This lesson also comes with the backing track heard in the lesson as well. It is just 1 measure of C followed by 1 measure of Am

In this lesson I am going to show you how to connect scale shapes. We are only going to be connecting scale shapes 1 and 2 as this is going to be a two part lesson with the next part I am going to show you how to play a full solo that uses the entire fretboard and all the scale shapes. To learn to solo with the full fretboard you have to first

  • 2. Learn to improvise with each of the shapes individually - Click Here for Tutorial
  • 3. Learn to the relative majors and how to transform the scale into the blues scale - Click here for Tutorial
  • 4. Learn to connect shapes 1 and 2 with the licks - Today's Lesson

  • 6. Improvise a solo with all 5 shapes  - Practice with Backing Tracks
  • 7. Compose a solo with all 5 shapes  - Coming Soon

Focus on the timing and really lesson to the resolution. Learning to solo on an instrument is a lot of moving pieces, but the idea is that you focus on timing and resolution, phrasing is essentially crafting licks, how to get licks to connect with each other and how to put them all together into a solo.

Once you have got all these aspects under your belt, the best way to fine tune them is with backing tracks, don't know how to practice with a backing track? This video here will help you.

Hi Tyler, I’m trying to find the printable to the linked tutorials, but they don’t have them on you tube, any suggestions on how to navigate on Patreon

Hi Janine, I just gave the three lessons linked a look and each one has a link to its Patreon post with the PDF. What lesson are you referring to that doesn't have a PDF file?
