Sus chords, the sus2, sus4, 7sus2, all kinds of cool things happen when you start to move the middle note to the left and the right. For today's lesson what I am going to do is explain what is a suspended chord, how to create a suspended chord and how they happen in a chord progression.

We will start off with an interval break down of the chords so you can see what they are and then we will go through and take a look at how to put them into a chord progression, and when you can use them and how you can use them as well. So after this tutorial you will be able play sus chords on the ukulele, you will understand the chord theory behind the sus2 and sus4 chords and you will understand which you can use based on the I-IV-V chord progression, making you basically a suspended chord expert!

Will improve

  • Understanding intervals
  • Guide tones
  • Applying ideas to roman numeral progressions
  • Keyless playing approaches
  • Rhythm arranging ideas
