Ear Training for Ukulele Players - Where to Start? (Patreon)

Today we are going to learn how to start to develop our ears as ukulele players. There are a lot of ways to train your ears but this one is made for ukulele players and it is step 1, exactly where to start. This is an exercise called major or minor and you are simply going to listen to a chord and determine whether it is major or minor. At the surface that might seem overly simplistic but you really want to dial in this first step. Later on you will add chord types, such as 7, Maj7, sus, etc, but first thing is first, major or minor. A song key only has 3 major chords and 3 minor chords, when you are first hearing a song you are randomly guessing 1 of 6 chords, if you can determine whether it is major or minor then you are know guessing 1 of 3 chords, doubling your odds. That is why this is by far the best place to start and the most effective thing you can do to get going.
