The key of D - Advantages and Disadvantages

  • D7 is a barre chord
  • There is a shape you can use as an alternative though, so you don't NEED barre chords to participate
  • G7 and A7 are both easy chords with easy moveable shapes
  • Shape 4, 5 and 1 of the Pentatonic are easily to play.
  • Open D7 is a good blues slide tuning, but it is an Open 7 tuning.

The key of C - Advantages and Disadvantages

  • C7 is a one finger chord
  • The open C note is the lowest note on the Ukulele making for cool creative ideas
  • G7 is easy but F7 is a three or four finger chord
  • Shape 5, 1 and 2 are easy to play on the pentatonic
  • Open C tuning for slide is SUPER easy, maybe the easiest open tuning, just drop the A to G. You can do it without a tuner.

I am pretty much a beginner so either key is interesting.
