"Sir... sir..."

In a daze, Major William vaguely felt that someone was calling him incessantly.

Feeling the repeated pressure on his chest, he couldn't hold it anymore and coughed forcefully, "Ahem..."

"He's waking up... he's awake..."

Accompanied by an exclamation, Major William, with a hazy and heavy head, slowly opened his eyes.

At first, his vision was somewhat dim, blurry, and even a bit astigmatic.

He instinctively shook his head and weakly asked, "Where am I... How did I pass out?"

His words brought about a moment of silence around him. While Major William was still puzzled, memories gradually returned as he regained consciousness. Soon, he remembered what had happened. Ignoring the soreness in his body and head, his face changed dramatically as he quickly sat up, covering his head. "An explosion? Where did the explosion come from just now?"

"It's over... It's all over... Sir, we walked into an ambush!" A young soldier beside him responded with a trembling voice, filled with fear. "There were many bombs that detonated just now!"

"Bombs..."

That's right, Major William fully understood.

Although his vision was still blurry, and his ears were filled with a constant buzzing sound, he stubbornly rejected the assistance of several soldiers with disheveled appearances beside him and struggled to stand up.

Looking around, the desolate surroundings made his heart tremble.

At this moment, he and his comrades were taking cover behind an overturned LAV-25 infantry fighting vehicle. Not far away, several armed Humvees and other infantry fighting vehicles were also overturned, some of them still engulfed in flames.

As far as his eyes could see, there was no sign of his old friend, Captain Robert.

Instead, his gaze wandered over the fallen Apache attack helicopters, the burning M1A2 main battle tanks, and the countless bodies scattered about. The agonizing groans occasionally reaching his ears further emphasized the severity of the damage caused by the earlier explosion.

"It's over!"

Major William's legs felt weak, and he nearly collapsed to the ground.

Fortunately, at that moment, a towering figure noticed him and quickly rushed over, providing support to prevent Major William from losing face.

"Major, are you alright?"

That distinctly non-human electronic voice immediately pulled Major William out of his pain and self-blame.

He looked up at the owner of the large metallic hand supporting him and managed to force a bitter smile. "So, it's you, Ironhide. How are the Autobots faring?"

Ironhide was one of the Autobots who had arrived on Earth only two months ago. He was a brave Autobot warrior prone to getting carried away, and it was said that he and Ratchet were good friends.

Ironhide glanced down at him. "Skids took some electromagnetic shocks, and Ratchet is tending to him. Ironhide and Mudflap are furious. They've headed toward the nuclear missile silo. I came here to tell you about it!"

"Oh, by the way!"

Before William Major could answer, he suddenly tapped his head and spoke again, "When I arrived, I bumped into Captain Robert. He asked me to tell you that the Sound Nest troops have suffered heavy losses. He's currently commanding the rescue of the wounded. It's been said that the recent explosion has resulted in the loss of at least three to four hundred of your soldiers, with over half of them killed on the spot. Your planes and tanks have also been heavily impacted by the blast, especially the electronic devices, which are severely damaged..."

As he heard the news from his old comrade, William Major didn't feel much joy. Instead, his face turned even grimmer upon learning the approximate extent of the losses.

Deeply resenting Sun Cheng, he tightly clenched his fists and forcefully smashed them onto the ground. This action caused Heng Pao's eyebrows to twitch.

It was apparent that this Autobot warrior had a far lower level of acceptance toward Earth's civilization and its vulnerable natives—the humans—compared to Optimus Prime and Bumblebee.

"Major, please accept my condolences..."

Turning his head to gaze into the distance, he extended his hand to help him up, but his facial expression changed, "I received a transmission from Ironhide. He and Mudflap have already entered the nuclear missile launch silo, and the battle has begun. I believe they might need my assistance!"

"Go ahead..."

William Major nodded in response, and immediately after, he stood up from his half-squatting position, transforming into a silver-gray Chevrolet sports car and speeding away into the distance.

With him gone, an air of silence fell upon William Major and his comrades.

After a while, one of the lieutenants asked, "Sir, what should we do now?"

"What should we do..."

William Major muttered a couple of sentences before lifting his head to look at the young adjutant. His eyes were filled with animosity, and his face appeared slightly distorted and fierce due to hatred.

He tightened his grip on the weapon he hadn't released, "Issue the order: except for a unit left behind to continue rescuing the wounded, the rest who are still capable of fighting should gather around me. This is Earth, the United States of America. We can still fight..."

After finishing his words, his gaze turned towards the direction where the artillery had left, clearly showing a hint of determination.

...

Violently lifting the lid of the main missile silo, Ironhide, a hot-tempered and combative Autobot elite warrior, leaped down into the several tens of meters deep silo.

Before he landed, his ears keenly caught a faint sound emanating from the bottom of the silo.

Experienced as he was, Ironhide immediately realized that there was an ambush here.

Soon, a terrifying tongue of fire spewed upward.

"Da da da..."

The electronic eyes clearly captured the projectiles flying towards him, and Ironhide, considering them as ordinary bullets manufactured by humans, didn't bother to evade.

Ironhide had participated in several training exercises with the Sound Nest Force and had encountered human weapons on more than one occasion. He naturally understood the power of weapons created by humans. Unless they were energy weapons or missiles, it would be difficult for them to pose a threat to his experienced self.

He had also crossed paths with Frenzy, a member of the Decepticon Legion. Although he had learned from Bumblebee that Frenzy had recently been equipped with energy weapons, Ironhide was very confident that the opponent couldn't harm his experienced self.

Therefore, he soon paid the price for underestimation.

When the bullets struck his mechanical body, his expression suddenly changed, "Damn, these are armor-piercing rounds..."

"Papa papa..."

The tongues of flame sprayed onto his mechanical body, and the specialized armor-piercing rounds immediately left some indentations on the surface of his mechanical body at the point of impact.

Although these armor-piercing rounds couldn't penetrate his mechanical body armor with a single shot, Ironhide, who quickly reacted, raised his hand and summoned his grenade launcher, firing six consecutive grenades towards the still-spewing tongues of flame below.
