This lesson is about a technique called the finger roll. The finger roll is when you play a note on a string and then roll over and play a different note on a different string that is on the same fret, for example you play the 3rd fret on the A string and you follow that with the the 3rd fret on the E string. To make that smooth you are using a technique called the finger roll so you don't have to play one note, lift your finger up, set it down and play the next note, you are able to play them in a fluid fashion.

The tutorial will explain what the technique is, how to use it, then look at three different example licks, each one is progressively harder than the one before, and then after that you will be able to solo fluidly and make long lovely legato runs, this is a most know technique whether you are soloing with jazz, rock or blues!
