenges. Sun Cheng couldn't escape this tradition, but he drank far less than Xu Chun, and his mind was still clear.

Knowing there would be a dinner that evening, which inevitably involved drinking, Sun Cheng didn't drive there.

He stood by the roadside for a while, quietly observing the passing cars, sipping his juice slowly.

After more than ten minutes, the bottle of juice was almost empty. Finally, Sun Cheng hailed a taxi to take him back to his residence.

As May arrived, the weather in Nandu clearly indicated the arrival of summer.

After taking off his sweaty and sticky clothes and taking a shower, Sun Cheng, who lived alone, only changed into a loose pair of shorts before returning to his bedroom.

Instead of going to bed and resting, he turned on the air conditioner and adjusted the temperature. Directly heading to a corner of his bedroom, Sun Cheng took a seat in front of a computer desk that appeared somewhat out of place.

The desk was sparsely adorned, aside from an unopened set of keyboard and mouse that he had just purchased and placed to the side. The only visible item on the desk was a brand new desktop computer.

Unlike the mainstream all-in-one computers, this one appeared much bulkier.

The massive 40-inch display made it impossible to look away, not to mention the weighty industrial aesthetic brought about by the all-metal casing.

Sun Cheng's gaze swept over the prominent Decepticon logo displayed on the stand of the desktop computer. He took a seat right in front of the computer desk.

At this moment, all traces of intoxication had vanished from his face, replaced by an unprecedented sense of calmness.

"Revenge, connect to Base 1..."

"Yes, Master!"

As soon as he uttered those words, the screen of the desktop computer he was visiting on the table in front of him suddenly illuminated.

However, what appeared wasn't the usual progress bar or the operating system's interface after booting up; instead, it displayed a brightly lit and vast cave after a brief flicker of snow-like patterns.

"Master, the signal has connected to Safeguard..."

"Mm!"

Sun Cheng nodded in satisfaction, then looked at the screen.

In front of him, the all-in-one computer on the desk was completely different from those available on the market. It was the reconnaissance Decepticon, Revenge, that he had brought back from another world to the real world.

Last time in the real world, they encountered some inexplicable troubles, resulting in both Revenge and Safeguard getting injured—one physically, the other falling into a dormant state. It was a mess.

When he returned to the world of Transformers, Sun Cheng had to bring these two mechanical beings back from the other world.

This time, when he came back, Sun Cheng didn't forget to bring them along. After all, even though the real world seemed safe, his recent unique experiences over the past six months left him with no sense of security. To address this, he spent a considerable amount of effort to reinforce Revenge and Safeguard.

However, although their abilities were enhanced, the new versions of Revenge and Safeguard were no longer suitable for portable use, as they were not the compact and lightweight models anymore.

Fortunately, Sun Cheng had other means to protect himself. Thus, he placed Revenge in the rented apartment while Safeguard remained in Base No. 1.

Mechanical beings could communicate with each other over long distances using a remote communication technology.

Sun Cheng was currently using a simplified version of this technology to connect to Safeguard through Revenge.

However, this advanced technology was not without its flaws. During usage, it emitted significant amounts of electromagnetic signals, which could easily be detected even by human technology.

Therefore, prolonged use would inevitably lead to exposure.

Through the screen of Revenge, transformed into an all-in-one machine, he had a clear view of the situation in the base. Several industrial robots appeared in the footage from time to time, seemingly engaged in transporting construction materials.

"Safeguard, is everything normal in the base?"

"Master, everything is normal in the base! However, this afternoon, the monitors detected humans loitering near surveillance points 1 to 7 for a few minutes!"

The cold response made Sun Cheng furrow his brow slightly.

Base No. 1 was crucial to his plans in the real world, and he didn't want the secrets of the robots to be exposed so soon.

Therefore, before returning to the other world last time, Sun Cheng purchased numerous surveillance devices and personally spent two full days installing and debugging them. He installed nearly a hundred sets of monitors around the three mines he had acquired.

Surveillance points 1 to 7 were placed at the foot of the three mines he owned, within a group of construction sites built by Hongyuan Group.

Originally, these sites were used for storing and transporting stones, as well as providing resting and dining areas for the workers. After he acquired the mines, Hongyuan Group bundled these inexpensive buildings and handed them over to him.

After Safeguard finished speaking, several sets of surveillance images immediately appeared on the screen in front of Sun Cheng.

He examined it carefully and indeed soon saw three men, appearing to be around forty years old, walking from the distance on the concrete road built by Hongyuan Group at the foot of the mountain. They walked all the way to the vicinity of the construction site and then opened the door and window, attempting to peek inside the locked construction site.

These three individuals looked like local villagers. It seemed that the recent influx of vehicles in and out of the construction site at the foot of the mine, as well as the frequent sight of trucks transporting large amounts of construction materials, had aroused their suspicions. Perhaps they wanted to see if any job opportunities were available here.

This discovery made Sun Cheng feel somewhat uneasy. The sudden exposure of the robots within a short period of time was not something he desired.

However, for the moment, he couldn't think of a good solution to this situation. After pondering for a moment, he issued an order: "Be vigilant at the base, I will handle this matter later!"

"Yes!"

After Safeguard acknowledged, Sun Cheng didn't waste any time and quickly severed the connection with Revenge.

The screen of the all-in-one machine swiftly returned to its normal operating interface. Just as he was about to go online and browse the news for today, suddenly Xiao Wu's voice resounded.

"Master, you have an incoming call. Will you answer it?"

There was no need for him to get up and walk over to retrieve it. Xiao Wu, who he had left on the bed, had already instinctively transformed back into its Decepticon form, swiftly crawling and leaping from the bed, and landing steadily on the table in front of him.
