A classic tune with mysterious origins and a beautiful melody. Sad, emotional, dark, generated from modal harmony and some very timely halfsteps. Another cool thing about this song is that it is only 8 measures long, meaning that you will be able to pick it up fairly quickly. Once you do start to experiment with the arrangement, mix up the C minor shape, and harmony in places where there is only melody, mix up the strum over parts that don't have melody.  If that feels a little advanced give our chord melody challenge a go to help develop your skill set.

Will improve

  • Fingerstyle in G minor
  • Moving the G minor and E minor shape down the fretboard
  • Thumb strum
  • Root note harmony
  • 8th notes

This sounds awesome.

I love this song and you’ve done a great job capturing it here. Thank you! There is a mistake on the tabs causing some overlap of what is played on the second pass.
